at this point, unless you have a serious medical condition, i have no sympathy for those who won't get vaccinated and end up catching COVID.

we have so much supply, we're now exporting it to countries in in serious need of it.

and thats gotta be peak American culture right there. we got enough vaccines for everyone, but people choose to be morons. meanwhile other countries are in desperate need of vaccines and can't because of logistics and terrain.

we are so spoiled and full of ourselves that we've become very effective at killing each other off.....over nothing.

In your Dawgtalkers memorial thread, I'll say nice things like:

"He was one of the most prolific trolls we ever had. "
"His meme-posting skills were absolutely sick."

What they won't hear me say:
" He was smart, classy, the best of us; a true role model."

The Pfizer mRNA vaccine: pharmacokinetics and toxicity

So I stopped at the end of the abstract because it references 'an unprecendented medical disaster' has happened. I'm at a loss to try to determine what this is referring to. We had the blood clot thing, but that didn't have anything to do with the mRNA vaccines (it was the JnJ which is a traditional vaccine), and only something like 5 total people were affected. There are potential allergic reactions to the mRNA vaccines, which is why you have to hang out after your shot for ~15 minutes. I believe the vaccines are already contraindicated if you have an allergy to any ingredient in the vaccine. These adverse events are treatable, and the rate is 5 per million vaccinated (165m vaccinated = estimated 825 people have had anaphylaxis, which I don't believe is considered serious AE as it is treatable and does not leave permanent injury).

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

They may wish to read this as well.

The case of the German doctor: Sucharit Bhakdi

Other scandalous advice comes from the German professor of microbiology Sucharit Bhakdi, who claims that the new coronavirus is not a threat. The two most viewed videos on his YouTube channel have recorded a total of 3.1 million views, while his advice reached 927,300 Facebook users in the former Yugoslavia on Facebook pages of regional portals quoting this professor (for instance, Croativ.net, Novi horizonti.ba, Logično.com, Index.ba, Teleskop.hr).

One of Bhakdi`s claims is that the coronavirus does not pose a huge danger, and that the measures introduced in Germany are meaningless and self-destructive. However, data from the World Health Organization shows that we cannot treat COVID-19 exactly the same way we treat flu.

Also, the professor attributes the high number of virus victims in Italy to external environmental factors, such as the high air pollution in northern Italy and China, whileOECD statistics on the impact of air pollution on health question this assertion.

https://digicomnet.org/doctors-disinformation

And this...

Sucharit Bhakdi is a retired Thai-German microbiologist, known in retirement for spreading conspiracy theories and antisemitic polemic.[1] In 2020 and 2021 Bhakdi became a prominent source of misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming that the pandemic was "fake" and that COVID-19 vaccines were going to decimate the world's population.

He was a professor at the University of Mainz, where from 1991 to 2012 he was head of the Institute of Medical Microbiology and Hygiene.[4] The university subsequently disassociated itself from Bhakdi's views on the Coronavirus pandemic.[5] In 2021 Bhakdi's publisher broke off relations following the appearance of an online video in which Bhakdi made antisemtic comments

Do you mean a few aches and pains, fatigue for a day or so? Do you mean among those who are already immune deficient? Or are you speaking of any serious, long term side effects among otherwise healthy people?

I can only relate my experience with Moderna.

First shot nothing but a sore arm for two days.

The second shot. One day of feeling worn out and sore.

Third day full recovery. No real issues that were not expected.

Same here. My guess is that I know over 100 people (work, family, DT, + friends) and those side effects are pretty par for the course.

I had Pfizer. First day was just a sore arm that lasted a day or two. The second time around, the injection was very painful (for like 2 seconds), and I just felt like I wanted to sleep all day afterward. No actual sickness symptoms. Completely fine the next morning. Been normal ever since.

Normal for me at least.

j/c...

Well, we see NYC requiring proof of vaccination as well as large corporations and universities. None of them state anything about people that have already been infected with COVID.

An EU vaccine "passport" has been recently introduced.

The EU Digital Covid Certificate can be used to avoid self-isolating on arrival in the UK. It recognizes vaccinated and previously infected as one in the same. As it should, since rates of reinfection worldwide are under 2%.

I wonder if common sense will prevail in the US as well.

The links that Pit provided show that private enterprise is taking steps.

Have a vaccine pass or don't work. Take the decision away.

Let economics dictate.

Make it difficult to participate in life actions like work,
restaurants, any large gatherings, enclosed space.

Protect the general public.

I don't know if you responding to me.

I'm speaking specifically about recognizing those that have had Covid as the same as those that have been vaccinated. Reinfection has been way more rare than vaccinated individuals getting infected.

You've never schooled me on anything. Period.

Your second to last sentence? the last part "...before I run you (me) off again." Hilarious, but it does point to your agenda.

The only 'schooling' between you and I was back when W was president and you blamed gas prices on him and his big oil buddies. I schooled YOU.

I often times choose to not argue with with someone that has only 'argue' on their mind - or think so highly of themselves they feel they control the board and can 'run off' someone they disagree with.

Funny you should ask, I asked my Doc that very question last week.

Pfizer has the least side effects reported followed by Moderna and then JJ

Personally, My wife and I and Mother in Law and sister and Brother in law all had Pfizer.. No side effects at all for any of us.

The one pain we all experienced was right where the shots were given... That was the next day and was gone quickly

They have been approved for early use. It was beyond the experimental phase.

Let go of your fear. It’s okay to be wrong.

So where did you get your medical degree??? University of Facebook? or University of Twitter?

I could go elsewhere, but I will refrain.

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

Well get ready because the FDA is looking over the Pfizer application right now and approval is expected early next month.

The least amount of long-term side effects among otherwise healthy people.

For all three vaccines the number of long-term side effects are so small that they are almost difficult to calculate (1 in a million or so)...

If I were to choose a vaccine now, it would be Moderna (the efficiency seems very slightly higher than Pfizer, though it's not a significant difference).

But, if you are worried about side effects, I would get Pfizer. This isn't because I think there are any more side effects for Moderna -- it's just because Pfizer has been given to more people worldwide, and so it would have been easier to detect even the rarest of side effects.

At this point, if I were offered a choice of vaccines, I wouldn't take J&J. This again has nothing to do with side-effects -- it is just somewhat less effective. If Pfizer and Moderna were not available, I would take J&J in a second.

For what it's worth, I had two doses of Pfizer. Sore arm for two days after both, a little headache the first night after dose 2 (cured by Tylenol).

I thought the blood-clotting thing was JnJ.

Regardless, there is a long list of things that can cause blood clots. Stress and fear (like thinking your govt is out to inject you with alien-reptile-DNA-doing-an-unholy-sex-act-with-nanobots vaccine), and a diet of too much 'bad' fats and sugar carry a higher risk of causing clots in an otherwise healthy person... but you don't see the Alex Jones crowd growling about that (too busy talking about fluoride).

Here's the thing... I do believe there is room, at our current point in time, for some hesitancy regarding vaccines. They aren't fully approved, and they were rushed through development. They did have to prove some amount of safety and effectiveness to receive EUA, but just because it's been established to be safe and effective for the vast majority of the population doesn't automatically guarantee that it's right for every body out there. Everyone's health is different and their own. So if you're not sure about getting the vaccine (you have some sort of health condition that you worry could react badly to the vaccine), then talk to your doc and get their input. There are medical experts out there that are or can become familiar with your medical history and can advise you. For the vast majority of people, getting the vaccine is the right move but there's nothing wrong with double-confirming that regarding your own health situation.

Getting back to the first part of my post, there's a big difference between people that are honestly skeptical/hesitant about the vaccine, and people that (for whatever reason) are dead-set against it and/or have bought into some pretty ridiculous misinformation. If you're an otherwise healthy individual, there's probably no reason for you to be so opposed to protecting yourself and those around you from this virus. If you're worried about the vaccine having some crazy rare side effect, then you should talk to your doctor, but you're also probably being somewhat hypocritical as the average American diet/lifestyle carries way more risk to health than the vaccine.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

That was very empathetic and well said. Good reminder to me that I need to dial back from my own combative proclivities.
