Good question, lamp. I was actually hoping someone would ask.

When I first broke into coaching, I was an OL and DL coach. I was a QB and RB in my playing days. I had a lot to learn.

I thought Cox did a very good job of playing w/outside/in technique. If you don't know what that means......I will try to explain by saying that it is imperative for edge guys to get their outside shoulder towards the boundary on both running and passing plays. It's called outside containment.

Offensive linemen want to get to your outside shoulder and pin your inside on wide running plays and passing plays. You can NOT let that happen if you are no the outside. Some folks on here love Nassib, but he sucks at that.
That is why his PFF grades suck. Cox did a good job of maintaining outside containment.

Cox also generates some pressure. He pretty long. Decent burst. He is not a starter, but a pretty good back up if he can maintain what he did last year.

I thought Chris Smith was a big upgrade to Nassib, but that crap w/his girlfriend was too much. Glad to see he is re-grouping.

This is not true. The careless assumptions you are making coupled with the lack of a consistent argument are apparent....again.

You figured it out.

memphis....

No, each FO has this time to sign their players. Some do and some don't. Your claim is that one FO can do it but the other one can't. That's just a cheap excuse.

To be fair to this FO, the CBA vote is tonight right before midnight, I believe. Players have been voting since March 5th. Again, I'm just going on memory about the date and time.

I think teams are waiting to see what happens w/the CBA before they do anything else. So, our FO deserves a pass on that one.

I will add that I think the players would be foolish to vote down the CBA proposal. I truly think that they have no shot in hell of getting a better agreement, especially due to what's going on w/Covid-19 and the way it will affect health and financial issues.

Good point. We’ll see a flourish after the passing of it (and I assume it’ll pass based on what I’ve read)

The Redskins reportedly want a second round pick for Williams, but NFL teams aren't biting at that asking price. That's been the biggest hurdle right now, so unless Washington asks for less draft capital, then everyone will be at a standstill. Even if the Redskins and another team agree on trade compensation, Williams will have to agree to a long-term contract because it's unlikely that he'll play on his current deal. ESPN's John Keim reports Williams wants $20 million annually.

His career is dead in the water.
Nobody in their right mind is going to give up anything of significance for him, much less do that AND jump in with a $20mm/year new contract.

So, that means he will be a Brown. LOL

Incorrect. It makes a new FO's job, who just started in January trying to kick start a new working relationship with a player/agent subsequently makes it exponentially harder to sign that player to an extensions because free agency is literally weeks away and their camp is already gauging market value, which by all account is ridiculously high.

If Dorsey wanted to keep Schobert long-term he would have at least made an offer to Schobert (which he didn't) or signed him like he extended Trettor (which he didn't).

Expecting Berry to lock up Schobert (or blaming him if he doesn't) just after taking the job when Schobert has so much hype going into free agency and is going to have plenty of teams wanting him and possibly overpaying (as FA often is) is comical.

Comparing the two GMs as if they are in the same situation? Lol.

March 18, if I am not mistaken. Unofficially, it starts tomorrow with the agents.

"Weeks away" as in referring to when Berry took over.

It's all about money. It's a financial situation. Neither FO was willing to fork over anything close to his asking price. It isn't about "the love" they feel for each other.

J/C ...... Why would Schobert, or any of our players, want to offer the Browns a hometown discount? I sure wouldn't. I would want a premium to play for this team. There's no guarantee that the coach this year will be the coach next year, or the year after. Baker is going on to his 4th head coach and 3rd GM, going into his 3rd season. That's far from a guarantee for any kind of success. In fact, we know well how a new regime eliminates players that don't fit their ideals, and brings in new players. Year after year we see players who were once thought to fit, moved for players who "now fit".

Any "discount" comes long before the weeks leading up to free agency. And "hometown discount" isn't the phrase I would use, personally. The lens in which ones looks through for free agency value might not be as clear one season out (or during the season) as opposed to weeks before March 18th, IMO.

Tom would be a very short term band aid at best. Most teams want to build something.

It seems like his time in Nashville was an outlier from his overall time in the NFL, but there could have been other factors. Good luck to him.

Although up there in age, I feel like he fits in perfectly with their defense. And for a 5th?

Damn.

We got a 4th for Andy Lee. naughtydevil

I would have been happy if we'd given up a 4th for him. He's a hack of a player, and Baltimore got a steal. crazy

I am speculating that the Titans made the right choice in keeping Tannehill and not going after Brady. I'm assuming the latter will prove to be true.

With the Titans signing Tannehill that leaves Derrick Henry to be Franchised and probably sets OT Jack Conklin free to pursue a new team ...

The Titans cap situation I feel made trying to sign Brady very unrealistic.

I believe the full guarantee he gets no matter what, the total guarantee he gets if he doesn't get injured.
