I didn't want Hue fired after the start of the year but man this team has quit. They aren't improving and Hue looked defeated 2 mins into the game. Just rip the bandaide off and get it over with.

Jimmy Haslam is in charge. The opposite of what should happen will happen.

He has to go. I’m tired of seeing this.

We can’t finish games, have 2 blowouts on the season already.

This is the stat that bothers me the most: our defense is the top ranked defense in the league in turnovers.

Our offense is worse in the league in points off of turnovers.

It’s beyond pathetic.

Who takes over if he's fired?

Hate to say it but he's seemed to have lost them. Maybe just not HC material. It happens.

It can't be Haley. The offense has been too bad. It can't be Williams, he literally set up a bounty system to hurt opposing players.

I'd make it Dewayne Walker. Former head coach in college.

Giving rookies whose heads are already spinning more change will help how?

I get the frustration, I just don't see the move helping.

Pare down the playbook and get good at something that's already in place.

What's changing? Hue just sits at his desk and texts Silver and MKC all day anyway. Just give Moose his office and no one will know the difference.

I can't picture Hue texting. He wouldn't hear his own voice. rolleyesdevil

We've stayed the course this long. Seeing it to the end of the season seems the best of a bunch of unpleasant options. Get more reps, see what happens.

Unfortunately, I agree. Nothing will be gained from moving on, which is why I've always preferred to keep Hue through the season. However, now, there is something to be lost. We can lose games with no hope of victory, and get our future QB murdered, or we can lose games with little hope of victory, and protect our future QB.

Sadly, I'm not seeing the scheme from Haley that would make me want to keep him at OC. If our pass pro is complete garbage (it is), we should be running between the tackles most of the time, and only occasionally throwing quick timing routes and screens.

My proposal is to promote Haley, but give Kitchens or Zampese the OC duties. Again, not that this is a solution. Simply a means of stemming the bleeding.

I hate change. I hate it. But I don't see any way that the 2019 season begins with any of our top 3 coaches in place.

The head coach is encouraging bad habits. It's a gots to go situation.

I don't see it now. We definitely won't see it if we change things this week.

I'd wait at least till the bye. And try to hold out for the season.

I want Hue fired immediately before he does any additional damage to Baker Mayfield. Mayfield is all I care about at this point in time.

Agreed. Wait for what? There is no reason to wait, I'd fire him tonight. Its not like he's going to improve, all of sudden change. We know what Hue Jackson is.

I'm for firing Haley before Hue at this point in the season. After the season, it wouldn't bother me at all if he is canned.

I don't see Haley or Williams magically fixing things. They're just as culpable for the "bad habits" of their respective units.

The options I like are busy coaching other teams. That won't change til the season is over.

Those options are likely to have a rough transition period, too, whenever that time comes.

Hue should never have been brought back. Haslam botched that decision, unsurprisingly.

The team is regressing each week and playing completely uninspired.

Tension amongst the coaches is infecting the team.

I'm not sure they will win another game this year.

At this point (and I'm assuming we keep Haley), I don't see any other direction to go...

Yes, you did. You missed the biggest one of all.

Jimmy Haslam is in charge. If he doesn't do something, then people will know that there is no accountability.

Likely? As others have noted the past several days, quick turnarounds are not unusual and many have occurred recently.

Hopefully a shorter rough period. But it's much easier to get through it during an offseason.

It doesn't help that our rookies weren't supposed to get forced into action during the offseason, so we spent most of that time getting Tyrod and Josh Gordon and Hyde and Higgins ready.

Why is it any more time to go "this week" vs last offseason or after 2016?

If it's true he had a 6 year contract, maybe the ownership wants him to see it through for the entirety of his contract.

Only ownership can fire the coach, I believe, not the fans or the media.

Hue Jackson is 11-44-1 (.205) as an NFL head coach: 8-8 in Oakland, 3-36-1 in Cleveland.
Of the 219 coaches in NFL history who coached at least 40 games, Jackson ranks 218th in career winning percentage.
Only Bert Bell, who couldn't be fired because he owned the team, was worse.

The Rams fired Jeff Fisher mid-season. Just get the poison out of the system before it spreads any further.

2 things to me:

1. We've gotten worse
2. We didn't play as hard today

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I'd at least wait until years end....its not like we are in the running for the sb....

I'm wondering how things will look once we get some guys back...Higgins, Shobert, maybe Mitchell at seasons end....

Personally, I'd give him another year....its not like we are going places without him....get more pieces and look for progress....

I wish to wash my Irish wristwatch......
