In eight games under Kitchens, Mayfield threw 19 touchdowns passes against only eight interceptions, and completed 68.4 percent of his passes.
He’s been sacked only five times in that span after going down 20 times in the first eight games.
We have to keep Freddie as our OC.
Meh.

https://twitter.com/MaryKayCabot/status/1079750073364480001she's such a hack she posted the wrong photo. She posted a photo of a different coach on NE who is white. smh. But.. we are interviewing Flores. If there is an interview, this would satisfy the Rooney Rule.

That would be Mike Pettine’s defense. Perhaps he'll be bringing him back with him. Haslam is probably still paying him, so might as well. (The above is a joke.) Don't laugh, he really may be still paying him something.

i'm sitting here looking at all the openings, I can't really think of one thats a better job. Given the turnaround, current talent, and capital for improvements. If i was to say anything that might be a negative here opposed elsewhere, its Jimmy Haslam. The power structure needs fixed Say what you want, but Haslam picked Dorsey (he finally got it right) and look at the job Dorsey has done in one off season. So I think it's time to quit picking on Haslam... I think he finally, have a few try's, got it right. I'm Shocked and maybe not so much about Lewis. He was always a good coach, no doubt about it, but he could never get the Good teams he had over the top. The other team that might have some talent and a bright future is the Jets.. That could be a good job if you like NYC. he lucked into dorsey plain and simple. Yes kudos for him not being an idiot and firing sashi and signing a former executive of the year, but Haslam is also the guy who hired the prior staffs, he's the guy who forced JFF on a staff.. so sorry, as long as Haslam is still involved in football operations, I stand by my opinion that good candidates will give that pause as thats not a power structure that works in the NFL, having the coach not reporting to GM is asinine. The coach and GM should be of one mind. Thats where the internal discord came from. Dorsey wanted to fire Hue, Hue went to Haslam to get Haley fired and they both ended up gone. But yeah, if he stays out of the search and lets Dorsey do his job, then Haslam deserves credit for finally letting go and just collect money. Don't know if he can

Wrong as usual .... Browns Pack Jets The rest ... ... I think you're both wrong. If I'm a coach I'll to the place where I could live for 16 years without having to win a playoff game. Bengals don't care about winning.

I think GW and Kitchens have earned the right to coach at a minimum at least 1 year ( I know that will never happen). Yeah they both made some questionable coaching decisions every now and then but the players responded and played hard for them, gave them that confidence and swagger. I would just hate for Mayfield to start off his career learning ANOTHER system that he might not respond well to.
And please just say NO to McCarthy, his records was a product of a HOF QB, his teams didn't do squat when he was hurt.

I would be ok with Williams and Kitchens under a 1-2 year contract with the option of ending it after 1 year if things went south and with the promise of a long term deal if things continue upward (Playoffs) ...

Why? It protects the owner and the team, and gives Williams the opportunity he is looking for to prove himself otherwise I would look elsewhere ... JMHO

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Do you think anyone else will hire him, I feel this would be an opportunity for him and not a lame duck situation, he has a chance to stay for a long time if he turns out to be a worthy coach, I myself am not sold on Williams I think he did a very good Job but mostly because of Baker and Kitchens ... I'd assume all assistants will be gone if GW isn't retained
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

On the show Aftermath Casserly made some interesting comments.
He said in the interview process everything can be made up except who you put on paper about the staff you can bring.
I heard Brian Billick say the same thing about the interview process.
Casserly mentioned Todd Monken OC for Tampa. They had the top passing offense in football. And he had won in college as a HC. He accomplished a lot with Fitzgerald and Winston. If he was with another team he would get more press.

j/c...If we are going to get rid of all. GW and all the asst. Although Wilie should stay that is a common occurence the OL coach staying.
But if that is the case then I would wish either Riley from OU here or Josh McDaniels. I don't want MM a guy who was fired why do we want a guy who was fired! Is that UP and Trending or a guy on the way down! Please not him. I don't want the Good old boy club...I want guys who will be innovative and take care of our Franchise QB.
Actually I would give GW n Crew a one year Show me what you can do in a season contract. This way if continuity with them does not prove to be the correct way to go...then I think it would be a year that there are not that many searching for a new HC and I don't think we will miss out on the New up and comer of the NFL this year. Lets get this right...give these guys at least one year to show their stuff...
If not give me Riley or McDaniels
jmho...man how far has DeFillippo dropped he was the gifted guy like 6 months ago...

The night before I think I remember starting to see a report or two that Baker was the guy - but it didn't snowball very quickly. . . . that said its a long time ago and my memory may not be that reliable!

Dan Campbell will be interviewed is what I just heard.
I wonder if we'll go after a Defensive coach and keep everyone in tact on O?
Not what any of us thought, just spit balling

Wasn't Mcdaniels fired from Denver? Obviously,in your eyes,he has made amends for his ineptitude in mile high.

The reason I could see McCarthy is because not only was he fired, but also Highsmith and Wolf departed Green Bay. That's three of Green Bays major cogs gone. Something drove them all out of town. And things were going much better in Green Bay when they were all there together. How their working relationships along with that of Dorsey's was with McCarthy may play a big role in all of this.
I'm certainly not pimping McCarthy by any means. Just trying to give an explanation as to some of the ingredients that may go into such a decision.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Wasn't Mcdaniels fired from Denver? Obviously,in your eyes,he has made amends for his ineptitude in mile high. Please don't ASSume what is in MY EYES...why do that...you didn't "I told HIM MOMENT"
How long ago was that, BB was fired from Cleveland, how did that turn out. McDaniels as a young HC was fired. He went back to his mentor and has been with THE BEST maybe ever (except Paul Brown) ready to do it right. No comparison with a guy who has been with a team for a while now and then gets fired mid season where the game possibly has passed him by. Not the case with McDaniels he just was not ready for the job and it showed. Now back with his mentor for several years he is ready.
So now Aha moment you got tabber. Sorry so please don't tell me what is in "MY EYES" as opinion...Ask me about it to elaborate on it but don't judge me the way you did...just pisses me off.
You don't have to agree but don't tell me what I think. Tell me what you think..I'll do the telling for my self no need for help from you... Hope you get it. Not a gauntlet just a pet peeve.

i'm not one of the fighting posters.i found it humorous that you don't want a retread, and then suggest one. Your explanation covered the inconsistency. Finding an "aha" moment in someone else's post is a bit beyond my capabilities. I'm more in favor of McCarthy than you,and you like Mcdaniels more than I. In the grand scheme of things that means poop.

I just read the post not the Author....I know you are one of the good guys. I'm not that mean lol I just get upset when my view is being expressed by somebody else.
Old worn out retread is way different from somebody who was in over their head the first time around and has perfected their coaching style under a pretty darn good teacher. I didn't like the Colts thing with him...but if he comes on board gung ho 100% he is probably the best candidate.

He just would need ONE GUY to buy in. Baker.
He would need a strong DC in full charge of that side of the ball.
