PALM BEACH, Florida (The Borowitz Report)—Donald Trump was reportedly “hopping mad” on Saturday after a surprise ice raid left his Mar-a-Lago retreat with no employees. The ice agents conducting the pre-dawn raid swept through the opulent Palm Beach club and left guests with no one to prepare their food, wash their dishes, or clean their rooms. When informed of the news, a furious Trump reportedly barked at his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and his sons Eric and Donald, Jr., ordering them to hurry to Palm Beach and wait on tables.

A spokesman for Mar-a-Lago called the situation “dire,” warning that the resort had lost almost as many staff members as the White House.

What is not satire Clem is that a person claiming to be with Antifa, armed with a gun and incendiary devices attacked a federal ICE detention center in Washington and, thankfully, was killed by police before anybody else was hurt..

Antifa and others are hailing this guy as a martyr and somewhat of a hero....

There has been proportionately little news about an actual attack and a death, compared to other things I would consider less relevant.. say a nasty tweet..

There has also been precious little condemnation from the democrats regarding a violent attack on a government facility... AOC refused to comment on and refused to condemn this type of domestic terrorism a couple of times.. opting to say that he office would issue a statement... it's been 2 days and still nothing. How long does it take to draft a statement condemning the attempted violent attack of a government facility?

People stormed another ICE facility and took down the American flag and raised the Mexican flag.. another opportunity for the democrats to speak up and ....... ........ very little. If there are things about America you don't like, fine... but if somebody wants to live under damn the Mexican flag (y'know, the country many of these people are trying to get away from), you can do that now, right this minute... see ya.

I saw a report on that early on and a friend of his said they thought he wanted to commit suicide by cop... didn't here the of antifa bit or anyone calling him a hero. Sounded more like a nutjob to me.

And if that other incident you mentioned is that video going around facebook with the foul mouth girl, some bald dude in a dress, and the guy that says 'F__ the Flag!'... I'm pretty sure that is fake or a GOPer James O'Keefe style hit job.

Edit: Just looked up the second incident. I don't approve of that either. They should protest if they want, but there was no need to run that flag up.

Yes, you didn't hear about it.. that's kind of the point. AOC was also asked if she thought her ramping up the rhetoric to call detention centers "concentration camps" might be to blame for the recent surge in violence against them... crickets.

"Throughout history we idolize figures like John Brown for their courage to take the ultimate stand against oppression, and today we stand strong in our support for yet another martyr in the struggle against fascism. May his death serve as a call to protest and direct action."

Yeah, it's not like any of this is one sided. You would think that once people have exhausted all legal options and received their deportation orders, that the only people who would support ICE not doing their job by removing them from the country would be those who support illegal immigration.

I'm certainly not one of those people. Thus far I haven't seen a single thing that causes me to think they targeted anyone else.

Yep. I think protesting is fine. But when you start arming yourself for anything other than protecting yourself, then you are crossing the line. But these protest have become dangerous for both sides, so I won't be surprised by any violence that breaks out. Trump's hateful rhetoric whips the crazies up on both sides. There are no dems, including AOC, that I know of spewing the kind of hate that incites violence. And before the flaming starts, I know 'the squad' say a lot of things the right doesn't like but they are not in the same division causing universe of Trump's rhetoric.

She called ICE Detention Centers concentration camps, invoking images of Nazi Germany, gas chambers, mass graves.. and I saw more than one person on here who I have considered rational saying "Yea, I could see it coming to that".... so a big whopping BS on that.. then people begin attacking the ICE Detention Centers.. let's stop pretending those two things might not be connected.

I'm all for that as long as people are willing to say that Trump's rhetoric may be connected to the rise in hate crimes, increasing number of White Supremacy groups and Charlottesville.

I'm more than willing to admit that the tone Trump has set has emboldened the very worst of the extremists on the right to get more vocal and more aggressive... (and in a few cases, more violent)

I would stop short of saying he is responsible for it.. because ultimately I believe as individuals we are responsible for our own actions, but he has been a yuge contributing factor in enabling it and making people feel more comfortable doing it.

It’s still mind boggling.

It is easier to be against something when you aren’t personally involved. People who live near the border likely have personal contact with illegals. Most are good people, having an effect on how people around them feel for them as people. Border residents probably have more compassion for illegals as well.

Most of us know they are hard working, religious, family values folks. They would be a great addition to the American experience.

The only negative is they are here illegally.

I don't know that to be true... I've always thought Texas and Arizona were about as anti-illegal immigration as anybody.. am I wrong?

No one spoke of illegal immigration when I lived in Texas. I only lived there for 8 years or so, so maybe things changed since I left in 2014.

I can't really answer that for sure. But what I can say is that border states are heavily Republican and the results of elections along the border do not side with Republicans. Now I guess that can be blamed on the demographics but I think there's no denying that elections, especially by popular vote demonstrates the polulations ideas and beliefs within that region.

DC the detention camps are concentration camps worse than we treated the Japanese in WW2. Not as bad as the German death camps. And that is still not hate speech even if we agreed.
