We have a proven, quality player who isn't costing us a bundle, and yet some people would trade him for a fifth.
Could we not at least wait until we begin to approach cap hell before kicking him out of the band?
I was going to say this but I didnt want to be the first to actually have some common sense in this thread
We are not trying to amass draft capital. So with all the picks we already have , why would we trade a proven , valuable player for a draft pick that probably wont even make the team ?

I'll give you the same advice my Senseis used to give me during sparring bouts:

p.s. It really is fun to see you all giddy like this. Browns fans have been skulldrug for 25 years. When I read your posts, it's like watching a kid 2 days before Christmas.
Good question. That is my concern. We have holes to fill on the defense, and if we are giving up serious draft capital, then those holes need to remain holes, or filled in free agency.
FWIW, I have heard from a few that Duke Johnson removed everything referencing Cleveland from his Instagram. I don't do Instagram, so no idea personally.

What can trade up options become? If we got a 5th rounder, that would become our forth pick in that round. We as it stands probably aren't going to draft 3 players in the 5th round. We are going to use a few of them to move up in other rounds.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
I know a lot of people don't like OBJ, but he is as talented as any player in the league. He is a real difference maker. Acquiring him would be huge.
That's interesting about Duke. People want to ignore that he is possible trade bait, but he would not be happy in a role where he is the emergency back. I wouldn't trade him until I found out how long Hunt's suspension was, but I'm not John Dorsey. Dude is not afraid to make big moves.
If it is OBJ........what do you think we would have to give up for him?
If its for picks only, I'd say it be a 1st and a late round pick.
Dorsey probably doesn't want to give up his pick though, so I'd imagine if this were to happen it'd involve players. Ogbah? Collins? and then maybe a 2nd.
Yeah, hard to say. I wonder if Collins has any trade value at all? Ogbah is interesting. And I was thinking about Kirksey. But New York is probably going to want a first.
Say you had the 17th pick in the draft. Would you use it on a guy w/OBJ's talent and production provided you could see into the future?

Twitter too.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Definitely. His attitude is the only thing that concerns me. However, I think that with him being paired with Baker, he'd move (talk) a lot differently. There would be less shenanigans.
The other thought though is do we even need him? Our offense thrived without a 'great' talent at WR. Then in NY, OBJ had Barkley, and Eli (although hes declined somewhat), and couldn't win games.
I'm definitely a fan of an offense with OBJ, Landry, Callaway, Njoku, Chubb, and Baker. Thats a pretty nice set up.
I wouldn't be in favor if seeing Duke shipped off right now. While he's not a staring RB for the Browns, if something should happen that Chubb goes down this year, with Hunt under suspension, his value to us would certainly soar. He's what I would certainly consider a reasonable insurance policy.
Agreed.
This talk of trading Duke makes no sense to me.
We should at least understand the status of Kareem Hunt before we let go of Duke. Because, if Hunt's suspended ten games, and Nick Chubb goes down early in the season, what do we do then?
I'm sure Duke is ready to be traded. I get that. But, it has to make sense first. Right now, it doesn't make sense
For me everything about trading Duke rests with what happens with Hunt. Hunt is the key.

OBJ is a top WR and would do wonders for this team. Pretty much any team. I do not object to adding him to the roster, I just don't want to give up a couple first round picks to do so. We still have holes to fill.
There is a big difference between EGO and CONFIDENCE.
Baker is confidant. He wants knows he can win.
AB is Egotistical. He only cares about his.
I see OBJ really close to the line, but I see him wanting to win. Lets remember, we didn't hear too much from him until the team started losing (Giants). I believe his situation is overblown as far as his ego, and I believe he wants to win.
You can work with guys like that. You cannot work with guys like AB.
I'd love OBJ, but not for a first this year.. we really need to shore up some spots on D. now if we end up with Collins, CJ, and jarrett..lol problem solved
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. -John Wayne
so maybe its AB and not OBJ, thus juice comments about getting your head right

I have a feeling that Dorsey already knows who he wants with that first pick and given his history of picks, man I don't want to miss out on that person.

For Pittsburgh to trade AB to us they would want everything including the kitchen sink!!!
