sorry, late with response... a moot point now I guess, but you are correct in principal... my concern is that Suh may not play under the control needed to penetrate, but still be cognizant of his need to protect the edge.

Coming down too flat and he will be pinned to the inside, take too wide an angel and decent tackle will allow Suh's momentum to take him to deep and out of the running lane allowing the RB to cut under and out. Now technically there should be an OLB there to stop it, but I remember an edge rusher we had that always went too deep... for the life of me I cant remember his name... I know it used to [censored] me off to no end.

I'm still just maybe a little curious why Suh had his offer pulled? Not like his reputation needed any heavy digging on or anything. Oh well.

I think the Jets felt he wasn't seriously considering them.. just using their offers to push his real choices to higher contract $$

Your right Vers but according to PFF they both stunk. PFF Grades for our LBs

Schobert 77.4
Kirksey 59.6
His grade took a huge nose dive last year. his 2016 grade was 81.1
Burgess 43.9
Collins 35.9
This is the second year in a row Collins has gotten a poor grade from PFF. his 2016 grade was 47.6 and his 2015 grade was 89.3. Seems like he's just going thru the motions now.

Udder Ointment. You'll never buy Neosporin again.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

He is a good grit player.

You need those guys on your team.....he is much like Dorsey was as a player...not great, but a guy you wanted on your team. Dorsey and Tank are pretty much the same guy, 25 years removed.

Guys like that are important to a coach. It shows the others with super talent that effort is important, and rewarded.

He's not bad. He has his role.

IIRC, he kept getting pressed into service on defense quite a bit due to injury and/or the incompetence of others.

Lol. He just won't go away. I think he's the only one still here that actually played with Phil Dawson.

Christian Kirksey has to have been here as long as Tank Carder. NM Carder has been here longer. He's been here since 2012. The only player on the team that's been here longer than him, Josh Gordon, lol

Josh Gordon signed his deal with the Browns in July 2012. Tank Carder came on here in September 2012 after being cut by the Buffalo Bills.

Simply remarkable. Through everything, Josh Gordon is still here, on his rookie contract. And we have him for another two seasons. lol

If Gordon wasn't a screw up he'd probably have been the highest paid WR by now.

Yeah, Gordon has the as much (if not more) pure talent than OBJ, Julio, Brown, etc

Good luck to Tank. His special teams and ability to be back-up depth at linebacker has enabled him to continue to latch on here. He's gotta be the oldest Brown now, there's noone I can think of who has been here longer now that JT is retired (Gordon don't count because he's technically been here, but he's technically not ever here.)

Johnny Manziel - QB - Free Agent

Free agent Johnny Manziel said he will play in the CFL if he does not receive an offer from an NFL team.

Manziel worked out at Texas A&M's Pro Day on Tuesday after working out at San Diego's last week, where he reportedly looked good. Manziel is scheduled to participate in the Spring League next week.

All kidding aside, the guy just needs to shut up and go play a season or 2 in the CFL. If he can do that, whoop on the JV talent that's up there, develop his game while staying clean and out of trouble, then the NFL will come knocking again.

I'm voting for him just shutting up and who cares what he does lol. Kid is a joke and he'll always be that same joke to me/in my eyes. We're total morons for drafting him. End of story.

Los Angeles Chargers signing Geno Smith to 1-year deal

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...h-to-1year-deal

Insurance for Philip Rivers will come in the form of Geno Smith for the Los Angeles Chargers next season.

The Bolts announced Sunday they agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the former New York Giants and New York Jets quarterback.

Smith, who will presumably slide in as Rivers' backup in 2018, heads into a quarterback room that also features Cardale Jones.

In two games for the Giants last season, Smith completed 21 of 36 passes for 212 yards, one score and no interceptions. The Jets' 2013 second-round pick, Smith has started 31 games in his five-year career.

I'd rather have Stanton thank Geno, which is strange to say

Both Stanton and Geno were signed in the hopes that they do not see the field. I think Stanton's role is more of a mentor for our shiny new rookie QB. So in this sense, I absolutely would rather have Stanton than Geno Smith as well.

I am amazed anybody picked Geno up, period. I mean, geezy, Manziel is out there right now today! What are they thinking?

I was a Geno hater coming out and he was a bust for being drafted high, but I actually think he is a rock solid backup. Good arm, mobile, experienced and has shown some flashes.

The thing with him (at least when he was with the Jets), is the he was ridiculously inconsistent and didn't have the best work ethic.

But, I agree, as a backup, could be worse

Not sticking up for Geno, I would not want him on our team - but he wasn't exactly given an environment to excel much in either.
