Intolerance to someone with a different opinion is the literal definition 0f a bigot. So irony that Portland is calling someone a bigot.

Intolerance of my racist uncles is being on the right side of humanity. It’s not bigotry.

It is bigotry. Textbook definition.

So we should tolerate racism because it’s a ‘different opinion?! Get out of here with that garbage.
Racism should be shouted down at every corner. Those that espouse it should be shamed in the public square. Period.

It was just a joke. I spent endless Summers water skiing on that mud puddle. Camped at the St. Park, played around at Russell's Point during the last of its heydays. Best fried's fam owned property on the shore.

For scale, you and I have both swum in Lake Michigan.

900+ boats at the same time on that lake- just struck me as humorous.
Like I said- just a joke. Nothing more.

GC. General Election news.

Heritage explained to me, the A.C.E. is a much better situation than the C.P.P. and is even another example of how a vote for Trump is one for common sense and better business sense for all.

See in short,
IN one move he not only fixed the bullpoop overregulation Obama put on ever building a new coal fired power plant because of calling CO2 a pollutant,
He also met the same standards of fixing CO2 as a pollutant while removing the dems' punishments on the power industry,

so that IF, some future court ruling actually makes CO2 an "actual" polluteant, and it "doesn't" get overturned,

That Trumps policy already meets the standard of regulating it, while still helping the Coal Industry have a level playing field.

Thank God!
Again!

GC. Kamala Harris bounding off a jet way and in a factory wearing skechers' type sneakers, or Chuck's type, either way it's noticeably not dress shoes.(Flat sneaker type shoes with a white rubber base, black cloth top, white laces) (Among an otherwise- formal outfit, color black, pant suit.)
I say.

Kamala! You're running for "Vice President" it's not a Starbucks Barista or even something more dignified.

I don't think it's asking too much to demand all candidates for "Vice President" should wear dress shoes, especially in this context, even if they're comfortable type flats.
So!

1. She should have to wear dress shoes
2. She can wear whatever she wants
3. I should shove off for caring.

"Vice President" even campaigning for it, the office should demand respect.

I think it is unfair to claim that white people who vote for Trump are bigots. In fact, by definition, it seems that those who use a broad brush to label white Trump supporters as bigots are actually the true bigots.

I think we should treat individuals as individuals and these generic labels do a lot more harm than most realize.

That shoe fits both ways, with those that paint broad and mostly untrue characterizations about what the Democratic stand for. I mean, I can't count the number of times posters have implied that the Democrats want to let criminals walk free and that they don't care about law and order ... that they are for open borders .... then there's the ongoing un-truth that the GOP want small government and fiscal responsibility - but examination of the facts and looking at past administration's performance it's proven time and again that those things are not germane to the Republican party

I doubt it. I mean, knowing Trump and my opinion of him, I don't doubt the demeaning things he is reported as saying. But I don't think this is changing any Trump supporter's mind. Like so many inconvenient truths about Trump, his behavior and what he says/does ... it will simply be ignored and instead of wanting to know the truth it will be dismissed as fake news.

There is no Blue Wave coming and this election is going to be very close.

As to me hating someone for their political leanings... find where I said that.
I loathe my uncles’ racism. They happen to be trump voters. You twisted those two things together. I think they’re gross for their views on race. I think they’re gross for supporting the conman in the Oval. I can get past their voting record. Their views on race will forever disgust me to my core. If that makes me a ‘bigot’ in your mind I can live with that.
You can love and embrace the racists of the world for me. Enjoy.

Personally, I don't think the Lincoln Project ads are designed to change the minds of die-hard trump supporters. I think these ads are targeting undecideds and people who weren't necessarily planning to vote.

Trump supporters are as 'dug in' as any I've ever seen, and are not the targets of these ads for obvious reasons.

I think you are right. I guess I don't know that these Ads appeal to anyone/many who isn't already set and decided to vote against Trump already. I don't know that they will convince many 'undecided'.

IIRC, Lincoln Project is a bunch of Republicans that want Trump out. I just assumed that they're targeting their own demographic (Republicans/conservatives that can be convinced to look outside the party to receive their vote).

There's a huge difference between Trumpsters and Republicans. Many actual moderate Republicans have made it known they plan to support and vote for Biden.

I think you certainly have extremists on both sides. They will not be swayed. The Republicans methods seems to be trying to sell the idea that somehow Biden represents some "extreme radical shift". Which anyone who knows Biden's record can see straight through. There were other candidates that much closer represent that depiction which were not nominated by the Democrats.

The Democrats who voted in the primary made it clear they wanted a moderate and as such nominated one. Some people will buy what they're selling. But most know better.

I will try this again since one poster put out a list of reasons why people vote for Republicans. I did dome research and this is my list.

I agree. Here are my opinions on legitimate reasons why some of us are going to vote Republican in the near future.

--Lower taxes vs higher taxes that Dems would force on us.

--Smaller national government rather than the European social-style democracy.

--Gun laws. I don't need to explain.

--Personal freedom, such as school choices over heavy-handed government issued mandates in our schools.

--The economy is generally stronger when Republicans are in office.

--Things like wealth distribution and reparations for blacks are a big turn-off for most hard-working Americans.

--Dems want to dictate the equality of outcomes when it comes to racial groups. Giving people something for doing nothing while taxing those that educate themselves and work hard is a turnoff for many.

--Republicans are pro-life.

--Republicans believe in a market-based economy. When large and small businesses are thriving, the people are, too.

--Work ethic over handouts.

--Obeying the law instead of breaking the law.

--High morals over decadent behavior.

--Folks are against making DC and Puerto Rico states, which would certainly ruin the balance of power that we currently have.

I'll just address one of the false narratives on your list.

Business does well when consumers have the money to spend to support those businesses. Not the other way around.

And unless you make over 400k, Biden isn't going to raise your taxes.

AP Exclusive: Pence to attend event hosted by QAnon backers

WASHINGTON (AP) - Vice President Mike Pence and other top officials from President Donald Trump’s campaign are slated to attend a Montana fundraiser this month hosted by a couple who are adherents of the QAnon conspiracy theory.

That’s according to an event invitation obtained by The Associated Press and a review of social media postings.

The QAnon conspiracy theory centers on the baseless belief that Mr. Trump is waging a secret campaign against enemies in the “deep state” and a child sex trafficking ring run by satanic pedophiles and cannibals.

The social media accounts of event hosts Caryn and Michael Borland show they have repeatedly shared QAnon memes, or retweeted posts from QAnon accounts.

Tapes of President Trump's conversations were released today. Here's what we know so far.

CNN today obtained audio recordings from some of Bob Woodward's interviews with President Trump for his new book "Rage." There are startling revelations in the tapes about Trump's response to coronavirus among other topics.

The book will officially be released on Sept. 15, but here's what we know so far about the tapes and the book:

What Trump knew about coronavirus in February: According to a Feb. 7 tape, Trump said knew in early February coronavirus was dangerous, highly contagious, airborne and "deadly." Trump went on to say that coronavirus was maybe five times "more deadly" than the flu. "This is more deadly. This is five per- you know, this is five percent versus one percent and less than one percent. You know? So, this is deadly stuff," Trump said, according to the audio. Remember: This was 19 days before the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed first possible US case of "community spread."

"Play it down": In a March tape, Trump admitted he kept that knowledge hidden from the public. "I wanted to always play it down," Trump told Woodward on March 19, even as he had declared a national emergency over the virus days earlier. "I still like playing it down, because I don't want to create a panic."

18 interviews: The startling revelations in "Rage" were made during 18 wide-ranging interviews Trump gave Woodward from Dec. 5, 2019 to July 21, 2020. The interviews were recorded by Woodward with Trump's permission, and CNN has obtained copies of some of the audio tapes.

Other interviews: Woodward, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, conducted hundreds of hours of confidential background interviews with firsthand witnesses for "Rage." Trump's former top Cabinet officials are among his harshest critics in the book, providing some of the most brutal assessments of the commander in chief to date: "Dangerous." "Unfit." "No moral compass." "Doesn't know the difference between the truth and a lie."

What I learned today. GC.

Learned today Beto O'Rourke would be part of a Biden cabiet, and O'Rourke has said "he will be coming for your guns"

Well that was heresay from a talk show guy, but interesting none the less.

2nd.

Today Trump updated/let out a list of 20 potential supreme court justices he would nominate if a future vacancy became available, and said
The left would never do this because they know their candidates are so extreme that they would never pass public scrutiny. (He did this before the 2016 election too)

from me: (basically again, if everyone knew what the left wants to do, if unchecked, everyone would freak)

That's what they are, it's why I can't believe the democrat party still exists as 1 of just 2 viable parties, I think some other should have ovettaken the whacko left by now.
