Bilbo seems like he’d be great on Landry’s quest to get a ring.

Bilbo wanted Landry to go to LA because he wanted to defeat all the Smaug.

Now that Jarvis has gone there, he can come back again to Cleveland.

I think it is very reasonable/easy to see the hypocrisy of media coverage between DW and TH...if for no other reason than fill-in-the-blank abuse was/is all over the coverage of DW. It would be a layup on abuse-coverage to then point out TH's transgression(s). In the end, the media loves to dump on Cleveland and they are gorging on a smorgasbord...again.

I remember more so that the Browns wanted a re-worked one year deal and Jarvis wanted multiple years.

It could just be Jarvis wanting to shake things up. He went from "having a lot of interest" to still not being signed, watching teams sign dudes for big money and all that. He probably wants stuff to get squared away and done.

The Chiefs avoided a $120 mil contract...picked up JuJu and Scantling and now have (2) picks next month in each of the first (4) rounds.

I'd take that.

I can't help but think his agent lost the bluff game. I like Jarvis a lot...he was quite overpaid here but worth every penny...but it was a different time/team and he was a younger player when he got here. I won't be surprised if he comes back - even though I believe we need to get more explosive and that ain't him - if for no other reason than neither side can do better elsewhere than they can with a reunion at this point.

Two players that enter the Jarvis equation.

Schwartz and Felton. Felton showed some playing skill. But currently we are three deep at running back with the tender of D'ernest.

It looks like Felton may be best suited to play slot.

Schwartz has worked out and spent a lot of time with Jarvis. Jarvis is a great mentor.

Half of the reason they drafted Schwartz was speed. The other half smarts.

Maybe Schwartz will show the needed improvement. And the work with Jarvis may payoff.

Now with a new qb the finals in the receiver room will be intersting and important.

I don't see how you can take what we saw last season to realistically project either Schwartz or Felton into any sort of significant contributing role for the offense. Schwartz, in particular, showed more bad than good, IMO.

They were rookies. Not saying they will be good players, but a lot of growth happens to rookies between year one and two.

I could see Schwartz taking a big step this year. He missed most or all of training camp and then had injuries during the year. It was a lost year physically, but he may have learned a lot. He may be the fastest player in the NFL.
It's rose-colored glasses, of course, but maybe DPJ will also take a big step. If they both do, along with Cooper and a decent second-rounder in this deep draft, you could have a nice WR room without Landry.

What we saw is normal for later round devlopmental players.

This year we shall see what improvement they have made.

That is the problem I have with the pick. Day two picks are not supposed to be developmental selections ... No! AB reached here with him, but I can't hold that against him as the Draft has never been an exact science.

No, I wouldn't do that.

I actually like this deal for KC. No, they won't be able to replace the Cheetah. But, he was going to break the bank and they got a lot in return for him. They have something crazy like two firsts, two seconds, two thirds, and two fourths. Not sure if that is entirely accurate, but it's close. They could package some picks and move up in the draft to get Garret Wilson or even Chris Olave. The latter is very fast and fluid and I think Wilson is going to have an impact similar to what Justin Jefferson did a couple of years ago. Both of these guys are really talented. Another thing.........while I don't follow the draft much anymore, this WR class is crazy stupid in how good and deep it is.

I know. First impulse is "the Chiefs lost Tyreek!" Then I read the details and look at their draft capital and just hang my head.

Brilliant move IMO. They got a ton for a player they could no longer afford.

This draft is loaded with top end receivers.

The Chiefs have to manage cap with Mahomes, Kelce and some others. You do that by loading up in the middle rounds with picks.

Guys you can develop cheaply. Hill (who I despise) is really good. And no doubt he had chemistry with Mahomes.

However, Andy Reid IMO one of the best offensive minds in all football will adapt. In fact they may get better. He will spread the ball around more and become balanced.

Hill was moved at the right time and they got full price.

I wondered if we might take a flier on him. Apparently one former first round DL "bust" was enough after signing Taven Bryan.

I'm not sure what the Texans are trying to do with their approach to roster building. I think they have something like 9 receivers under contract at the moment, and this is before the draft and UDFAs. I wonder if Brandin Cooks might be available in trade.

What sort of salary cap wizardry have they got going on in LA? How do they keep bringing in expensive vets?

It's pretty easy to create a 2 to 3-year window. Just push everything out until 2024.

It gets a bit harder after that if you're not using the push out to ultimately just create more cap flexibility and carrying over a good bit of unused cap every year to offset the future ballooning salaries.

I suppose worst case you can always do a couple post June 1st designations to plump up the carry over to next year...then the next...so on and so forth.

LA is the home of the “on the hill” athlete signings

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Patriots have constantly recycled underperforming WRs … seems like a common theme, especially with their WRs on the outside

The Patriots trade within their division more than you think. Hell - that's how they got Bellichek.
