They sure liked to show all of our crappy stats and crappy streaks on the tv today like a mockery. I hope this win shuts them up a bit. Next one to get is a road win and I think that is all they have left. It's kind of stale. Every game we (Browns fans) have to be reminded of the 1000 starting quarterbacks since '99. Like we didn't already know guys.
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

I love the feeling of a win.
- Mayfield continues to make exceptional plays every week. - Jarvis Landry not getting out of bounds was exceptionally boneheaded. - Special Teams, while improved, is still a major problem. - I love Denzel Ward. - I love Myles Garrett - David Njoku has unlimited potential if he could just be a little consistent. - Higgins has continued to show up in big spots, I hope his injury is not serious. - Callaway's hands need work also. - I think we had two dropped INTs, this defense is really good. - Ogunjobi makes at least one huge play every week.

For Calloway and Njoku, the game is still too fast for them, on a more established team they would still be on the bench. A lot like Higgins until this year.
I remember Malcolm Floyd when he first came out, all arms and so many near missed. Eventually he got it and became a pretty good and reliable receiver.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

The culture of losing is evaporating right in front of our eyes. I repost this sentence, because I think that THIS is what Cleveland's 2018 season is about. A season of change. We've all bounced around that tired old cliche: "This team needs to learn how to win." Well... that's what this season is shaping up to be. This team's record could easily be 1-2-2, had the Browns not push their personal boundaries during overtime. This game could very easily have ended in a tie. Instead, these young players found a way to out-grit The Baltimore (freakkin) Ravens. In overtime. THIS is how a young team learns to win. Low-scoring Defensive game. Division rival. Smashmouth. This game aged me 2 years in the time it took to watch. There were at least 4 moments when Brownies could have folded under adversity. They did not fold. That show of character was as important to me ans seeing them win a game. I now have confidence that the locker room is tight, supportive, in in good hands. I'd really like to see them drop a score-filled blowout or D shutout soon, just to add to the learning experience. WHY" Because, winning exposes character flaws just as much a losing does. And they also need to learn how to handle success. I wanna see the D play a game one week after a shutout. I wanna see the O pull it together after a 42-point scoring run against a team like they faced today. Brownies needed this win. And I'm actually glad that it was one of those ugly 'AFCN grinders' that we usually lose (what would previous Browns season records look like, had we won even 40-50% of those games?). Our team has always had a reputation of being too 'soft' for the AFCN. Today's game did much to dispel that reputation. This tam comes to play NFL football.

I don't think the defense is getting enough love. Not even close. They won this game. Completely agree. Flacco has been great thus far. J/C - I also don’t understand the comments saying Garrett is underwhelming or whatever. He’s getting pressure MOST plays, he’s improved immeasurably against the run - the dude is a beast and a key piece and part of how the defense goes. He’s 5th league wide with 4.5 sacks and the pressure has contributed to a league leading number of takeaways. Others are playing lights out too - Ogunjobi, Schobert, Ward but you take Garrett out I wager we’d see a noticeable difference. We won!!!!!!!!

Man, almost forgot about the 2 INTs we dropped .. I felt both would have sealed the game, or given us a WAY better chance to win
And Landry's boneheaded move not to get out of bounds
But the final drive made up for it
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Hard to believe with 31 kickers on other teams and 7 billion people in the world, that there is no better kicker available. My fav posted quote of the day.

Hue should get some credit because we won. Williams and Haley should get credit also. The thing I noticed is that the team is playing hard for the coaches and not giving up and folding like in the past. Thay says a lot right there.

Couldn’t agree more .... as bad as we were ... the one thing i always respected and thought had to be a good sign was the teams never gave up on Hue ... we were playing as hard as we could in week 17 against the Stilers back ups as we were in week 1 against the3re starters ... that said something ... This year ...we have some talent and when we don’t quit witch Hue obviously instills in his players .... u get results like yesterday ... So IMPRESSED with Hue’s leadership .... what were seeing in the locker room is GREAT STUFF ... and there’s obviously some leaders within the team but Hue has a lot to do wth that also ... YO WILL ... u gotta change your sig again dawg ...

Which is why it's important to win games .. because eventually that effort can dissipate, even slightly, if wins don't occur. Winning certainly breeds winning IMO.

I kind of thought that was what we saw last week. Against the Raiders I thought our D did not play up to their ability, and I wondered if it was from believing their own hype from the previous games, and hoped it was a wake up call that every week is it's own opportunity that you must always meet with 100% effort.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Just a few thoughts:
- D showed up big today. Huge. After getting shredded vs the Raiders, they came to play and shut down a good offense. When you score 12 in the NFL and win, the win goes to the defense
- Ward. Wow. Look, I wanted Minkah at that pick. After our safety play last year I saw FS as the biggest need. And since Randall hadn't played FS since college and GB gave him away for next to nothing, I did not feel strongly. Couldn't be happier with Ward and Randall. This is why I put umbrellas in beach drinks and not actually build an NFL roster.
- Anyway, Ward. Wow.
- Whoever filled in for Mithcell, nice work.
- Peppers had a really nice game. Calling out the fans will not stop criticism, backtracking from your statements will not either. Playing like you did Sunday, that will do the trick. Nice work out there.
- Collins had a nice half.
- Hyde is rightfully still the starter.
- Mayfield can make some plays. He is fun to watch. He gives me the feeling that things can happen. The team feels it, too. Been said many times, but the culture seems to be changing.
- I still do not like our kicker.
- Great to see the team after the game. They are all behind Hue. Maybe the fans can get there as well.

I said it previously I'll say it again Willies was huge at the end I really think without him we dont win this game. It was a total team win. Willies was key to sealing the deal at the end.

hats off to Harrison. He had a good day. Thank goodness our defense held up until our offense did enough to scrape a win. Please call Berea if you know of any available kickers.

j/c: Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield continued his strong play to start his career, despite another interception that occurred early in the game when there was a miscommunication with receiver Rashard Higgins. Outside of that, Mayfield protected the ball, made timely conversions, and drove the Browns into field goal range multiple times, before the Browns finally won it in overtime. Much has been made of the improvement of rookie UDFA left tackle Desmond Harrison over the past three games, but he got his first real test against the Ravens Terrell Suggs today. Needless to say, he struggled to block him, as the future Hall of Famer bull-rushed Harrison all game long, which forced Mayfield off his spot for much of the afternoon. Safety Jabrill Peppers was noticeable on defense, flying around making plays on defense. Peppers was disruptive against the run, blowing up a block on a stretch run to the outside which led to a significant loss on the play. He also forced incompletions downfield and laid a big hit in the end zone on a tipped ball that still had a chance to be caught. Denzel Ward was a busy man in coverage today. Targeted early and often, Ward made some nice plays on the ball and showed some tight coverage throughout the day. Ward was tasked with covering John Brown quite often and did a nice job of staying with the shifty receiver throughout the game for the most part. It wasn’t all perfect, however, as he did miss a couple of tackles after the catch due to poor pursuit angles. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pr...timore-ravens-9
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I thought Harrison did a great job on Suggs. He gave up a couple of pressures, but he pretty much stoned him all game long. You could see Suggs getting frustrated.

Yep. I've been critical of Peppers, but he had a fantastic game.
I don't remember the quarter, but he set the edge on a run play that we blew up for a loss. I suppose he did more than "set the edge", he exploded up there, threw himself into the lead block way ahead of the run pattern and everyone else came to clean that up. All I could think of, while I pumped my fist, was how the board would be praising him for that effort. THAT was why we drafted him.

Man what a game huh? down to the wire and we pulled it out.
I give a lot of credit to the coaching staff. In the past Hue has gotten flamed by near about everyone on here, I still think that was short sighted. When a team lacks the proper personnel to properly execute, it looks like the coach made a bad call. Yeah he has made some mistakes, as have we all. In reality, he had crap to work with and was just trying to make something, anything happen. Now, he has tools to work with, and his calls do not seem as boneheaded, funny how that works. The entire coaching staff (minus special teams) has done a great job.
I really think we can put the QB position to bed. Baker is our franchise guy. He makes me forget he's a rookie a lot of the time.
Ward...wow Garrett...hes almost constantly double teamed and still disrupts.
hats off to Dorsey for putting this roster together.

Harrison had a great game. Also wanted to mention that we were not killed by TEs. That seems to be a first. What was up with that one Raven TE who was making his first appearance yesterday? I never heard of him, but they were making it seem like a big deal.

Not only did we block a fg and have our pointer possibly be special teamed of the week if there is such an AWARD .... BUT something no ones mentioned but was HUGE ... Rats punt with under two to go in the first half ... Peppers fields it at the 10 returns it to the 22 ... 12 YARD RETURN WITH NO FLAG ... thats like our best return all year ... SAD but HUGE ... Rats last unt in OT ... same scenario ... 12 yard return and i believe this one was from deeper in our territory ... maybe he fielded it at like the 7 ... THOSE WERE HUGE IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS ... Our ST’S while not perfect were HUGE ...

Lber's were mostly bad, like always, Schobert, in some crucial plays he looks completly lost. It was their best game because it was the game where they were the least challenged. Problem with Peppers isn't the flashy plays, problem with him is discipline and reliability. But all in all it was a good game for him, not only for him but for Collins also. Flacco isn't that good picking apart D's....

If someone told me, after 5 weeks, that the Browns would have the same record as: -Green Bay -Minnesota -Pittsburgh
I'd be pretty happy. Let's hope the Browns can keep getting better!

For the second week in a row, the Cleveland Browns played deep into overtime. Once again, the starting offensive line stayed together and played the entire game.
That’s the biggest takeaway from the snap counts from Cleveland’s 12-9 win over the visiting Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.
The starting line, from Desmond Harrison at left tackle across to Chris Hubbard on the right side, played every single one of the 80 offensive snaps.
They were joined by Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry as iron men on the offense. David Njoku followed at 72 reps.
In the backfield, Duke Johnson saw the most action at 41 snaps, just over half. Carlos Hyde played 28 and Nick Chubb 11. That’s a career-high for the rookie, more than doubling the five reps he saw against the Jets in Week 3.
On defense, three players emerged as iron men: Damarious Randall, Joe Schobert and Denzel Ward. All three were on the field for every one of Baltimore’s 87 offensive snaps.
In the CB spot opposite Ward, E.J. Gaines saw the bulk of the action at 78 reps. T.J. Carrie played 55 and no other cornerback played a single rep. Briean Boddy-Calhoun worked in at safety for just one snap, the second time this season the 2017 standout has played just one rep.

The Ravens were averaging 31 points going into yesterday.
They didn't score a TD despite having excellent field position.
Ward, I mean what can you say? He stopped ten points. The int was not all him but still. The block was.
This young man has had a tremendous impact on this team. I didn't know much about him. Don't watch a ton of college games just the big ones. Or the ones that have a player I have interest in.
So when the draft happened and we took Ward; I just trusted Dorsey. I am thrilled about Dorsey. I mean Randall, Mayfield, Ward, Avery, Laundry. Look at the talent he has brought.
And for any of you who don't believe that Hue Jackson is not driving this team and has the belief of his players; you are dead wrong.
If you watched Hard Knocks and watched this team after the win yesterday it is crystal clear.

Agree.
I think Hue has done a very good job coaching this team this year and admittedly, I was not a huge fan of the hire 3 years ago.
I think Hue being the HC and not HC/OC has been significant that regard.

Yet me lost to Oakland in a team meltdown.... Cameback against the Jets because they though it was in the bag... And yes, IMHO Ward and Randall make all the difference playing teams like the Ravens... Mayfield not so much

Missed blocks, missed pass catches, and 3 carries for 2 yards will make that happen. OK, against Oakland there were posters who got bent out of shape when others did not give Baker full credit for Chubb getting 100+ yards on 3 carries. This week, when the 3 carries only got him 2 yards, should Baker get the blame?
