The important thing today is not the first half but the second half of the day.
It will show if more down is to come or if Zoom Zoom returns.
I say Zoom Zoom into the end of the year. The Down is 466 down with an hour and 45 minutes before close. I don't have any idea where your optimism is coming from... he sounded just like this in 2007. i remember it clearly.

til you disappeared when it crashed. Like I said, Ginko for your memory. See if you remember this... There was an old timey Veteran back then who used to constantly beat on you, saying you never served in the Military. He had lost most of his face in battle and was moving to Texas. Can't remember his tag. Memba? Well he and I were buying Gold with both hands back then and would talk about it. I was in Cash, Gold, Silver and Oil back then. Had some stock too. Ginko.

who hasn’t said some crap like that about me on the conservative side?
Doesn’t change the fact that y’all were still wrong.

Anyways,
I’m worried. One cause it’s my damn money, but two, because this recurring theme isn’t fun.
The market opens up with a massive drop, slightly recovers by the bell, then the next day, drops again.
So much market uncertainty, and mr “I’m a tariff man” needs to hurry up and get out of a trade war.

The crash of 2019 is going to make the crash in 08 look like a minor bump. Trump is headed toward bankrupting another business... only this time it's the US economy.

Its called volatility.
There are many things on investors minds these days.
Brexit The Fed raising rates China trade war Democrats coming to Washington Arrest of a top Chinese CEO in Canada And a whole host of other things.
But if the market is going to be up for this year, it has to happen in the next 3 weeks.
Nearly everything I bought this morning is up heading into the close. The DOW was down nearly 800 points earlier today and looks like it may finish positive by the close.
We have a strong economy, unemployment under control, and all the markers are there, pointing to Zoom Zoom for the rest of the year.
I could be wrong but but but, Nah! Who am I kidding, I can't be wrong! Zoom Zoom!

Ya know, in a different thread about the trade war, I mentioned that China needs us, and our food, as much if not more than we need their goods.
I was told China was in it for the long haul, while the U.S. was only looking short term, do to politics.
This thread is proof of that. "Oh my God, the stocks are going down 2 days in a row! The end is coming." "It's MY money"
Anyone ever notice that taking a 2 day, or 2 month average of the stock market is foolish? (unless you're a day trader.....and if you are, good luck with that).
My understanding, and the facts, show that the markets rise and fall.

Who said the end is coming?
I’m struggling to find that anywhere.
And as far as the food aspect, go tell the farmers that. China decided to buy soybeans from another country, and doesn’t look to buy the same amount they once did from Americans.
And there’s other countries clearly willing to trade with China on their food situation.
The US right now is looking for the short term. People are worried because individual 1 is using his power to fight his personal grudges.
Not exactly sound policy there.

I hope no recession comes. Ever.
I want the individual 1 effect in the stock market to go on as long as possible, as far as making money is concerned.
But I’m not gonna sit here like 40 and make excuses for dudes trade war and policies that are having a negative effect on the market.

Tell me how the markets will react if Trump is impeached or if Mueller's report says he's guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors? I think the recent volatility is tied directly to everything Trump says and does. Markets took off when he was elected as if he was some sort of economic savoir. All the growth since has been related to this same fallacy.

And here is a little something that individual 1 said when one of his advisers was talking about the upcoming deficit spike
The friction came to a head in early 2017 when senior officials offered Trump charts and graphics laying out the numbers and showing a “hockey stick” spike in the national debt in the not-too-distant future. In response, Trump noted that the data suggested the debt would reach a critical mass only after his possible second term in office.
“Yeah, but I won’t be here,” the president bluntly said, according to a source who was in the room when Trump made this comment during discussions on the debt.

apparently you don't. things like "instant gratification" is something people say when they dont have anything constructive to add to the convo.
like this exchange for example. nothing constructive.

And there’s other countries clearly willing to trade with China on their food situation. And therein lies the biggest problem. NATO isn't just for military reasons. Our close alliance with our neighboring countries and our European allies seem to be something this administration and their minions refuse to recognize. Individual 1 has went around insulting our neighbors and our allies in Europe. To actually wage an economic war with China it would take cooperation with those nations to truly impact China. We don't have that and won't be getting that when Individual 1 continues to attack our allies. An "I'm a bad ass and lone wolf. I'm a tough guy!" propaganda is not and will never be a winning strategy against an economic powerhouse like China. It will take concerted coalition to accomplish this. Something Individual 1 has seemed unable to get a grasp of. If there was ever a candidate to get poor marks on his report card for "playing well with others", it's Individual 1.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

yea, typically someone who calls themselves a great negotiator would use alliances, treaties, and agreements as ways to further advance their own countries interest in a way that benefits everybody, specifically america.
but apparently trashing allies and getting into twitter beefs is a more acceptable form of leadership to individual 1 supporters.
but hey, when individual 1 declares "I alone can fix it", then i expect results.
not really seeing results.

Did people really think the market was going to go up forever?
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

If you keep saying "the market is going to go down" long enough, you will be right.
If you keep saying "the market is going to go up" long enough, you will be right.
Suggesting anyone can time the moves ahead of the market is pretty much hogwash. The most successful investors have always been that - investors, not traders. jmo and experience.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
