The people who loot and steal need to be swept aside for the scum that they are!
Start shooting them and lots will go home.
You are a terrible human being.
If you think so. We are just in different places.
I fully hope the cops involved get time in prison, especially the cop who choked the life out of George. That was horrible. I would expect him to get 30 years in prison. Maybe get out after 20 years. The others at least something for not doing anything. How do you sit there and think that is OK?
As for you, how do you think it is OK for people to loot and burn down a city? Answer that. Those people had nothing to do with this! The citizens of the community had nothing to do with this!
You should be ashamed, Luke. I have considered you a friend a long time. This whole conversation saddens me.
I am going to ignore your comment and consider it a comment out of frustration, but lawlessness needs to be stopped no matter the motivation .
If you don't agree, well....you are one of them.
I am certainly frustrated -- and the comment was certainly meant to be insulting, which is not the point of this board. I fully expected to get banned for it.
But, to be perfectly honest -- if you think it is OK to execute somebody on the street because they broke a window and stole a couple bottles of whiskey -- then I don't think we can be friends. That's not a political difference -- it's a profound difference about what is moral behavior, and what is not.
I sincerely hope your comment was also hyperbolic, and that is not actually where your conscience lies.

First, I wouldn't want you banned. I would be one of the first to say so.
However, lawlessness behavior doesn't sit well with me.
Do I want people shot? No, of course not. I want them to stop looting and burning. That is what I want, but if it takes a few examples to stress the point, so be it.
This has gone on long enough.
I don't think a vast majority of the people agree with what happened to Mr. Floyd, no matter why he was detained....to be honest, I am not sure why he was...I don't read the news anymore....why was he being detained? None the less, he didn't deserve to die. That cop needs 30 years.
I hope we have found some sort of middle ground. I hope so anyway. I know you aren't a kid anymore Luke, and things change sometimes. If you still want to be friends, good, if not, I'll wait. I am good at waiting.
I don't toss things away easily.

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A man has been charged with the murder of retired St. Louis Police Captain David Dorn five days after a handful of looters broke into a pawn shop in north St. Louis City and ended the night with a tragic loss to the St. Louis community.
Officials with the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office said 24-year-old Stephan Cannon was charged with first-degree murder for the death of Dorn. The shooting happened at Lee's Pawn and Jewelry on June 2 after a night of looting and violent rioting in St. Louis City.
Police said Dorn was found shot multiple times.

"[Dorn] was murdered by looters at a pawn shop. He was the type of brother that would’ve given his life to save them if he had to," the Ethical Society of Police of St. Louis wrote after the murder. "Violence is not the answer, whether it’s a citizen or officer."
Cannon was also charged with robbery, burglary, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.
According to charging documents, Cannon and other people can be seen on surveillance video leaving a Pontiac G6 just outside the pawn shop and then going in the store and grabbing several televisions. At some point, Cannon was the only one standing at a corner outside the store and then Dorn arrived. Police said video shows Cannon pointing the gun at Dorn and then Dorn is seen falling to the ground.
Witnesses told police someone yelled to the people inside the store and told them it's time to leave after shots were fired. Police found several 9mm shell casings at the corner.
Stephan Cannon mugshot 6/7/20 Officials said 24-year-old Stephan Cannon was charged with first-degree murder for the death of St. Louis police Captain David Dorn. St. Louis Police Deparment Cannon, the driver and another person got inside the G6 and left the area.
Police said Cannon admitted he cut his hair to change his appearance after seeing surveillance video released by police.
An eyewitness identified Cannon to police and officers found a television taken from the pawn shop at his home at the time of his arrest. Police said Cannon has a criminal history and is a felon.
“David Dorn was a fine captain, many of us young officers looked up to him,” St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden said.
Dorn spent 38 years with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department before becoming the police chief in Moline Acres.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office said no bond was allowed.
Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner said her office began an extensive investigation and with collaboration with the police department and the "outraged community, we have issued charges for the tragic murder of former Captain David Dorn."
This Stephan Cannon, what a garbage human being. I hope they lock him up and throw away the key!
'An end to traffic stops, street outreach teams, unionized sex workers and burglaries resolved by restorative justice: The vision of BLM activists for how to defund and replace traditional police'
Among plans put forward by Black Lives Matter, MPD150 and other activists to replace police are:
Mental health responders to attend mental health crisis in place of armed police
Street outreach teams, more shelters and affordable housing to help solve homelessness and stop the homeless from being criminalized
Traffic stops to be eliminated entirely, with traffic violations dealt with via. mail
Community members to attend domestic violence calls, to help intervene and establish long-term safety for the individuals
Specialized physical and emotional support for victims of sexual violence
Investing in prevention of sex trafficking to end economic and social conditions that lead to deeply rooted vulnerabilities
The legalization of marijuana to stop incarceration for the 'harmless' drug
Better handling of drug offences to stop 'criminalizing of communities of color'
Decriminalization of sex work and formation of an independent union to ensure individuals have insurance, child care and safety precautions
Restorative justice (meetings between victim and offender) to be used to deal with property crimes such as theft and burglary

So far it's worked quite well on people exercising their rights to peaceful protest.
The problem is your peaceful protests usually end up with burning buildings and bricks being thrown.
What about that?
I think you know I'm against the crime that happens in such instances. At least I would hope so. But I try to keep things in context. I certainly do not support using tear gas, pepper gas, using horses and rubber bullets against people who, "have not committed a crime" because some people, "might commit crimes later".
I see a clear difference between those who peacefully protest and those who riot. We all have our own vantage point and opinions on things. But from my vantage point I've seen too many times that the police have gone after peaceful protesters and too many times that I've seen looting and arson where no police were present.
I also look at your comment about if you start shooting them they will stop.
I will say I'm more than a bit surprised by that one. Now if you own a business and are protecting it with a gun, you have every right to shoot someone who comes in to rob your store. But I thought cops were supposed to uphold the law? And aren't they supposed to try and work withing the constraints of the law?
Where is there a law that says the penalty for arson or vandalism is death? Where is the law that deems arson punishable by death?
I believe that peaceful protests be protected under the law. The same law that gives you the constitutional right to peacefully protest. I think those that commit criminal acts be punished in accordance to the law of the land and sentenced accordingly.

Some people would rather portray 1000 people out of 20,000 as not being largely peaceful. We see it on here all the time. Ignoring that the majority are peaceful while accentuating the violence.
It helps them to distract away from what has been going on in this country for so very long.
But it is the 5% of you that ruin it for all of you. Don't point a finger at me. You are a PART OF "THEM" AND EXCUSING THEIR ACTIONS. Point fingers at them.
Face it, their actions are your actions. You own it.
Keep your temper in check and read my post above. You seem to advocate murdering people that should be getting 5 to 20 year sentences. I mean if we are going to start about people owning things.
Advocating murder does not look pretty on you.

So you only ant a few of them murdered to "set an example"? What is the sentence for vandalism again? What about the sentence for looting? How about arson?
It appears what the punishment is for the crimes committed do not matter to you.

So let me see if I get this straight. He didn't deserve to die. But someone committing a crime like looting, which is punishable by a few years in jail does deserve it because we "need a few examples"? I hope you can see how this sends a mixed message.
And BTW, I certainly wish to remain friends. I just considered you one who believed in justice. Not one who would steer away from "the punishment should fit the crime" just to set an example.

That may be your opinion.
Actually that's the law.
Not in Ohio. If you aren't in fear for your life, you can't shoot someone. Protecting 'property' does not qualify. If someone has a weapon and is threatening you with death or bodily harm, ok.
Traffic stops to be eliminated entirely, with traffic violations dealt with via. mail
DUI? Stolen vehicle involved in a hit and run? Yeah, no police should work well.

p.s. "Defund" is not the correct word. "Reduce Funding" is what is being sought. Defund would be to remove funding completely.
In no situation, ever, should we defund the police.
Half that list is just tripe. Everything on there about hooking will never happen, and shouldn't. Additionally, if it did... does anyone have any belief whatsoever that it wouldn't be highly regulated to the extent that a limited number of companies per city - or state - would be allowed to operate? And, who do you think would own those businesses? I'll tell you - friends/donors of the people organizing the votes in each state/city (whichever level ends up with control). Expect it to go just like the casinos and expect Vegas/Nevada money come in to control all of it.
Traffic stops simply CANNOT go away. Period. And that isn't even factoring in that there are police departments that work those like the plague to stay funded... irony, eh? The outreach stuff should already be happening. It's why there are things like family services and mental health parts of the health boards in every major city.
Basically, it's a bunch of well worded junk whose goal it is to set up a condition cops aren't around at all... and that CANNOT happen.

I'm a Springfield guy too. Try a Sig Sauer before you buy an M&P.
I almost think that the opposite is true. What if we increased police funding? That money would be directed toward increased salaries. The point is to make this a more desirable job and get a higher quality candidate. This would need to be combined with more rigorous testing which would include an in-depth psychological evaluation.
Just talking off the top of my head.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I want to stress something that maybe you don't know. Probably because it doesn't get the press it deserves. All we hear is about all of the murders in Chicago and little to nothing about black community leaders and groups fighting to stop it. I wanted to go further than your misguided innuendo that in no way tells the truth of what is happening in those neighborhoods.
Stop the violence: Chicago youth programs, resources
The "whatabout Chicago!!!!" people should really use this button to discuss their concerns.
We've discussed Chicago before, though. People don't like hearing the reality of the situation, so it just boils down to "people don't care about their own race, pull yourself up by your boot straps!" arguments.
Yeah, there should be no difference in accountability between criminals on the street and the police force. Good point.
I didn't say that. Of course, you have sunk so low that you need to resort to lies.
I will NEVER stand for any group that tries to divide us as human beings and as a country. I could care less what the low-hanging fruit has to say about it. I fought w/many whites for decades for their hateful and biased beliefs and I will fight w/the black supporters who are also hateful and biased.
I support people who want to work together and unite. I support folks who do not want to divide the races. I support those who want to make our country a better place for all folks. I will never support hateful, selfish, biased people.
You, Swish, Rocket, 888, 40, Day, Riley, etc can mock me all you want. But, I will never join the ranks of such divisive groups. I believe in equal rights for all people. And if you don't like it.............kiss my blank.
