You are way over the top on this issue.

We still have our Military alliances in tact with the rest of our allies in the West. That has actually strengthened. Mattis was in Europe assuring that fact.

But our "Friends" have been robbing us blind with our Trade deals and that must stop. We demand a level trading field for the future. The time of taking advantage of us is over.

Perhaps you allow your friends to walk into your house, eat all your groceries and take pieces of your furniture as they leave while leaving you a bill for the cost of their gas purchased coming to visit you.

Those Western friends of ours are hurting our economy and our workers as they take advantage of our past stupidity.

No more.

"PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, “US Tariffs were kind of insulting” and he “will not be pushed around.” Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!"

President of the United States
-Donald Trump

Canada already has a 270% Tariff on Dairy? How much does that hurt our Farmers? Crazy.

GOP strategist: Trump 'beclowned himself' at G7 summit

Republican strategist Steve Schmidt said Sunday that President Trump "beclowned himself" and disgraced the United States at the G7 summit.

"From his slovenly appearance to his unpreparedness, ignorance and arrogance, he beclowned himself," tweeted Schmidt, one of the loudest GOP critics of Trump. "The Republican majority is filled with cowards who are servile supplicants to the most unfit POTUS ever."

Schmidt, a former aide to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and an MSNBC analyst, also called Russian President Vladimir Putin "the greatest intelligence agent - ever" in a separate tweet.

"He has engineered the unraveling of the western alliance, fidelity to democracy in the United States and the severing of the UK from the EU. It's a remarkable achievement," he tweeted of Putin.

Schmidt has been highly critical of Trump and his administration. Earlier this year, he compared Trump's staff to monkeys "hurling their excrement at each other."

Trump made headlines at the G7 summit Saturday when he called for Russia to be readmitted to the group, after being removed over the annexation of Crimea. Other world leaders in the group rejected the proposal.

Trump also refused to back a joint communique issued by the participating nations at the end of the summit, and slammed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as "very dishonest & weak."

He actually whored himself out to the WWE in the early 1990's... just to keep his name in the media.

1. He ran a confidence scam disguised as a 'real estate techniques' seminar and called it a 'University.' Scammed money outright from desperate 'Ordinary Joes' looking to turn around their lives and fortunes. Most Americans didn't fall for it. Some Americans did.

Quote:
The organization was not an accredited university or college. It did not confer college credit, grant degrees, or grade its students.[3] In 2011, the company became the subject of an inquiry by the New York Attorney General's office for illegal business practices that resulted in a lawsuit filed in 2013.*

2. He tried to sell America a low-quality vodka, branded as 'high end.' Most Americans didn't buy/drink it. Some Americans did.
3. He tried to run a high-end 'Omaha Steaks game'... with low-end gamey steaks. Most Americans didn't buy/eat them. Some Americans did.
4. He filed bankruptcy on a freakking casino franchise, for crap's sake! (Whose casinos LOSE money? How does something like that even happen?)
Most Americans never went to those places. Some Americans did... and told tales about how great the experience was! superconfused

And all of this happened before he dug to a new low... and became: King of the Birthers.
Most Americans paid no attention to his comical, ridiculous sideshow barker act.
Some Americans did.

There are lots and lots of people who voted R, despite the actual 2016 candidate. Those, I have always understood. Some wanted change. Some hated HRC. Some wanted a different primary candidate to win, but voted R with no enthusiasm or a held nose. Some just voted R, like some just vote D. And many others.

But then, there are those who were/are genuinely attracted to this kind of person/behavior.

Folks who enjoy this sideshow-level of thoughtlessness that attempts to substitute hubris/showmanship/chutzpah for intellect, education, scholarship, class, insight, foresight, or basic 20/20 eyesight. Folks who give opinion blogs by unschooled bloviators the same intellectual consideration as learned scholars/authors who earned their ways into publications like Scientific American, just because their favorite bloviator's crap 'sounds better.' Folks who cheered The Heel, when they watched World-Wide Wrasslin.' Folks who identified with Biff Tannen, even though everyone else already knew how the show would end. Folks who cheered the oafish clod who gums up the works, spreads chaos and dysfunction, and clowns The System with his own moronic ineptitude.

You know... the 'family branches' the rest of the tree wishes would just snap off prior to this year's annual summer reunion?

This is who they love.
This is what they want.
This is what they like.
This is what they know.

And this is what they will always defend, no matter how stupid, boorish, or illegitimate.

Because: "He's one of us!"

Except: he's not one of them.
They are one of his.

Don't argue with them here.

Get a bunch of your friends to register. If they are already registered, get them out on the streets to register others.

Load a bunch of your friends in a limo/cab/uber and have a rolling voter's party this November. Organize a neighborhood meeting... and educate those nearby who's running, what they stand for, and where to vote, come 11/18.

If you're like me, you aren't trying to convince Trumplodytes that they are wrong. You are spending more and more of your time convincing real life neighbors that you are right. (I do this DT stuff on my personal free time)

FYI, entire board: A current member of our DT community has actually applied/campaigned/ran/won a primary election to qualify as an official candidate for a state seat this fall. I couldn't be prouder to call him a friend, and will do all I can to help him, even if I can't directly vote for him.

A 'Manchurian Candidate' actually won the highest office in the land in 2016.
Americans are awake now... and are taking their country back- from the bottom up.

Case in point... you'll end up sleeping through the continuous destruction of US institutions and then blame Obama somehow when you wake up... So why do you hate America so much to let this pompous culo disassemble it piece by piece... plain ignorance? (I could almost accept that as a viable excuse)

Ignorance is no longer a legitimate excuse.

We now live in an age where the entire repository of the world's accumulated knowledge is available on a hand-held device that is available to nearly all of us.

Because of that inescapable fact, willful stupidity at Vambo's level is even more inexcusable than it was for 'flat earthers' back in 1492.

Trump not only embarrassed himself, but our country.

Why don't you show some of the hissy fit statements he put out on social media that make him look like a 4th grader?

Look - Trump has said some great things. And maybe those 2 comments you just quoted sound great to you when taken in isolation .... unfortunately it's the other 99% of the time and the other 99.8% of the things he says that make him look like a spoiled child.

China threatened to match us dollar for dollar on the tariffs.

So Trump announces $200 billion in new tariffs.

China just looked and found out they only buy $130 billion from the United States.

I love that 40 projects insight and strategy onto a guy who doesn't understand what a trade deficit is and whose economic policy is based on what his young dumb self understood to be economics in the late 1970's.

So, according to NPR this morning, the other measures China is discussing because they only buy 130 billion is to double the tariffs imposed. Some of the tariffs on our products will be up to 40%.

We cut every kind of break to China over the decades in order to bring them into the world economy. We felt it was better they be a part of the system than working from the outside and disrupting trade.

Success! China has now grown its economy and has become a part of the world economy. It is now time to level the playing field and to stop taking advantage of us.

If they are not willing to trade fair then maybe it was a mistake letting them in at all.

Or when China just quits selling products to us altogether and calls in their debt while urging the rest of the world to abandon the dollar.

See, this is what I just don't get.

Everyone wants to buy 'cheap' (or, cheaper, price wise, stuff).

Yet everyone thinks they should be paid more for what THEY do. (and that raises the prices of whatever product they make/sell).

The same people that want paid more then go buy the stuff made cheaper overseas. The u.s. loses jobs.

It's just crazy, imo. Pay ME more for what I do, give ME more benefits, so I can buy stuff made cheaper overseas that used to be produced here.

I don't really understand it myself. I do however fully understand that's the way it is. I used to pay more to buy American. Examples are Levi, Carhardt, Redwing boots, GM vehicles and once in a while, for work, Ford Trucks.

The only one of those products still made in America are the automobiles.

But what I try to keep in mind is a lot of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. A lot of people simply can't afford to pay more. And no matter what excuses one uses for no rise in the minimum wage, when I started out you could pay rent and buy food on minimum wage. Not anymore. Workers starting out have gone backwards by a large degree while CEO's are making record setting wages.

Some people have no choice except to buy the cheapest things they can find. Some are just selfish and greedy.

Is that why everyone has a 700 cell phone? You may be surprised, that I agree with a lot of what you said, but to act like people do not spend what they don't have, and blame their situations on others is an easy excuse.

No doubt.

But I'm talking about people that have 3, 4 tv's, cellphones for every member of the family, 2 car payments, a mortgage, a boat in their driveway.......I'm not talking about minimum wage people.

But, you bring up minimum wage. My daughter started a job back in March or so. Due to school, sports, etc, she was only getting about 5-8 hours a week. Minimum wage.

She's gotten a raise already. She no longer makes minimum wage. And, she's getting 20-25 hours a week now that her schedule has opened up due to no h.s. (still has a college class she's taking though), no sports - er, much more limited sports.

I just don't see where any gainfully employed person, that shows up and does a good job, is making minimum wage for years, or even 6 months.

And again, I'll grant you that people making minimum wage have to buy the cheapest. But, those aren't the people I was talking about.

Heck, we've seen threads on here about this very thing. The middle class, the rich - all want more money for what they do here, but all buy a product because it costs less if it's made somewhere else. "Give me my raise, and benefits for what I do, so I can buy the same product you make from a company from overseas." JMO.

I believe you're older than me, but, when I started working back in 1984, I believe minimum wage was $3.35. (I might be mistaken on that - that's a long time ago. Say it was $3.50.)

At 3.50 X 40 hours a week, that's $140 a week. Around $580 a month. I find it hard to believe I could've rented an apartment, and bought food, on $580 a month, before taxes.

But, I didn't stay at minimum wage for long, either. And that was just a summer job.

Shoot, there are full time jobs, with benefits, available right here in town. Starting at $16 an hour. Production jobs. Granted, that's 2nd shift, which most consider the 'worst' shift.

I've spoken about a construction company (road) that starts people off at $16 an hour for flag people. $20 an hour for newbie machine operators. And it goes up quickly from there IF you show up and are reliable. Granted, some long hours. (which means overtime)

People at that company - friends of mine that started out of high school are making triple digit incomes.

Friend that's a CFO of a manufacturing company instituted a retroactive $2.00 per hour raise for: Simply showing up and working 40 hours per week. (retroactive meaning the starting wage is around $13 an hour, and if you showed up and worked for 80 hours each 2 week period - you got paid $15 an hour. And we're not talking NY cost of living. And that's starting out - day 1)

Again, granted, these are all 'crappy' jobs for the people that think they are above manual labor. You know, the college grads that feel they should start at the top, be able to work at a desk, and work from home a day or 2 each week.

That CFO friend? He actually had to fire his brother. His brother was in sales. $50,000 a year in salary, $500 per month in car allowance, plus bonuses of up to $15,000 a year for exceeding the sales quota.

Dude wanted to 'work from home' too much, and didn't 'work from home'.

I don't know. Sooner or later it will hurt some more than us.

We are a consumer nation....a big consumer. We don't produce nearly as much as we once did.

Maybe the President wants us to fire up the furnaces more and import less?

I don't know. Sure it will cost more, we don't pay people a few dollars a day.

I don't know if you know this, but middle Tennessee had maybe 100 shoe manufactures 30 years ago. If any are left, it's not many....No more Buster Brown or Thom McCann.....you remember those brands. Most of the plants are probably still there. Just the jobs and people aren't.

I don't like President Trump a whole lot, but he is pro USA and wants to bring jobs back here. Not just high tech jobs, but jobs for the average Joe and Jane.

That is what has happened to the middle class and the widening wage gap. It's not CEO's making more. It's the average person who once could make a living wage producing some product, be it shoes, cars, steel, or whatever not having jobs anymore.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

No, if you read what I said and not just half of it you would have seen it was not out of the goodness of our hearts.

I said...

By the way, I see where Canada is coming to its senses...

The Ontario general election of 2018 was held on June 7, 2018, to elect the 124 members of the 42nd Parliament of Ontario. The Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, led by Doug Ford, won a majority government. The Ontario New Democratic Party, led by Andrea Horwath, formed the Official Opposition. The Ontario Liberal Party, led by incumbent Premier Kathleen Wynne, lost official party status in recording both the worst result in the party's 161-year history and the worst result for any incumbent governing party in Ontario.

Those crazy-spending Libs are gone. The PC party is only slightly right-of-center so they are not a mirror image of the Trumpists. Incidentally, Doug Ford is the brother of ex-Toronto mayor Rob Ford...remember him? Ford is expected to be very active in the current trade/tariff war...gonna be interesting.

I love how conservatives have to pass themselves off as liberal to get support. How many Conservative YouTubers call themselves 'classical liberal'?
