"Before I finished my testimony, my home and office were inundated with threatening messages and demands that I be fired from George Washington University for arguing that, while a case for impeachment can be made, it has not been made on this record," Turley wrote in an op-ed for The Hill on Thursday.

Supreme Court halts subpoena to Deutsche Bank for Trump records
The Supreme Court on Friday granted President Trump's emergency request to temporarily block a congressional subpoena for his financial records from Deutsche Bank.
The court's order came just hours after the president's legal team asked for a temporary stay of an appellate court decision ordering Deutsche Bank to comply with subpoenas from the House Financial Services and Intelligence Committees for a broad range of documents concerning Trump's finances and his businesses.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who oversees the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, issued an administrative stay of that court's decision that will be in effect until Friday, Dec. 13, while the court deliberates on whether to grant a longer stay and to give Trump's lawyers time to prepare a formal appeal.
The committees are investigating Trump's relationship with Deutsche Bank, which had given him $2 billion in loans and is reportedly being investigated for its role in money-laundering scheme involving Russia.
Earlier this week, a three-judge panel on the Second Circuit had ruled that there was a "clear and substantial" public interest in granting the House subpoenas to Deutsche Bank and the credit card company Capital One.
"It is the interest of two congressional committees, functioning under the authority of a resolution of the House of Representatives authorizing the subpoenas at issue, to obtain information on enforcement of anti-money-laundering/counter-financing of terrorism laws, terrorist financing, the movement of illicit funds through the global financial system including the real estate market, the scope of the Russian government’s operations to influence the U.S. political process, and whether the Lead Plaintiff was vulnerable to foreign exploitation," they wrote.
The fight over the Deutsche Bank and Capital One subpoenas is the third case involving Trump's financial records to reach the Supreme Court. The justices granted a stay of another subpoena from the House Oversight Committee for records from Trump's accounting firm Mazars. The court has not said whether it will take the case.
The justices are also considering whether to hear Trump's appeal over a subpoena from the Manhattan district attorney for his tax returns from Mazars.

Well - there are first hand witness accounts by "Trump" people that verify that the aid was withheld and it was contingent on the announcement of investigations into the Crowdstrike server and the investigation into the Bidens (his political opponent) .... There are first hand witnesses to the phone call (note - the actual call, not a watered down WH lawyer version of the call) that immediately raised the flag because they felt it crossed a line.... there's Giuliani running around as a back channel digging up dirt while also in contact with Nunes and Trump.... There's the lawyers hiding the transcript of the phone call away, there's the fact that the appropriated funds were actually withheld for no known reason and at Trump's instruction (no-one else has been fingered for this action and no-one else has the power). For me and 500+ legal professors there is way more than enough evidence to suggest probable cause and for the impeachment to begin.
With all that said - hardly any of this was disputed by the Trumpians. What was disputed and what I saw/heard a lot was "Ukraine got the funds - ergo no crime" ..... I'm seeing reports now that Ukraine has NOT received the funds (or all the funds).... wonder what whackadodle excuse the Trump faithful will parrot then?

My point was it’s been proven over and over in courts of law across the country. No funds need to be exchanged to prove bribery. There is no legal charges for attempted bribery. It’s just another bribery case. But trump is allowed to be above the law. He can go out and shoot someone on 5th ave.

It's funny that you seem to think that a president can forbid witnesses to show up and testify or to turn over documents to legal subpoenas issued by congress and not call that obstruction. There is some evidence for you.

This farce of a "proceeding" doesn't deserve the POTUS' time of day..nor that of the people he chooses to not (have) testify. The hand-wringing of desperate TDS sufferers won't change that fact.
