Just clicking...

Ahh, the old "respond to your own post" trick... with a veiled reply to nothingness. One of my favorites!

Trevathon off the market ... someone who I was interested in signing. LB options are not great

I liked McCourty. He's good for what he is... a cog in a system. There's room for guys like him in all but the best DB groups in the NFL. But like I said before, I didn't exactly shed a tear when he left.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

No. Haven't you figured that out by now?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I see Hunter Henry was tagged ... it probably wasn’t gonna happen, but I’d have loved to have him

TRENT WILLIAMS
T, WASHINGTON REDSKINS

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports a trade for LT Trent Williams hasn't been close to happening yet.

The Redskins reportedly want a second round pick for Williams, but NFL teams aren't biting at that asking price. That's been the biggest hurdle right now, so unless Washington asks for less draft capital, then everyone will be at a standstill. Even if the Redskins and another team agree on trade compensation, Williams will have to agree to a long-term contract because it's unlikely that he'll play on his current deal. ESPN's John Keim reports Williams wants $20 million annually.

Yeah, the same FO that has already been there and signed him in the first place as well. Not a new one that started a handful of weeks ago and starts from zero. It's astounding how people don't understand the difference when it comes to negotiating with players.

That's right it is. Just like it was Banner's fault for not taking getting Mack or Ward done, or Farmer for not getting Schwartz done ahead of FA.

His career is dead in the water.
Nobody in their right mind is going to give up anything of significance for him, much less do that AND jump in with a $20mm/year new contract.

It's astounding the excuses people will make to create a false narrative.

Of course Dorsey had no clue he wouldn't be around at the end of the season to work out a deal.

Weak...

It's astounding the excuses people will make to create a false narrative. Schobert's camp said they were never even offered a thing. Because just starting negotiations in January is the smartest route to go down when FA is in March. notallthere

Negotiating in January? What happened to "He has every right to test free agency"? That doesn't sound like negotiating to me.

You implied Dorsey was fired and didn't get a chance to negotiate with Schobert but would have if he stayed. I'll remind you:

Your most recent post has nothing to do with both what you and I have said in this back n forth.

Shocking.

I didn't say Dorsey was fired. Cutting him off at the knees accomplished the same goal. I'm talking about someone signing players on their rosters now. Something you claimed was hard to do and rare. You are wrong on both counts.

This is hilarious. Start at your first post with the signing of Treviathan and follow the back n forth again. Then amend this post.

You now lead with trying to debate whether or not Dorsey was fired? Or cutting him off has any context to what I said or what I've always said re: Schobert? C'mon, do better.

Spoiler: I said a new regime taking over in January trying to sign FAs when a March FA is around the corner is hard to do.

Why? They have the same opportunity every other FO has in that same time frame. You're just making excuses why other teams can do it expecting the new FO won't be able to do it.

This is not true. The careless assumptions you are making coupled with the lack of a consistent argument are apparent....again.

j/c:

I think it's important that the FO tried to keep Joe. The Bears re-signing of Trevathian reduces the market. Joe is a 3-down LBer and he is worth more money than 2-down or pass defending LBers.

I think the Browns should target Tre Boston to play FS. He's productive and shouldn't be overly expensive.

I am not sure which one, but I think that signing a FA OT is a priority. It would be foolish to try and start two rookies at the tackle spots.

If healthy, I think signing Delanie Walker, the TE just cut by the Titans would be a good move. He's been very productive. We need another TE.

I would do all I could to keep Vernon. No need to create another hole. We might want to draft a guy for the future or pick-up another guy in free agency to play in case Vernon gets hurt again. I did like the job that Cox did last year.

The Browns are loaded w/talent. I think the above moves would definitely make them a playoff contender. I think that if Baker plays at least mediocre and our coaching isn't inept, this team could be a true threat to make noise in the playoffs.

As we’ve both said, the addition of Boston would be a nice signing ... he’s had good production for not a very high price

Agreed. I like Jimmy Ward but he may be expensive. I agree signing an OT in FA is a priority and drafting one is too. Walker is good as we saw that in the playoffs. We don't need anything near a rebuild. Our Browns need about 5 or 6 new starters and that is doable in FA and the draft along with keeping Joe. If we can fill those hole we have along with good coaching maybe we can make the playoff run we were suppose to last year.

Thank-you.

It was a dumb comment that insulted many people.

You just don't do that in a professional setting, in a public way. You just don't.

What impressed you about Cox? I’m curious to know.
I think Mack Wilson might be a solid LB, btw.
