If we are seriously moving Shon Coleman to LT, 33 or 35 might be the spot for RT. Some people think Orlando Brown dropped out of the first round with a less than stellar Combine, and the growing realization that he's really not an LT prospect at the pro level.
I flat out forgot about the Chris Hubbard signing when I posted this, so please disregard. Those high 2nd round picks are too valuable to use for OL depth.
Let's get a grip now. He has been a college QB for 3 years. A very good college QB. never played a down in the NFL. He is not better than Taylor at this point in time. There are defensive formations, speeds, and designs he has not scene yet
I guess we have different opinions of Rosen.
Give Rosen an NFL training camp and he'll be ready. I'm pretty confident of that. He's the better player
If you and others feel that Rosen is NFL-ready and, more importantly, the Browns feel Rosen is NFL-ready, why on earth would they not draft him #1, regardless of what Hue Jackson said about Tyrod Taylor in March?

Not sure. He's my number 1 guy. Something medical or something about his personality/background I'd reckon
Assuming we take a QB 1 or 4. I would like to see CB,RB,DE etc. depending on whom we take with our other 1st round selection. I think we can get a good WR or OT with the last pick in the 2nd i.e. DJ Chark or Kolton Miller.
With our 2nd round picks I expect the Browns to look at CB, LT, WR, DE and RB. I would think strongly about trading back into the 1st to get the right player. I would like to come out of this draft with 3 starters.
I just want a winner. We need players who can be part of the solution not part of the problem.

Oof. I dunno. Those guys are hot names lately. I think if we're getting them, it'd have to be with our first two second round picks. That last pick in the second is literally the last pick in the 2nd.
Especially Kolton Miller. There's just not a lot of decent tackles in supply this year. Some folks even think he could be a LT
Looking at all the mock drafts and simulated drafts ... Good CBs, WRs and OTs always drop. Take one of those there. You would think someone with a mid-first round grade will drop in our lap.
For the second 2nd rounder, go with the best RB left. There are about 5 guys with first round grades that are getting mocked to the second. Grab one of those guys here. As much as I like Barkley, the drop-off in talent from him to the next level of guys isn't a lot. I think we'd be much better off going with Chubb/Fitzpatrick and then grabbing our back in the 2nd round.
lol. Did I write "the writing on the tea leaves"? I know i've been typing about tea leaves, but couldn't find the post.
I think you put them in tea and see how they look and then make a prediction? Isn't that what you do?
I agree, if you think a draft pick is best, you draft them. And you don't use tea leaves or any other form of superstition (other than no qbs at 22) to pick them. I just think the Browns aren't going Rosen anymore. Based on what i know about the QBs, I disagree with them. He's the best of the bunch.
But I just don't think it's happening. That's my prediction. But I'd love to be wrong. Josh Rosen is my guy
I agree. If your guy is there and you want him, get him. If he isn't projected until a number of picks later so what. You must take him when you can. I don't worry about someone thinking we could have got him later. If I don't have a pick between when he's available and when he's slotted to go I just grab him when I can. I don't think it's a game where guys who overthink or going to drive themselves nuts with hindsight belong.
I understand what you're doing. I just think fans tend to search too hard for hidden meanings that simply don't exist. Like people thinking because we signed some FA help in the secondary means Fitz is out at the #4 pick. lol That's just crazy talk. Our entire secondary is trash and the weakest uinit on our team.
Same goes with QB. Everyone has been saying since Kizer was drafted that you should never start a rookie. That it's always a good idea to have a bridge QB when drafting a rookie QB. Now that we're doing that, you wish to claim that means we're barring drafting a certain rookie? I don't see the math in that.
And let me ask you, how long did they say that TT was going to be the starter? Four weeks, six, eight? As far as I could see TT is the named starter going into the 2018 season. That's as it should be no mater which rookie we draft.
Now I'm not saying they will draft Rosen. I have no idea. But nothing that's been done or said makes it more or less likely that they will. If people try hard enough they can read almost anything into comments that are made. But I don't see that as reading tea leaves.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Could be the case. Maybe I'm overthinking a press conference.

If I remember right, and i'm not positive because i don't want to go back to the interview. But it sounded like all of 2018. He certainly didn't say, Tyrod Taylor will be the starter of the beginning of the 2018 season.

Could certainly be the case. Maybe I'm analyzing Hue's words too closely.

Yup, this is all my opinion.
But, I stand by what I said. I don't think will be drafting Rosen or Mayfield. Although I hope we do draft one of those two, as I have it 1) Rosen 2) Mayfield 3) Darnold then a far 4) Josh Allen. With Darnold being very close to Baker, and Baker & Darrnold being a decent distance behind Josh Rosen
Didn't want to start a new thread, so I'll put this here.

Sam Hubbard's Disappointing Pro Day Could Cause Slide Updated March 23, 2018 By Charlie Campbell. Follow Charlie on Twitter @draftcampbell.
Ohio State has been a steady factory for NFL talent, churning a string of first-round picks. Defensive end Sam Hubbard has been projected to be one of the next in a very long line of Buckeye opening-round selections. However, at the Ohio State pro day, team sources say they were disappointed in his workout and now they question that first round projection.
"I would strongly consider dropping him from the first round of your mock," said a college scouting director. "He was 4.95 and 5.00 in the 40-yard dash, and that didn't surprise any of the Ohio State staff. He didn't do well in the bench press either. He was better in the field drills with good technique, but he didn't have the look of a first-round speed-and-strength kind of guy."
One thing going for Hubbard is that this draft doesn't have 32 prospects grading out as first-rounders. It varies by team, but the number of true first-rounders is around 20, give or take. Playing a premium position that always is in demand will help Hubbard as well, but team sources say that after his pro day, they think that it's possible he slips to Round 2.
If we miss out on Chubb I would love to see Hubbard at the top of the 2nd but I really don't think he makes it there someone will take him late 1st he is a great player ... JMHO
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
I love Alexander and Kirk. I think Alexander is the best DB in the draft.
Not being smart here peen but if Alexander was the best DB in the draft we would be talking about him at 4 instead of Ward, but I agree he is very good, he may go in the late 1st, in fact if he makes it to the 2nd rd. I would not be unhappy if we took him at 33 or 35 if we don't take Ward ...

I am just saying I think he will be the best. I don't care what the "experts" sayjavascript: void(0).
He could be I like what I have seen of him on tape and at the combine ...

4.82 was his shuttle time eo. He ran the 40 in 5.31 seconds.
Well that is a big time difference. I thought this kid was super fast. I watched the Wisconsin game, he did hold his own with TJ Watt as a junior, was thinking oh ok he got a lot faster his senior year...lol
Not that 40 time is essential to OTs but 4.82 at 320 lbs was amazing where I wanted the guy...lol
Ok actually wouldn't still mind him cause he did look powerful with run plays and his feet were pretty decent.
jmho
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
1, we take a QB at #1 2, we take Bradley Chubb at #4 3, our top rated players at each position have about the same rating when we draft at #33 and #35
Rank these positions in how you would draft them:
RB Wr OT Cb S
RB DB OC WR OT
It has everything to do with the value at this point in the draft. There is likely to be a run on RBs' in round two and we don't have a 3rd round pick.
DB will come off the board in bunches.
OT is pathetic this year and most will go a round or two higher then their projected value...I would obstane in round two and hope to find some value in the middle rounds for a player to be developed.
WR there is not much difference between WR#4 and WR#15 in this draft imo.
