This episode was really good. I thought it was ok... if this was a 15 episode season I could have loved it... but we only have like 4 episodes left... I needed more... thankfully next week it's on...

I really enjoyed this episode.
The scenes weren't so short and choppy like they've been the past few years as you really saw how various characters choose to spend their time with what could quite possibly be their last night alive. (similar to the Battle of Blackwater Bay episode in season two). I like how the knighting scene unfolded and Jamie was the one to do it. We've seen two private discussions between Sansa and Yohn Royce so far-- one to be broken up by Tyrion in episode one and the other by Dany last night. I think there is a side plot that might be revealed later. I also think there were a few scenes where characters were talking about what they will be doing after the battle, which probably won't come to pass considering how many most likely won't make it.
I still have a tough time believing how Jon is so quick to buy into the fact that he is Aegon Targaryan and now within a day he is trying to sell that same fact to Dany...it just seems too rushed and underdeveloped. I don't think they unfolded the most important plot point very well. I wish somehow the show would have introduced the character of Howland Reed beyond the Tower of Joy flashback. I think that would provide so much more validity to who Jon really is. Who knows, maybe he still will show up?
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

It seems they're building tension by giving us incomplete conversations. Like last night, SPOILERS, when the women were discussing what will happen to the north after the war, someone interrupts them and it's never finished. Same thing happens to Jon and Dany when the big reveal. I want to say they did that 2-3 times in the first episode too. I get they're laying the groundwork for something nobody has an answer to now and we'll get there eventually, but seems like a tease.

We've seen two private discussions between Sansa and Yohn Royce so far-- one to be broken up by Tyrion in episode one and the other by Dany last night. I think there is a side plot that might be revealed later. That is a really great point. I hadn't thought of it, but it sure seems like Sansa and Royce are up to something. I wanted action in last night's episode. Despite wanting to hate it, I really liked the episode as a whole. This show does a great job of tearing out your heart, and after last night's episode, we're even more invested in these characters. There's really no one in Winterfell who I'm rooting against. A few other points. No Cersei at all. However, what is she really going to add right now? She's just biding her time. The crypts are super safe. Safest place ever. The safest. Safe, safe, safe. Safey safey safe safe. Nope, nothing going to happen down there! I think we'll see Tyrion do something to save people down there when it all hits the fan. Because let's face it, if someone ever told me I'm going to the safest place during a battle, I'd assume I'm going right into a hornet's nest. Dany is very focused on the Iron Throne, as she always has been. We saw it when she could have maybe been a bit more diplomatic with Sansa. We saw it when the very first thought in her head wasn't "Oh my God, I'm in love with my nephew", but instead was "Oh my God, someone else has a claim to the Throne." Now, will she have a change of heart and support Jon or Sansa, or whomever? Or will she stay stubborn? With this show, I have no idea. All I know is that the next few episodes are going to be the kind where I feel utterly exhausted after. Like in the Battle of the Bastards when Jon was trying to claw his way out of the bodies. I think I almost passed out from holding my breath. Next week is going to be a blast.

A question to those musically inclined. Did Podrick's song sound like a famous song you have heard before? I am not giving my opinion as I don't want to bias what others say.

Obviously Bran is the leading contender to sit on the throne. My speculation is that he will enter the knight king and control him somehow. He needs the Tree around to summon enough power or something.
Danny is going to kill Jon Snow, Samuel Tarley and try to kill Bran. They are the only 3 who know who Jon Snow really is.
How in the world anyone could trust Jamie Lanister to betray Cersei is beyond me….like cmon midget, you’ve know this man your entire life and he has never once turned his back on her…..now he is?
Brianne is DEFINITELY going to die this season, especially after being validated by Jamie as a knight.
Anyone with two eyes can see that Danny has grown power drunk, that will come to a head with Jon Snow soon.

Anyone with two eyes can see that Danny has grown power drunk, that will come to a head with Jon Snow soon. All good theories. I don't see a happy ending with Jon and Dany, there will be bloodshed, probably even dragon on dragon bloodshed when they're fighting each other. I doubt Jon will choose to keep his lineage a secret after Samwell challenged him about how he'd be more merciful compared to Dany. My wife asked what Arya's look meant after showing those two in afterglow. If she were after a quickie, shouldn't she have been happy? My wife thinks she's planning something because the blacksmith has king blood in him, although it's "bastard" blood.

If Brianne be dies, then she will die heroically defending Jaime or Podrick. Probably Jaime as Podrick takes him to safety.
Snow and Dany will come to rule together.
Theon will find final redemption defending Bran as he removes the curse from the night king, as Sansa watches.
If the Hound dies, Arya will kill wight Hound by sticking her dagger through his eye. If he lives, he'll hook up with Sansa and they'll raise the burn scarred girl as their own.

Guesses for who bites the dust in Episode 3?
I'm saying:
Beric Edd (from the Nights Watch) Theon Pod
And I think one of the more major characters. I'm going to go with Grey Worm.
Ideas?

The big woman, since we just had an emotional scene with her. Brianne has been the very definition of sullen since she was introduced. In S8E2 she smiled, not a smirk, but a full blown, happy to be alive smile. She's a goner. And Grey Worm. He made the mistake of discussing the future with Missandei.

***Spoilers for anyone not caught up***
My current theory (for those that have read the books) is that Jon Snow is "The Prince that was Promised/Azor Ahai" and Daenerys is his "Lightbringer." Thinking it through, it makes sense, and if you want me to expand more, I can.
As for what this means for the story, I have no idea...but it's going to be epic. I'm trying to figure out how everything will shake out, as I feel the conclusion of the show should deal with the Night King, and not Cersei (first scene of episode1 is the White Walkers), but it looks like they will battle the NK first.
My guess, the NK will show up and kidnap Bran away during the battle next week (we know Theon ain't going to protect anyone). I hope we can get some more backstory to NK in the coming episodes, possibly through Bran. Around that time, Cersei and her army shows up, and there's another battle (Jamie will kill his sister). After Cersei is dead, the Night King shows back up, and Daenerys/Jon Snow finish him off, with 1 or possibly both dying.
That's my guess...lots of deaths the coming weeks.

I have never watched the show, but my prediction is that they all die .... except for the dogs. They have to have dogs, right?
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I enjoyed this episode.
Should they survive, Dani and Sansa are going to war. The scene of the two trying to make-up ended badly w/a shot of Dani removing her hand from Sansa's when the latter asked "What of Winterfell?"
I will probably not like the next episode. It's supposed to be a long, long battle. Watching people kill one another en masse is not my idea of high intellect.
Hopefully, it's a one and done battle.

I don't know what will happen, but Jon Snow is the only one that never sought out power or leadership, but he's handled both well when he's had them.
I think ultimately, he ends up King, and divides up the 7 Kingdoms to be ruled independently.

Waiting for the next episode is a little strange. As I mentioned, I binged all previous seasons in December.
I'm watching Barry too, anyone else? I assume everyone here has HBO and isn't pirating GOT.
