You may be right. WKNR is unlistenable except for Rizzo, who is a decent listen.

I don't know how that channel gets any listeners honestly. 92.3 is such a better product.

Rizzo is the worst on-air personality I've ever listened to...in Cleveland or any other city.

Using the term "midget" against Baker is derogatory towards all people with the disability - because he is using is a means to put Baker down. So in turn, he is saying being a "midget" is bad and detriment to being "normal". His words are indicating its wrong or bad to have that condition. THAT is why its derogatory.

I do not feel its being overblown:

1. He was the NFL combine, representing ESPN Cleveland, and in turn representing the local media as a whole.
2. He was in a work place environment, expected to act and speak like professional - which he has touted himself as since the "Jesus, Tony" incident.
3. He has condemned Baker over and over for "not being mature", "needing to learn to keep his mouth shut", and "learning when to speak and not speak". Then he does this - hypocrisy at its finest
4. The radio station he was representing, also is the Flagship home of the Cleveland Browns - the team whom employs the guy he called a "Blanking Midget".
5. When Baker walked out on him in that interview, he talked about how he didn't deserve to be disrespected, and how unprofessional it was and took the high road side of the argument, to then talk like this in a business and professional setting - at an NFL event.
6. If he is saying things like this, in a professional setting, what is he saying outside of one? Is it a good look for the beat guy to be bashing his teams players at events? How does that look for the company he works for, ESPN Cleveland?

I disagree, there is a difference between being mad about the team in general - and attacking people personally.

Want to take a shot a Bakers play, so be it. Have at it. Last year, he deserves to be talked about the way he played. Taking a shot at someone's appearance like that, is just pure plain disgusting and juvenile (which is funny, because he bashes Baker all the time for being immature). Also, Tony is 5'7 - just to add more hypocrisy to the mix.

He said something publicly to a national audience that is so derogatory and profane that we can't even say it on this message board without being suspended. He manned up, apologized and now has to take his medicine. I think he's done. What player is going to respect him enough to answer his questions or give him an interview? They have to wonder what he's saying about them to other NFL connected people behind their backs.

I guess I'm immune to stupid,,,, I don't care for Grossi and some of his crazy antics, but this, for some reason, doesn't really bother me... And that's the short and tall of it for me.

I can understand not really seeing it as a big deal - to the average fan or person.

I can certainly understand that the station probably has millions of dollars tied up between marketing spots, ads, employee salaries, and content associated with the Cleveland Browns - who is the employer of a person that was just trashed on live air by said company.

Trust me, to ESPN and Karmasin family - this is a big deal.

I disagree with you. Goldhammer is much worse. Jarod Cherry and Emmitt are extremely hard to listen to.

The only thing that annoys me about Rizzo is eating while he's on the air and smacking his lips when he talks because of it.

I guess I was referring to Rizzo as the worst because he is the a on-air host. It's his show. I look at Goldhammer as just the sidekick. But yeah, he's terrible too.

Jarod Cherry has trouble completing sentences on the regular.

I don’t get local Browns talk on my radio out here. When the Browns are brought up it’s usually as a punchline. Be grateful you get to listen to, and in turn hate, Rizzo, Grossi, and the like. I don’t get a chance to hate them.

Aren't those stations on the internet? I know that 92.3 is. I usually listen to that after the games to hear the post game interviews.

I guess I’m more referring to the day to day ‘in the car while at work’ sports radio listening. All I get is the Seahawks, some 9’rs, and Portland Timbers (zzzzzzz soccer talk is more boring than the actual game of soccer. Hard to do, but it’s true.) My only drive time hope to hear about the Browns is Cowherd.... so...

Radio.com on your cell phone will give you 92.3 all the time, except for live games. If you have blluetooth in your car, it's easy. If not, earbuds work great.

You can download the ESPN app, go to menu, listen live, and then select whatever station you want. That's how I listen to them. I just connect my cell phone to the my cars Bluetooth, and bam - it plays through my radio.

Careful what you wish for. The only Cleveland station I can get in my truck is KNR, and it's so nauseating I can't listen to it. The only time I put it on is if there's some breaking news. Goldhammer and Rizzo make me want to puke. The worst posters on this site are more tolerable than them. They sound like whiny children.

Thanks for the info. I have Bluetooth in my car but have my work phone hooked up to it as I have to be able to respond to those calls first and foremost. I wish my car could have two phones Bluetooth fully connected at the same time. As it is I have to a navigate to a menu and manually switch back and forth between phones. Which isn’t something I should be doing while my work phone is ringing and I’m driving in traffic.
I could run my personal phone through my auxiliary port though.

If the work phone is connected, and your listening to the app, when the phone rings it will automatically cut the off and go to the call for you to answer.

If Grossi had just used, "Imp", his topical, Game-Of-Thrones-related remark would have been appreciated.

I can’t have the app on my work phone. I’d have to put that on my personal phone. Like I said, my car only allows one phone to be Bluetooth connected at a time. I currently use an iPod to play podcasts through my aux port. I’d just have to do that with my personal phone if I was running the app. I’m not sure if the app would stop if my work phone rang through my car’s Bluetooth. I know my iPod doesn’t.... but that is old tech so...

Gotcha, I was assuming you would just DL the app to the work phone.

In my car, I can select AUX or BT to listen. I bet if you were connected to an AUX and your phone rang on BT it would override the AUX on the radio, but depends on the car I guess.

Maybe give it a try. Hook up your aux, then have someone call you that you know, so if you don't get the call your not gonna get fired lol.

I stopped listening to sports talk radio years ago. Once WKNR rolled out paid content, I was done.

I listen to podcasts now. There are so many great ones out there, of all different genres. Really the only sports one I listen to is Pardon My Take, and really sports is only a backdrop for that show. I am just tired of the same old recycled predictable takes.

Although every once in a while I do listen to Browns post-game call-in shows, because there is nothing like angry drunk browns fan calling in with his whole spiel about how his high school football glory days could make him a better coach than whoever is currently coaching the team. We all laugh and joke about being better than Hue or Freddy, but that guy actually thinks he can do a better job.

The simple fact is that a blind bat could have done a better job at managing the Browns than the plethora of idiots that has passed through the doors of The Cleveland Browns.

Grossi is a has been. He has zero contacts anymore in Berea and hasn't broken a story in years and years.
