If we trade forTrent he moves in at LT. The question is, does Robinson move to RG or does Robinson move to RT and Hubbard to RG? I think I would favor the later.

Hubbard played mostly back up RG for the Steelers and did solid when I think decastro was hurt...I know this because a friend of mine laughed when we handed Hubbard a pretty pricey deal to play RT for us...though he was a utility lineman.

Thanks Tru

Until there is verified information not worth commenting on.

This saga has been going on for a long time.

So I will refrain until a deal is done and it is clear what was traded to get him.

One thing I do know is he is a hellava player.

Trent Williams will last about 3years in the NFL. Signing him would put us way beyond salary cap hell..

We need to draft and develop 2 starting tackles.

The cap is not the problem. The compensation we would have to give up to get him is.

...Dorsey's last attempt at drafting a tackle was Corbett.

I don't have much faith in our ability to develop players in general. It looks like more have regressed than have gotten better so far from the end of last year to where we are now.

That's not to say I want us to sell the farm for Trent. I'm just not feeling overly optimistic about anything Browns related at the moment.

I agree. I mant to draft a LT, TE, RT. Guys like Joe Thomas, Gronk, Anthony Munoz then finish out the draft with good LBers. Is that to much to ask?

Lordy, when I lived in Alabama in the '90's, this was all the rage when the Crimson Tide was looking for a replacement for Mike Dubose.

A second round pick? Yikes. I like Sanu but this seems high.

They don't play the same position but I don't know how this is good for the Browns if they were trying to get T. Williams. Mid-season trades are carrying a high price tag, I suppose.

Im guessing he fills a very specific need for the Patriots. Saw they were trying to trade for him a while back as well...

Josh Gordon seems like he might be out for a while, so I get the move. It's just a lot, in my opinion.

But it could also be Belichek and Brady's last stand so maybe the pick is irrelevant for them.

So essentially pick #63 or 64.

There has been a lot of back and forth regarding analytics. One thing that has changes is trades in the NFL. Before it was build through the draft.

Analytics are helping to uncover players who are under the radar. Maybe stuck behind a vet starter. Guys nearing the open market.

This talks about possible trades before the deadline.

That’s a great deal for the Falcons. Sanu is a free agent at the end of the season.

Every team should be calling the Falcons trying to pick them clean. They have one win and it seems like Matt Ryan is going to be out for at least a few games. Two guys on expiring contracts that stick out with regards to our team are Vic Beasley and Austin Hooper.

I’d like Hooper here, though I doubt we ante up for him. He’ll end up elsewhere

In terms of Sanu, I’m surprised they got a 2nd (even if it’s late) round pick ... and I thought the Pats might go after Sanders from Denver

Trading Sanu for a 2nd seems more like having the mindset of building through the draft, especially if the Falcons are punting on the remainder of the season.

I'm not sure that an analytics team would be clamoring over trading a 30 year old player (to be 31 before the start of next season) for a 2nd rounder in the upcoming draft. But that's just me.

I think he has one more year, but NE could cut him with zero cap casualties.

I agree, and under used. In Cincy he was playing against AJ Green and in Atlanta Julio Jones. He isn't going to have the same problem in New England who has a lot of receivers hurt.

Good trade for Sanu. He might start to get some love from Brady once he settles in to the system.

Good news for my fantasy teams headed down the stretch. I have him in both of my keeper money leagues and my one of my 3 seasonal money leagues. I didn't draft him in any.

NE is in win now mode. The window will close pretty soon. They have a bunch of receiver hurt. Sanu is a good pick-up at this point in the dynasty. You aren't worrying about future costs, you are worried about NOW.

I don't disagree with the fact they are in win now mode- I mentioned it in my original comment about the deal. I'm just challenging where the better value lies in the trade?....a second round pick in 2020 or a 30-year old, at best #2 WR. And he really has been the #3 for ATL.

I think the 2nd round pick.

Let's put this out there for the Landry truthers....what's better value? -- Landry for a 4th or Sanu for a 2nd? I'm not a truther and the answer is pretty obvious. It's Landry every day and twice on Sunday.

I get why they are doing it, I just don't think is as valuable as people think. Some of these mid-season deal are coming at a premium and the leverage might be for the teams getting the picks, not the other way around.

if the patriots go to the SB, that 2nd round pick is essentially a 3rd rounder.

you dont know what you're getting with a glorified 3rd rounder, but you do know what you're getting with Sanu.

I like Sanders too, though he’s older than Sanu. I think Shanny will do well with Sanders

Tom Brady is 42 freakin years old. Bill Belichick is 67. Their next option at this point at QB is Jarrett Stidham... The last thing on Belichick's mind is a 3rd rounder a year or two from now.

Sanu is a great pick up for the Pats. Besides 25 receiving TDs in his career, he has 2 rushing TDs and a 5.4 ypc, and he also has a career passer rating of 158.3 ... he's 7/8 (87.5%) for 233 yds with 4 TD passes, including a 73 yard TD pass. He's also pretty tough over the middle, taking hits and hanging on. Belichick will use him on more than one gadget play (reverse/end around or WR pass) over the rest of the season, I bet. Hopefully, he won't quite be ready to contribute against the Browns this week, being new and all.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/14922/mohamed-sanu

Denver trading Emmanuel Sanders helps us, since we go there following the Pats game, and I have to believe he was one of Flacco's favorite targets.
