Already giving moral victories? The election isn’t even over. I’m not confident Biden wins whatsoever.

Even if he does, look at the map. This country is so freaking divided. We are not a melting pot.

We’re just a collection of demographics.

Ohio and Florida blew me away last night. I was not expecting Biden to get stomped like he did.

I thought Biden was gonna do well in Florida. But instead, he got smoked.

And you know who I blame for that? The far left. AOC and them completely freaked out the Latino community there.

Ohio on the other hand....not surprised. This is the same state that had the state legislature try to pass a medical procedure that doesn’t even exist due to them trying to control women’s bodies. This state is starting to turn into a Christian version of a middle eastern country.

We should divide the country into 4 quadrants and let them compete. The south and Midwest can wallow in religious ignorance, and frack their ground water undrinkable while the rest of us move forward.

These states that can't count their votes, they shouldn't be allowed to participate.

Why aren't they all as efficient as Florida? Do we need to teach them how?

That kind of elitist thinking is why people vote for Trump. It's no different than the arrogant azzholiness of the Trump supporters driving people to vote for Biden. There are good, intelligent people on both sides that want what's best for the country and those folks need to assume the leadership of their respective parties if there's any hope for moving forward.

Dems need to educate the base and the electorate a lot better on how policies will actually help. We can finally get away from the "hey, we're no Trump" messaging.

Murkowski and Romney may work with Biden. Murkowski is going to need every vote she can get in Alaska from the liberal voters here to keep her in office. Romney, despite the nonsensical SCOTUS stuff, has tried to paint himself as the next McCain.

Some states allowed for mail-in ballots to be counted starting when they arrived. Others were prohibited by their legislations preventing them from counting until election day. Btw, all those states have Republican controlled senates

Should be interesting to see what this does to the service industry down here. Many of those folks make VERY good money in tips that outperform most hourly jobs in the area.

I know several bar/restaurant owners that say this will force them to raise prices or reduce staff over the next couple years, because the profit margins just aren't there.

Or we can go the way of other European countries and do away with tipping all together.

A victory for me. I don’t like Trump and he is gone. I’m a conservative to moderate so the Republicans picking up a few seats and not losing the Senate is a good thing. If Biden governs like the moderate he has been most of his career than some things will get done.

Dear America and all of those who learn conservative on DawgTalkers,

The President is trying to start a fascist takeover by declaraing votes, which have yet to be counted and turned in at a legal time, should not be counted anymore.

For any of you who voted for him, please rethink your life choices. You wish to destroy our country if you still support him after this nonsense.

Michigan just got called for Biden.

Knocking on the door. If he keeps Arizona and Nevada, and it’s over. Pennsylvania would just be a cherry on top, but he doesn’t need it.

Much better to have a cushion so we don't have to hear about faithless electors, recounts in WI etc for the next month...

No real surprise. I have expected Joe to be elected for several weeks now.

I wish him well if elected.

He is going to have a hard time with the Dems in Congress. I see they are already in fighting for power.

We'll see how it plays out.

It might not be much of a fight.

I think the center left Dems had enough with Pelosi and the squad. While they won their individual districts easily, the far left ended up being pretty toxic nationally.

It’s time for a new Dem speaker.

It’s obvious that the Democratic Party needs to work on their strategy. Their message is not resonating with enough of the country. This was the time, and they didn’t take advantage. They have turned off a large section of the country who would have voted against Trump. However, they alienated them so much that they voted against the Democratic Party, not necessarily Joe Biden. If Biden wins, this would be a great time to switch that narrative.

i agree. i just don't even know how they are gonna go about it.

like look at AOC. she honestly thinks biden lost florida because of his latino strategy. she's so clueless she doesn't even realize it was literally her and Bernie who alienated a lot of latino floridians in the first place. hillary outperformed Biden in miami-dade county.

and whats worse? the dems still might get off easy, because their saving grace is that there's probably not gonna be anybody who can energize conservatives and the far right like Trump can for the republican party for quite some time.

im worried that neither party as a whole is gonna take this election as a wake up call.

That is probably the reality, unfortunately. Neither party learns a damn thing. The fact that so many of our citizens can gleefully vote for a man like Donald Trump leaves me so concerned about the future of this country. A reasonable discussion can no longer happen from what I see. There is a Grand Canyon like divide in this country right now.

Pelosi has to go. She's institutionalized, not well-liked, a horrible negotiator, ruthless, fake as can be, and on top of that, she's 80.

This cycle would give her the time to bow out of the Speaker role with grace by saying she needs to step down and offer counsel to the new speaker. She won't adopt that approach though.

Agreed.

Dems need a new voice. The problem is that I don’t want it to be anyone aligned with the squad.

I would say that most would agree with you. I think the problem with the Dems is that each faction maintains such an air of self-righteousness and hubris that none of them show a willingness to compromise and come together just within their own party.

The Repubs on the other hand have a lot of hubris and self-righteousness, but are - or at least were under this admin - more rank-and-file. We'll see how they reform if Trump doesn't win.

Maybe now is the time for a third party to form. naughtydevil

we should be able to have at least 4 solid parties in this country.

but minor parties just keep getting absorbed into the two main parties.

Unfortunately, the third parties also have so many fringe followers, that they also become hard to sell to most people in the country.
