As with all things there are good and bad. To say, "they were taught this by their religion or parents" is disingenuous at the very least. Let me give you a few examples.
For those of you who smoke weed. Did your parents teach you that? Maybe a few, but I doubt many.
How about many of the things you used to sneak around and do as a teen? In case you've forgotten, many of the things you did growing up weren't because of your parents or church promoted them.
I certainly don't agree with churches who exclude and discriminate against the gay community. I don't agree with many teachings that some religions promote. Such as incorporating paganism into Christianity. They can be quick to judge a persons sexual preference while hanging pagan symbols in their homes and lying to their children about Santa, the Easter bunny and all sorts of false beings.
The hypocrisy is hilarious. Being gay is a sin. Following pagan customs and lying to your children is fine. I'm never ceased to be amazed by the double standards. Then they expect to be taken seriously.
To get back on track here........
I've NEVER heard of a religion teaching that it's fine or acceptable to taunt Native Americans and I seriously doubt their parents taught them that at home.
Teenagers are stupid.

Religion taught that slavery was perfectly acceptable. Religion was used as a reason why their are a superior and inferior race. Religion was used as justification as to why segregation was needed.
To not believe in discriminatory practices within the religion means that person is only a part timer. It’s the belief system combined with parenting that leads to situations like this one.
Sure, in this case, nobody taught these kids to specifically target native Americans, but the overall practice of discrimination within the religion itself leads to the symptoms we see today.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
After how many years that they were completely fine with slavery?
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
People grow and change. What you tried to do is act like "They're all the same". When you grow up in a world where something is the only way you've ever known it to be, it takes a lot to realize just how wrong it really is.
But your contention was that religious people are to blame for slavery. The fact is that it was also religious people who fought and died to free the slaves. And that's true. No sense trying to move the goal posts now.

The South was made up of ungodly Christians with deep seated beliefs in the racist church of England. The northerners were full of good Christian Protestants who understood the Democratic nature of the scripture.
To not believe in the discrimination that religion teaches is to be a part timer.

I was born and raised catholic by a mom who is very religious and I was never taught to act like this. I have watched the video and seen pictures of the event and I see only a few teens wearing MAGA hats and shirts and the fact that they are from school I would say there probably is quite a few teens among them that are democrats. I don't think this is anything more then a bunch of teenage boys trying to act like tough guys and it has nothing really to do with religion or their politics.
The problem is you seem to think all churches teach that. They don't.
In theory we do agree. Many religions do teach that and I'm totally against that as are you. But you wish to put all churches as being the same. That's simply not true. Religion has many different churches and beliefs. Some are very inclusive.
See, I watch conservatives on this very board claim all people who disagree with Trump are a bunch of radical leftists. I see people on here claim everyone who supports Trump are some kind of right wing nut jobs.
Those are just as false as your claims concerning religion.

I watched the video, the kid is acting like an ass. My problem with the narrative, is that because the kid has on a MAGA hat, it is being treated as if he represents all people who support Trump. This is typical of the media, make it something more than it is.
To me, it was a smartassed kid showing off for his friends. Acting as if this is what Trump supporters are all like is bogus. Acting as if this represents Catholics is bogus.
I was going to post my outrage to this story but for some reason I didn’t. After seeing additional video and reading the article by one of the students that was there I’m glad I didn’t. I think I’ll wait a bit and see what comes out of the new evidence.
I believe there is more to this story then is being reported. More video is beginning to surface.
One student wrote to a local news outlet begging it to tell the full story about what happened at the march:
"I am a student at Covington Catholic and was present at the occurrence. Here is what truly happened …
In the midst of our cheers, we were approached by a group of adults led by Nathan Phillips, with Phillips beating his drum. They forced their way into the center of our group. We initially thought this was a cultural display since he was beating along to our cheers and so we clapped to the beat. … However, after multiple minutes of Mr. Phililps beating his drum directly in the face of my friend (mere centimeters from his nose), we became confused and started wondering what was happening. It was not until later that we discovered they would incriminate us as a publicity stunt. … To reiterate, we did not partake in any physical or verbal abuse … After that initial occurrence, we were then verbally assaulted by four or five African-American men who called us “faggots” and berated one of our African-American students for being friends with us. The truth needs to come out. I pray that you read this …"
The mother of a boy filmed harassing a Native American man along with his friends at a rally in Washington DC has blamed “black Muslims” for the confrontation, without providing any evidence for the claim.
The teenager was among a group of students wearing Make America Great Again (Maga) hats who were criticised for taunting the musician Nathan Phillips, surrounding him and jeering and chanting “build the wall, build the wall”.
But his mother claimed “black Muslims” had been harassing the group of Donald Trump supporters from the private, all-male Covington Catholic High School in Kentucky.
In an email to the news website heavy.com the mother of a Covington Catholic student, believed to be the boy prominently featured in footage of the incident, wrote: “Did you hear the names of the people were calling these boys? It was shameful. Did you witness the black Muslims yelling profanities and video taping to get something to further your narrative of hatred??
“Did you know that this ‘man’ came up to this one boy and drummed in his face?”
The encounter took place at an anti-abortion March for Life rally in the capital on Friday.
Footage of the confrontation involving Mr Phillips, a veteran of the Vietnam war and an elder of Nebraska’s Omaha tribe, was shared online by organisers of an indigenous peoples’ march that also took place on Friday.
Separate video shared online showed a group of black men standing near the scene of the confrontation, arguing with the Maga hat-wearing Trump supporters. It is unclear to which religious group the men belonged, but they could be heard quoting passages from the Old Testament.
Amid claims online that Mr Phillips had himself participated in harassing the boys, another video shows the moment he arrived at the scene of the confrontation. The 64-year-old can be seen interposing himself between the two groups, ending a few yards away from both, before the students approach him and begin chanting.
The intimidation of Mr Phillips, meanwhile, has prompted a torrent of outrage. Actress and activist Alyssa Milano tweeted that the footage “brought me to tears”, while actor Chris Evans said the students’ actions were “appalling” and “shameful”.
Democratic congresswoman Deb Haaland, a member of New Mexico’s Laguna Pueblo tribe, tweeted that the students had shown “blatant hate, disrespect, and intolerance”.
Ruth Buffalo, a North Dakota state lawmaker and member of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation tribe, said she was saddened to see students showing disrespect to an elder who is also a military veteran.
“The behaviour shown in that video is just a snapshot of what indigenous people have faced and are continuing to face,” said Ms Buffalo.
Both the Catholic high school and the Diocese of Covington have apologised and condemned the actions of the students.
“We extend our deepest apologies to Mr Phillips. This behaviour is opposed to the church’s teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person.
“The matter is being investigated and we will take appropriate action, up to and including expulsion,” the statement said.
Covington Catholic High School has since closed its Facebook page.
“When I was there singing, I heard them saying, ‘Build that wall, build that wall,’” Mr Phillips said, as he wiped away tears in a video later posted on Instagram. “This is indigenous lands. We’re not supposed to have walls here. We never did.”

When all else fails, blame black people.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Those boys wearing Make America Great Again hats are just flat out wrong. That behavior is unacceptable. Just as the idiots that follow politicians into restaurants and taunt them.
There is a time and place to protest but those protests should never infringe on others. See how that works.

They weren’t black Muslims. I believe they called themselves black Israelilites. Have you bothered to watch the whole video from the group of black protesters? It is about an hour and forty minutes long.
I didn’t call them black Muslims. The mom of the kid trying to be a badass did. I’ve watched multiple videos. I don’t see anywhere in the videos where these trash ass kids behavior is justified.
The mom is making my argument for me too. Trying to blame others for her crap kids behavior. Guess I was right about where they learned it from.

Indigenous individual walks towards a group shouting hate, yet he wants to soothe them with a song of love.
Oh how terrible it is! Those poor children who were subjected to his personal prayer for them to love one another. Oh those poor white kids getting oppressed on a daily basis!
This is from the A.P., and has quotes from the man.
Quote:
Nathan Phillips said in an interview with The Associated Press that he was trying to keep peace between some Kentucky high school students and a black religious group that was also on the National Mall on Friday. The students were participating in the March for Life, which drew thousands of anti-abortion protesters, and Phillips was attending the Indigenous Peoples March happening the same day.
"Something caused me to put myself between (them) — it was black and white," said Phillips, who lives in Ypsilanti, Michigan. "What I saw was my country being torn apart. I couldn't stand by and let that happen."
Videos show a youth standing very close to Phillips and staring at him as he sang and played the drum. Other students — some in "Make America Great Again" hats and sweatshirts — were chanting, laughing and jeering.
Other videos also showed members of the religious group, who appear to be affiliated with the Black Hebrew Israelite movement, yelling disparaging and profane insults at the students, who taunt them in return. Video also shows the Native Americans being insulted by the small religious group as well.
Arch, go to Twitter and search @AClementsWKRC. There are links to videos in a statement made by a fellow student. You can also search YouTube for videos of the incident. There is one that is over an hour and a half. I am on my phone so I can’t send it to you. I can’t post it because of language.
The school of the kid condemned on their facebook pagethe kids action and said they will take action up to and including expulsion. The school then had to take down their page. Wonder why

I just spent 1 hour, 46 minutes, and 18 seconds watching a video of the whole thing. It was posted to youtube by..........get this, the Hebrew Israelite group. (black hebrew israelite group) I won't post the link here due to the cussing and racist remarks made by.....yup, you guessed it - the black hebrew israelite group.
Having watched that video, I KNOW for a fact, on this situation, you have no CLUE what you are talking about. NONE!!!
There wasn't 1 damn white kid causing a problem. And Nathan Philips did come in, of his own accord, in an attempt to quell things. Things started by the black hebrew group. The group that was attacking the indigenous peoples march. The group that was throwing out the N word, and coon, and threatening violence on the whites, the natives, and even other black people.
What the mainstream media put on the air is literally a farce that could make me puke. What they aired is so, SO, SOOOOOOO far from the truth it's ridiculous.
BUt, it made whites look bad, and a few kids had on MAGA hats, so, the msm served its purpose.
Wanna link while it's still up???????????????????????
I guarantee not a single person with even 1 bit of sanity would watch the vid and think the kids did 1 damn thing wrong.
Media is a freaking joke anymore...but some people just follow what they are told.
You have no CLUE what was in the video. You have no CLUE that the high schoolers were actually acting respectful.
Arch, you're moving the goal posts. This is known as a logical fallacy. This is something you tried to convince me of doing in multiple other threads.
If the kids had issue with the other group, they should've dealt with that group. Coming up to jeer, mock, and be overtly disrespectful to someone making a prayer is a bad look. Then again, this country colonized Native Americans so I guess I shouldn't expect much else? ---------------- Some notes about this school...
Please explain why the kid is in the right to get up in-front of a peaceful individual asking for peace and healing?
Why didn't the boy get up in the face of the one saying hateful things?
Again, you're showing that you don't have a clue, other than what the msm fed you.
Nathan Phillups went up to THEM. I know, on the op, and on msm it made the kid look bad. That was the goal, as well as mentioning 'most of the kids wearing MAGA hats', when in fact, perhaps 5 to 7 of them were.
Will you watch the video???????????????
I'd love to post it here, but again, swearing, and racist words used over and over. Not by the kids, not by anyone but the black hebrew israelite group. Even threats of violence by them.

So to use Swish's own terminolgy...
The trash ass religous black people were causing the problem.
