Only one side does this... Democrats are basically silent about the Debt during Republican administrations.

Also, with interest rates that are negative, debt is legitimately not bad now...

I don't care about the interest rates. $27 trillion dollars is bad. And the interest rates will change in time. I don't care who is in office, we need to address it. Surprisingly, the deficit generally goes down under Democrats and up under Republicans, but there is still a huge deficit.

It's not surprising, dems raise taxes and thereby raise revenues. It's not mystifying, it's basic math. You must have money to pay the bills.

I know. Trump is gonna look at the 69 mill that voted for him, and he won’t go anywhere.

I was simply stating what would be best.

That being said, depending one what gets exposed against a private citizen trump, that might erode *some* support and influence he has.

But I just don’t know what to expect.

General question for all in regards to the legality of PA votes.

Let’s say that it is deemed by the SC that the way PA and NV handled the election is illegal. At the time of the election, they were doing what they though was legal, and the citizens who voted did so under the assumption that their vote was legit, legal, and would be counted.

If we went back and don’t count those ballots, wouldn’t we essentially be taking away the vote and voice of the citizens?

I think it’s stupid that votes can arrive after the election, and hope it never happens again and is changed after this election. But I also think taking the voice away from the people is a little un American. It’s not their fault that they were following the law of their state that their highest court deemed legal.

This probably sounds a bit snobby, but I really am curious about the thought process of those that support “un-counting” of votes received after the deadline.

It’s hard to answer that question because votes always arrive after the election, especially mail in ballots from military members.

If someone voted by mail, as long as the post stamp was the day of the election, it’s valid. I’m pretty sure it’s been that way for most states since forever.

Also, you have to remember the cluster that USPS was in all this year, with major delays of ANY mail.

Votes can’t be canceled out just because of the government’s incompetence.

That's funny, I thought 93% of the GOP just voted for him to be POTUS for another 4 years... I'd say he will have some influence on those people for at least the next four years.

Except for the fact that in many States the criteria for vote submittal has be POSTMARKED by election date. Written into statute in the individual State.

So changing it to RECEIVED by election date is a new standard that could never be applied to current law.

Expost facto I believe the term is.. You cannot apply a law retroactively.

Ex post facto laws are expressly forbidden by the United States Constitution in Article 1, Section 9, Clause 3 (with respect to federal laws) and Article 1, Section 10 (with respect to state laws).

PA hasn't counted any of the votes that were received after the deadline yet. They were set aside from the rest of the ballots (since there is uncertainty from the courts).

Right now Biden is beating Trump only on Absentee ballots that were received before the election, there are supposedly something like 50-100k more of those to count.

https://twitter.com/ZoeTillman/status/1324798506880671751

Also, it is clear from the above tweet that every county is already segregating these ballots, the Trump admin just wants a SC order to say that, rather than a normal court order.

I agree with you. I do like CNN has Santorum on there, but there was quite a bit of liberal stuff - and the scenarios over and over were getting old. They had a lot of great interviews though, and I learned quite a bit about the minutia of an election.

For Fox, yesterday they had a guy on there yesterday going bonkers about fraud in Philly - he knows it is happening because he was from there. He went way overboard...but other than that, good coverage from Fox.

My questions are if BIDEN\HARRIS are elected and Trump goes away will;
Social justice immediately be achieved.
Will BLM immediately disband.
Will athletes still have a need to kneel in protest.
Will covid immediately disappear
Will black on black crime end immediately.
Will Kamala Harris be scorned by the white guilt crowd
and debase her for helping an old white racist {in her words and his actions} achieve the highest level of the U.S. govt? ,just a few thougts

To clairify, what the SC indicated was that they were willing to look at the criteria for reicept of votes. They did not change the current law.

PA had a 3 day period after the election. Postmark had to be election day in order to be considered legal and to be counted.

Sooner or later, they will run into Ex Post Facto. So the SC may change future elections, but there is no way a reasonable person could ever see them changing the current laws. That would violate the Constitution.

+No, regardless of who wins the amount of work on social justice needed is the same.

Will BLM immediately disband.

+No, this is a real virus and it will only go away when Americans take it as seriously as China did (I say this because for the most part life is almost back to normal there based on accounts from my colleagues there). And/or when a vaccine is available and everyone takes it.

Will black on black crime end immediately.
+This is pretty racist. No. Neither will white on white or white on black or black on white or any other color/race on any other color/race.

Will Kamala Harris be scorned by the white guilt crowd
and debase her for helping an old white racist {in her words and his actions} achieve the highest level of the U.S. govt?
+I'll need to look up the backstory on this

Yes - I only meant that Biden does not even need these ballots (which likely support him) in order to win.

Absolutely, positively 100% un true. A lie. I am not a ref. I can not ban anyone. When I have been banned, it has been my post/s that did it.

You got yourself banned, and I really think I had nothing to do with it. I was banned for about a week, and I haven't posted much since I got back.

The smartest thing for him to do is literally just take the L and never say anything about it.

We all know that won't happen though.

I agree, unless he has concrete/real evidence of fraud. If he doesn't I suspect he's just going to hurt his brand - how much is the question. One would think it will be hurt a little just by not being president - people won't feel as much need to have to use his companies. Of course, I could be way off base.

Agree here. Btw, I just want to say, if there is real evidence of fraud, then it should absolutely be dealt with. Wholeheartedly.

If there is not, and he is just saying it to galvanize unrest and foment distrust of the system, that is one of the most despicable things a president of a democracy could do.

Based on what? That's the question Trump and his supporters haven't been able to deal with. Based on more votes for Biden is not an answer.

Democrats chose to do the responsible thing, and mail in their ballots. These votes weren’t “found” they were legally cast.

It takes time to process hundreds of thousands of mail in ballots. Take issue with when states decide to count votes. Insinuating conspiracy is weak, and defeatist.

Those are actually all great points. You get some dems making opportunistic squawking when R is in office, but the overall group is fairly silent.

Great point about interest rates.

It is not that difficult to figure out. Deficit spending fuels economic activity. But that is a short term solution, as eventually the interest comes due.

Rod Blagojevich: Dems Stealing Elections a ‘Time-Honored Tradition’

Trent Baker

6 Nov 2020

In the wake of President Donald Trump sounding the alarm on potential voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich (D) on Friday accused Democrats of stealing elections for a long time.

Blagojevich told Newsmax TV’s “John Bachman Now” that Democratic stronghold cities changing vote counts overnight, and controlling polling places is a “time-honored tradition.” He went on to say that Democrats “stealing the presidency” is “incredibly dangerous to our democracy.”

“If the question is are the Democrats stealing votes in Philadelphia, my answer is, ‘Is the Pope Catholic?’ It’s a time-honored tradition,” Blagojevich emphasized. “Big Democrat-controlled cities like Chicago, my hometown, Philadelphia, to do precisely what they’re doing now I’ve never seen such a magnitude because this I think is an indication of just how widespread it is, how deep it is. And I don’t think it’s just confined to Philadelphia. My instincts, again coming out of Chicago Democratic politics, my instincts tell me it’s going on in Atlanta, it’s going on in Detroit, it’s going on in Milwaukee, it’s going on in Las Vegas. It’s like what Justice Powell said about pornography: You can’t define it, but you know when you see it. And coming out of the Democratic Chicago political establishment, I know how they operate. They control polling places, they stop votes when their candidate’s behind, and then in the wee hours of the morning, in the dark of night, the stealing starts.”

He continued, “And we’ve seen that in big numbers, unprecedented numbers in this election in Michigan and Philadelphia. It’s outrageous, and the fact that they’re doing it with impunity they’re doing it with is because the media is simply looking the other way because they have their corrupt mainstream media that’s not interested in protecting our Constitution or the rule of law. They just want to be Donald Trump at all costs, and they’re not just stealing from Donald Trump. It’s worse than that. They’re stealing from us — the American people.”
