He had no more of a chance to succeed than Kizer. He didn't have any more of a team behind him than the next guy.

Cody didn't have hte tools that Kizer had. His strength was an ability to throw great short range passes to the middle of the field. He was a master of the inside slant.


But he had major limitations, and didn't show any indication that he'd improve pushing the ball down the field. But Jacksonville might be good for him.

I'm shocked they got more than a bucket of KFC.

It's a conditional pick ... so it's still possible we'll get less than the bucket.

That's a perfect team for him to go to. They run the crap out of the ball, and play great defense. All he would have to do, if called upon, is to not make a lot of mistakes.

Might not get that bucket from KFC, but we could happily be satisfied with the popcorn chicken snack box.

I like Kesseler still, I think he can be a nice little backup.

I'd agree with that. But Cody's bread and butter was the short part of the field (where he was very accurate), making it very hard to run the ball and allowing hte defense to challenge him to push the ball any distance, thus giving them a big advantage.


Cody throws great short passes, but he has an unwillingness to push the ball further than that, and his arm isn't very strong. It's something that has been an issue since college.

If Colt can, Kessler most certainly can be a steady #2.

I heard on the radio that Kessler has to be on the Jags' active roster for 6 games in 2018 for the Browns to get that 7th round pick. Seems unlikely if they still have Chad Henne backing up Bortles.

Kess will probably end up going to the Super Bowl this season w/the Jags.

That's ok because Dorsey is quietly building our dynasty.

I remember last year when I caught so much grief for saying Cody did not have the tools to be a good qb.

Heck, I even remember when he was a rookie how a poster went off on me and others agreed w/him when I disputed that Cody was not better than Wentz.

when you draft Cody Kessler your franchise is not trying to win.
when your franchise trades for Carson Wentz it is
