The only power ranking i care about is

2 - 2 - 1 .... 1.5 out of first ... .5 out of 2nd and tied with the stilers for 3rd ...

The Bolts are up next ...

Thats all that matters to me ....

LETS GOOOOOOoooooooooooo ...

It's a feel good story, for casual fans.

We've been garbage for years, laughing-stocks.

We were on Hard Knocks this summer.

Bake comes in and puts a jolt of electricity into our O on a Thursday night.
we play in OT games almost every week, we're a scrappy bunch of hungry dogs.

14?

We're #13 in USA Today's Power Ranking. wink

NFL power rankings Week 6: Chargers replace Jaguars in latest top five
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nf...nts/1562414002/

13. Browns (24): Finally, a "streak" they don't want to break. Cleveland could extend run of consecutive wins at home over Chargers to three this Sunday.

SI has us at 23. (which I personally think is low)

NFL Power Rankings: Rams No. 1, Texans make big jump | SI.com
https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/10/09/nfl-power-rankings-2018

23. CLEVELAND BROWNS (2-2-1)

Last Week’s rank: 26
Points in poll: 85
Highest-place vote: 21 (2)
Lowest-place vote: 25 (1)
Last week’s result: Win 12-9 (OT) vs. Baltimore
Next game: vs. Los Angeles Chargers

I declare that we stop talking about the Browns the way we have the last few years. It’s no longer a novelty when they win. They are an average team, capable of winning any week.

Didn't want to start a thread because power rankings are worthless, but when was the last time we were ranked 16th?! Again, rankings are worthless but perhaps not completely meaningless. Shows that we are starting to get a little bit of respect.

Of course the Bengals were #7, Ravens who we beat #11 and Stealers who we tied and have the same record as is #12. So maybe we aren't getting that much respect.

I think it's funny that we tied the Steelers and beat the Ravens, yet we are ranked behind all the division teams too.

I think if we would have got the win against the Raiders we would be ahead of both the Steelers & the Ravens.

I think they give those two teams the higher ranking because we played each of them at home.

No, sir.
We own 3rd outright as we hold (two) tiebreakers on them.
First, we have Division record, second we have common opponents (Ravens).

We may have the same record, but they are in the basement by their lonesome.

Browns is the Browns

I agree with most of what you said, but I disagree with this sentence. In the last 2 games we have had 4th quarter leads and could not prevent the other team from tying the game and send it into OT. We were able to win the last, but I believe closing out games would be preventing the other team scoring.

That's what I said we are learning to close out games.

I'm not going to start a new thread about this .... but man, Colin Coward must not watch a single game, and runs his mouth anyway.

He said, about Mayfield's game this past Sunday, "bunch of FGs", and "FG contest" ..... except that we scored a TD and 2 FG, with a missed XP.

That's what I said we are learning to close out games.

The Steelers scored with 6 minutes left to go in the 3rd quarter and we shut them out for the next 41 minutes of game time.. 9 possessions...

The Jets kicked one FG from early in the 2nd quarter on...

The Ravens kicked one FG from the middle of the 3rd quarter on...

The Saints and the Raiders scored a lot of late points.

In the 3 "good" defensive games, with 3 4th quarters and 2 OTs, (which adds up to more than a full game of football) we gave up 6 points... you can't expect that every week.. it's totally unrealistic. At some point, even with a lead, there has to be some responsibility on the offense to keep scoring... which they also have done.

He's no different than Steven A or Skip Bayless...

Those guys aren't good enough for prime time, so they have to say outrageous things, and have little quarrels (like Skip nitpicking Lebron) so that their stuff goes viral, while most of the country is at work.

Cowherd has been nitpicking Mayfield for months now, and at this point, it's becoming a thing.

Also, why is it cool if Ben and Flacco play a low scoring defensive battle, but when a rookie QB does it in the same type of game, you have to go after him? To make headlines. Anybody who knows football, knows that sometimes two teams in this division go at it, and it's really physical and really tightly played, even with the league slanting everything towards the offense. Just the way it goes, and Mayfield has done a great job in his very first test of it.

But man, that commercial with Cowherd talking about how the good looking kid in school becomes the QB.... cringey

People have been calling them the new Kardiac Kids. But that was a generation ago.

These are the Kardiac GrandKids!

They really are. 2007 was like this too, but we also had a few comfy wins.

I fully expect another nail biter Sunday.

I'm ready for a few comfy wins myself.
I thought the Oakland game was gonna be one when we was up 28-14 and had the ball.
I was sure wrong.
