Positive: We executed 2 successful screens to Duke! We haven't properly run a screen in YEARS.

Negative: We still do that stupid play on 3rd and 5 where we throw it 3-4 yards. IT NEVER WORKS. FOR 20 YEARS WE RUN THE SAME PLAY ON 3RD DOWN, AND ALMOST ALWAYS FAIL. STOP DOING IT PLEASE. *phew*, sorry, I just hate that play so much.

chances hue watched yesterday?

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I can't help but feel after all these years the thrill is at least somewhat gone for me watching the Browns, especially these last 2 games. This last Sunday I recorded the game and watched it live, then took a nap during it, watched what I missed when I woke up and then went shopping towards the end of it, then watched the rest when I came home.

From now on if I have something better to do when they play? I'm doing it, and something better includes napping. Yes, I'm serious.

I'll still watch 'em, but sometimes I'll be watching it delayed, on my DVR. My thinking now is why set yourself up for misery? With the Browns, you usually know what you are getting.

P.S. It's better without the huddles and all the commercials anyhow.

I realized yesterday that IF baker would to get hurt or not play, I'd have zero interest in watching this team anymore this year.

Also, was Harrison listed on the injury report at all?

Wonder if he was a Hue guy

They said he had some kind of illness on Friday, so I'm assuming it was that. We better play the best players, regardless of being "Hue guys" or not.

I just meant maybe Gregg/kitches viewed Robinson as the best player at that spot and Hue didnt

Our defense started the year strong, but injuries and lack of quality at depth has hurt. We don't have a powerful offense to overcome the defenses shortcomings.

We went into this year hoping the offense would be OK, not great, just OK, and that the defense would keep us in games and give the offense a chance.

But the last few weeks the defense is not stopping teams consistently, and we still do not have the offense that can carry the game on their backs and put up 30+ points.

The number of missed tackles, or screens passes that go for 20+ yards is un-nerving. Wide open receivers without a defender around them for 5+ yards, running backs find the hole and are gone. We give up way too many big plays, and don't make enough of our own on offense.

Another thing about our defense: it's like clockwork ... other teams OC's know Gregg's tendency to blitz on 3rd and long or at the cusp of FG range ... they screen us to death and we get torched

Heck, I barely had interest with him in the game.

Baker has to step it up. PERIOD. Play calling did improve, but there were quite a few missed opportunities and bad throws yesterday on Bakers part.

Then the defense. I've been complaining about Gregg Williams for the longest now. The only thing I like about him is that he brought the 4-3 to Cleveland (after years of failure of trying to get the right personnel to run a 3-4 defense). I hate with a passion how he plays the secondary with all the blitzing he does. I'll give him a slight pass for yesterday due to all the injuries, but even when we had everyone healthy, his calls are questionable.

Gregg will be gone next year. Amos will be gone next year.

Amos should have been gone with Haley and Hue, but I digress.

I agree on Baker. I thought he played better yesterday, BUT he was inaccurate on 5-6 throws that he MUST complete IMO

Man are we banged up on D.. Yikes.... Still, we played perhaps the most prolific Offense right now and handled it kinda OK. They seem to be able to score at will, not just on us, but on just about everyone.

Offense needs work and some pieces to compliment Baker. It can't be just the Mayfield, Landry, Chubb and Johnson show.. Need more help.

I didn't think Kitchens did a bad job calling plays for his first time...

Don't worry. I think there will be sweeping changes to the coaching staff after the season--and for good reason.

It solved the penalties. It solved the problem of not using Duke.

It solved the problem of no accountability. And not having someone who will literally throw everyone under the bus.

- Is this season over yet?

- Jamie Collins is a waste of time

- KC did what they wanted, when they wanted

- Duke Johnson was involved and made plays

- The PA announcer, later in the game, finally quit bothering with the always obnoxious, " IT'S THIRRRRRRRRRRRRRD DOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWN!

- Can't wait for the day when the Browns play meaningful football in November.

David Njoku is a very big disappointment. He's very young, so it's not a wasted pick yet but he has done very little in two seasons. This seems like a guy who will be a victim of regime change and go on to be good somewhere else.

Jarvis Landry MIA again.

It's that time of year where bad teams depth gets exposed. Not even sure who vallejo is, but I hope he is a special teams ace.

1. It's obvious how this team paying more attention to detail made a huge difference today.

2. I'm sure Mayfield understands what kind of men are in that room now.

3. Gregg Williams has shown his HC prowess.

For all the rhetoric and hyperbole nothing really changed. New coaches next year. And the beat goes on......

I thought about doing a similar list. It would have been the same list except I would have to include Higgins. I think he is a solid number 2 receiver. ( we dont have a number one ) He doesn't have the stats being hurt but he is solid.

We have 4 solid pieces that every team needs. QB check, Shutdown Corner check, Running back check, Edge rusher check.

I meant to put Higgins on that list just made a mistake I think he is really solid too ...

The Higgins chemistry just shows you how stupid it was not let Baker get any first team reps. I don’t think Hue said or did the right thing the entire time he was here. I wanted to keep hue but some of the things he said to media and the things he did were utter stupidity.

The thing about William's defense is; it looks appealing when you get sacks and turnovers.

It makes you forget all the big plays they give up.

If you go back and look at all the games this year; the defense failed at critical times.

Williams has been here two years now. They have added players they wanted. They got rid of players they diddn't want.

Frankly I am disappointed. I knew the offense would struggle. I expected the defense to be the strength of the team and keep us in games.

That has not been the case.

We really missed Randall. He's probably our best tackler.

I'm thinking I might need to watch the Bama safety more. Sliding Randall to SS, and Peppers to nickel is something I want to mull over for a bit. The safety could be BPA, depending on how the Draft shakes out.

While Collins knows the D well, there seems to be some disconnect between knowing what to do and doing it. I might try putting him closer to the line and asking him to attack more instead of read and react.

Watching our TEs "block", I wonder about keeping Robinson at T and using Harrison as our blocking TE.

Our D is pretty decimated. Not sure there's anything we can do at this point but get some guys experience. Started to make me think of the days we had to trot Bademosi out at corner. He'd probably be an improvement now. Definitely on special teams.

Thought Kitchens did pretty well. The offense seemed to operate more smoothly.
