Meh, who knows. Maybe they'll let the CBA die after 2020 and the "big" contracts will no longer matter.
Personally, I like the salary cap, but you never can tell with these things.
People ask me what I do in spring when there's no football. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for fall

Getting Jarrett and or Lawrence would be mind blowing.
Both are premier players close to the top at their position.
Those guys would be huge.

Unfortunately, you are right. I had a little hope for Lawrence, but Dallas just said they are going to keep him.
Btw-------Gregory got suspended again and Irving is probably going to be suspended, too.

ANTONIO BROWN WR, PITTSBURGH STEELERS
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the Steelers "prefer" to trade Antonio Brown to a team in the NFC.
Speaking Wednesday at the Combine, Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said "interest has grown" on Brown in trade talks. "Ideally you’ll like to trade him to someone you’d never play," Colbert said. "But if a team comes through with the best compensation you have to weigh that." It's hard to see the Steelers trading Brown within the AFC North or to the conference-rival Patriots. The Panthers, 49ers, and Packers have been talked about as potential destinations in recent weeks.

You mean after he's released from jail? Former NFL star Adam 'Pacman' Jones arrested after being suspected of cheating at Indiana casino He will be held without bail until he appears before an Ohio County judge Thursday, officials said. One-time pro football standout Adam "Pacman" Jones was investigated for cheating at an Indiana casino before becoming "combative and disorderly" during his arrest Wednesday, authorities said. Jones, 35, was booked into the Dearborn County jail shortly after his 3:17 a.m. arrest at the Rising Star Casino in far southeast Indiana, according to the Indiana Gaming Commission. Gaming agents were "called to investigate a patron for possibly cheating at a table game," according to a statement from the IGC. The commission confirmed to NBC News that the patron was Jones. "IGC responded to the table games room, and upon arrival, the patron immediately became verbally combative and disorderly with IGC enforcement agents" and casino employees, the statement continued. Jones was booked on a single count of suspicion of disorderly conduct, punishable by a maximum penalty of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. He had originally been arrested for — in addition to disorderly conduct — public intoxication, intimidation and resisting arrest, the commission said. The agency didn't immediately say what game Jones was playing. The casino offers a variety of games, including blackjack and roulette. The Dearborn County Sheriff's Department is holding him for prosecutors in Ohio County, Indiana, where the casino is located. Jones will be held without bail until he appears before an Ohio County judge Thursday, officials said. Jones has played 12 seasons in the NFL, most notably for the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played 100 games over eight years. The defensive back last played for Denver, getting into seven games this past season before the Broncos released him in November. He's not been signed. Jones has had multiple dealings with law enforcement over the years, most recently in early 2017 when he allegedly head-butted a police officer, officials said. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor later that year and received a sentence of time served. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/for...gbwLiF25i96ncKo[quote=eotab][quote=MemphisBrownie]He is still available:
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I had forgotten about the suspensions, your post reminded me. I'm just saying with the looming suspensions, there is no way Dallas will let Lawrence get away. Still had him on the wish list but didn't put 2+2 together til after I read your post.

Many are speculating that the Seahawks will Franchise him, but if not I would love to see us bring him back home (he is a local player) Everyone probably knows this, but he too had an issue with beating a woman in a hotel room. Super talented guy but I'm not sure how many guys with histories of hitting women I want on the team.

Houston's annual salaries for the next 2 seasons are as follows:
2019: $15.25 million 2020: $17 million
That's big salary to add to a team's payroll, and I don't know that many teams want to do so. Of course, with cap numbers always on the increase, and 2/3 of the league with "enough" room to take on that size contract, who knows?
If I'm the Browns, I definitely make a play.

If I'm the Browns, I definitely make a play. That's a lot of money for a guy who hasn't been very healthy or productive over the last several years. I'd still trade for him if the price was right. I'd guess he'd go for a fifth round pick because of his contract and age. I'm also shocked that no one is worried that he has never played in a 4-3 defense. Maybe we are making progress.

"Three to four years down the road" = being able to afford Garrett and Mayfield. The time to go all in is when you have your franchise QB, DE, and CB all on rookie deals. Go win the darn thing right now, because tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Thank God Dorsey understands how this all works. I agree .. the window is open NOW .... He can’t be stupid but NOW is the time to sign the big money DL/pass rushing DE if one becomes available ... u can structure there contracts to take the BIG HITS in 19 and 20 so u have the cash when u need it on 21, 22 and 23 when its time to reload on Bake, MG, Ward, Chubb and others ... We have PLENTY OF CAP SPACE TO DO BOTH right now ... like u said .. its a good thing KJ understands all this .... Get er done KJ ... THE TIME IS NOW!!!!! PS. All this talk about having a QB and others on rookie QB’s and other key positions .. makes a ton of sense and i agree in theory .. and it is CLEARLY A HUGE AVANTAGE ... no denying that ... The last 5 SB’s have been won by QB’s not on rookie contracts ... 3 of them the pats ... 1 the donks led by Manning and the Iggles last year with Foles as their QB .. *shrugs*

This is open to interpretation. I agree ... I said in our PM’s with U and a few others ... I expect one big money signing and a few on mid level guys and some to improve the bottom of the roster ... We have plenty to do both and save for the re-load in 2 and 3 years when our guys can start walking ...
