When you start drinking, there is a point at which you can have a couple drinks and are still able to drive. Then you go through a period where you are still able to make rational decisions but aren't able to drive. Then you get to a point where you aren't able to even make a rational decision about whether you should drive or not.

I believe .21 falls into that last category. You have passed the ability to even make a decision for yourself. So don't let yourself get to that point or have somebody to make the decision for you.

I didn't get the feeling she was doing that in a "do you know who I am" kind of way. She was peeing her pants because she knew the poopstorm that she just started could very easily devastate her career.

Well I am sure she got the message loud and clear.

I don't like for anyone to lose what they have worked hard to get.

Hopefully, lesson learned.

Well, she admitted that she's been through sobriety testing before, meaning she's at the very least been suspected of dui. I've passed those tests while drunk/high, and I'll bet more than a few of you have also. I don't know about firing her, but they need to bring the hammer down. She was wasted.

One of my wife’s friends is in critical care after getting hit head on by a drunk driver. Her husband died instantly, she is currently intubated and hasn’t woken up since the injury. Has two kids. Drunk driver walked away without any injuries

I wish Callie would have just spent the night at her friends…

Devastating. My heart sincerely goes out to you. Hopefully Callie will realize this as a life-changing event for her...and whoever potentially would be be affected by her poor decisions later on.

I cannot imagine going through all of that. Man, I pray for strength for you and your family.

From my ancient history working criminal law cases in law school, I thought three days was mandatory - either incarcerated or in a program. Has that changed?

I did too. She confessed to being too drunk to drive on the tape as well.

According to this.....

Quote:
Kinkhabwala had earlier reported Brownson pleaded no-contest to operating a vehicle impaired. The OVI charge was dismissed and she was ordered to pay a fine and court costs totaling $780.

.....the OVI charge was dismissed. I have no idea how the hell you can blow over a .20 and get the charges dismissed, but it appears that's what happened.

If that were a black or white male it wouldn't have been dismissed. Yep, I'm playing the sex card.

There's something to be said for leniency or second chances, but this slap on the wrist is a joke.

I wouldn't mind that judge hearing it from victims of drunk driver accidents

That's the puzzling part for me. I used to both live in Ohio and was a drinker. But I've lived in Tennessee for about 9 years now and haven't drank over two beers and drove since I've been here. And even then it was a few hours after I drank those beers before I drove.

So I haven't had any need to keep up with OVI laws. But used to, if you blew over but it was somewhere close, with a good lawyer you could get it dropped to wreckless driving. Pretty much that second chance you spoke of. But even then if you had another DUI that one was treated as your second one.

So unless the law has drastically changed, I don't see how anyone could have blown that high and gotten away with not being convicted of OVI.
