Have you noticed how they treat each other in the football forums? It's not pretty and some of them have known each other for years. I will say you have to have a fairly thick skin around here but, it's not meant to completely mean or rude.

Me, Jules, and Lamp are often referred to as the more reasonable and compassionate posters...

(well, not so much Lamp, be we can't tell HIM that.. so keep it between you and me)..

Yes I noticed and that was the start of my confusion, I was like are we not all Browns fans or are people here just to argue about silly stuff. Now after more time spent around here and plus talking with another poster cleared a few things up, not that I was just going to leave because I can argue or be an ass too, it just was weird experiance at the beginning, and one I never figured would happen on a website setup for a group of people who have one thing in common, they are Browns fans.

Just chiming in, admittedly I have not read the whole thread. What if LJ shows up at a Browns / Steelers game wearing Steelers gear? How would everyone feel about him now?

(I realize this is a hypothetical since he admitted he's a Cowboy fan).

Well I would think that is wrong because he's a Cowboys fan.. as long as he sticks with his boyhood teams and does it in an understated way, I've got not problem with it...

Jules already admonished me in a PM for leaving you and Pit off of the list of compassionate posters.. I am riddled with guilt.

I don't really see what the big deal is. Every one of us grew up a browns fan but if you got a job in SF or NY would you stop cheering for you favorite team?

I know he is from Ohio but does that mean he has to be a fan of the home team?

I grew up in Ohio and was never a Cavs fan. Does that make me wrong?

It's really no different that if the Browns came here to where I live and played the packers. I wouldn't cheer for the Pack just because the people I live around think I should.

Lebron is no different from every other baseball fan in the world. Just because he plays a different sport in the same town as the Tribe doesn't mean he has to cheer for them. Especially if he has been a Yankee fan his whole life.

TAKE HIM OUT BACK AND BEAT HIM DOWN!!!

j/k man, people are taking it way too far, must not have enough to complain about since the Tribe is in the playoffs, Cavs went to the Finals and the Browns are .500

I thought Lamp was a middle-aged woman. I stand by that assessment. Do not let the other convince you Lamp is a MAN! It is a farce!

Think about it... do men care about lamps? No. Women care about lamps and curtains.

What a PUNK !!! wearing Yankee gear to the Jake !!!!!! The least he could say on TV is that he was divided. This changes my whole view of him.I'm not a Cavs fan but I will never ever root for him in any capacity ever.Maybe he and Jeter have a little Brokeback going on LOL.

It really isn't a big deal, the guy has stated many times over that he was a Yankee fan years before last nights game. At least he's not a fairweather fan that jumps on a teams bandwagon when they are winning, that to me says more about his moral fiber than just putting on a Indians Cap and acting like he's a fan when he really isn't.

AMAZING. You people complain about Edwards being a Michigan fan, but LeBron bandwagons for one of the biggest pieces of trash organizations in baseball and it's "no big deal".

He's a Cowboy's fan too.

Where did I complain about Edwards? If anything it was M fans complaining. I thought it was cool.

wait a minute, who complains about braylon being a michigan fan?

why wouldn't braylon root for michigan, he freaking went there...

i'm so sick of hearing about this, and reading some comments from cleveland.com, i find some of these cleveland fans laughable... saying they're no longer fans of the cavs...

you've gotta be kidding me...

do people forget game 5 at the palace and what he did for that organization that night? or how much charity work he has done, or how he has been a model teammate?

this is a joke... it should be a non-issue, he can root for whoever he likes...

now the fans at the game who were riding him? that's fair play, if you come into jacobs field with opposing teams' gear, expect to hear it... even if you are lebron james...

but these people lambasting him, even stooping as low as to say he's an embarassment? that's ridiculous

grow up.

Once we oust the Yanks, who wants to bet that he starts donning a Tribe hat and everyone laughs it off?

At the very least, I'd bet he'll get backed into it by someone in the media.

I got no problem with what he did but that is one thing he could have said to make it better.. "If the Indians get past the Yankees I hope they win it all."... that would have appeased some of these knuckleheads... and if he really IS a Yankees fan, you know he has to root for the Tribe if they play the Red Sox...

I have no problem with it.

This year, he's obviously chosen the wrong baseball team,..

It's only an issue because we let the media make it an issue. There are THOUSANDS of born Ohioans who hate the Buckeyes and the Indians, and the Reds, or the Cavs. Why is it OK for them to be "different ?"

The only reason this is a problem is because it's LeBron,...

Amen. My brother is a diehard Cowboys fan and has been since he was 10. It's because LeBron is the "face" of Cleveland and the media wants his liking of the Yankees to be another bad "slap" in the "face" of Cleveland like "The Drive" and "The Fumble". I don't care who he likes in baseball or football. It's who he likes and is loyal to in BASKETBALL that matters to me...I have lived in Colorado longer than I have in Ohio and I can't stand the Broncos, but I like the Rockies and Nuggets ( not over my Ohio teams though!!!).

I know fans of one Cleveland team who are not fans of a different Cleveland team. Personally it doesn't matter one bit which team Lebron wants to cheer for as long as he play his ass off for the Cavaliers.

YTown, you are apparently NOT aware of the Rules of Being A Browns Fan. It is wrong to be a Browns fan and root for a team from anywhere other then Cleveland, unless it's Columbus cause that's ok. Myself, I know the rules but I choose not to follow them.
