Remember over the off-season when we thought we had a competent organization. That was fun. I know we have at least one very competent person in the FO. Everyone is suspect at this point. We should have known. When the leadership at the top is bankrupt it will trickle down. I'm concerned he's figured out ownership and is looking to jump ship.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

We are 2-5. We should not be giving up anything of value for a 31 year old player at any position.

Sounds like john is trying to get more assets to make another trade if you ask me.

That was my first thought as well. Again, we are 2-5, we shouldn't be giving up assets for anybody. We should be looking to trade anything that isn't nailed down (Joe Schobert, Damarious Randall, Rashard Higgins, etc.).

Joe Banner lol another worthless FO person that couldn't help us ... And yet he is correct here, and Dorsey was wrong to ship him off. Literally costing us NOTHING in salary cap space - for a guy that rush the passer. Guess what, next year, when we are looking for a NEW COACH. They may want a guy like him. Too bad we traded him for nothing.

No way its higher than a 4th, but more than likely lower than a 5th as that is where he was drafted.

The Eagles are one of the smartest teams in the NFL. When the smart team outbids other teams in order to acquire a player you don't want anymore; you should probably look in the mirror and say, "If they're the smart team and they was this player, what does that make us?"

Joe banner is spot on IMO. Trading him for a late round pick is not good value. I’d rather have him come in on every 3rd and 10 for 3 years
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

So, a 4th in 2021 is the equivalent to a 5th in 2020, isn't that the way the future picks are usually evaluated?

Yes. And it's outdated. A fourth in 2021 is worth a fourth in 2021.

Not a fan of moving Avery, at all... but, if we were never going g to play him, then a 7th would have more value.
We just need to walk away from the whole Trent Williams thing. Unless they are going to hand him to us for Avery's 4th, we need to stay away.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I was a fan of Avery. However, he wasn't playing - at all.
Scheme fit? Beat out by Chad Thomas? Chris Smith? Attitude?
If Avery requested a trade? He was right in doing so. He needs opportunities to prove himself.
I have no problem trading him if he wasn't going to play.

I think that’s the point. Given how he played last year there was no way he shouldn’t have been playing . Guys like Thomas, smith and ekuale can be found playing xbox right now

There are a number of people who said grace over that deal.
They don't make decisions like that easily. They grind over them. No spur of the moment thing.
You either trust the decision from those with day to day contact over his time with the Browns. Or, you do not.
