This is a good film breakdown of JOK.

IMO JOK will be great in the NFL. Every once in a awhile athletes come along that break the mold. It happens in all sports. Ali in boxing.
Lebron etc.

JOK is a new breed. It was obvious when you watched him in college. He came to the Browns. He did the same things. His career is just begining. I am going to enjoy every minute of it.

I agree he might be a really good player, but I am not sure I would be mentioning him just yet with people like Ali and Lebron. You might as well add in the Babe, Wayne Gretsky, and Jack Nicklaus.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

I think the comment might be more about the way JOK has the potential to change the way a position is played - rather than suggesting he's going to be a GOAT type player.

Interesting video to see some of those plays broken down - also interesting the stats quoted for Taki Taki ! More impressive than I would have guessed.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

I didn't mean to imply he would reach that status.

I meant more along the line of breaking the mold. Ali broke the mold of what a heavyweight was.

LeBron played like no other big man. He is a point guard in a giants body.

JOK is way different than the linebackers I grew up watching. Butkus was 6'3" 250.

In the NFL linebackers were defined by how they could "stack and shed."

I have not seen a linebacker play like JOK. I hope he does become a HOF'er.

I think JOK is in the top 6 players someone would list of Players that have to step up and make a big play if the 2022 Browns are going to win a tough game.
or rather, of players, that if One Single Play changed the game so that the Browns won, the player who made that play would most likely be named what.
^ And on that list, I think JOK would be in the top 6, or at least top I3.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Before I get to JOK, I want to say something about Goodson. I don't think he was a good LBer, but the guy who did the video ignored something. Goodson's first look in that coverage package was to protect against someone flashing in his immediate area and while our DB had nice coverage, I thought Goodson did what he was supposed to do. However, he was a little slow once he started in pursuit.

JOK: I was really impressed w/him last year. He flashes on the screen. Very quick. Explosive. Great lateral quickness. Takes good angles. Not the strongest guy, but he can slip blockers and get guys down when they have the ball. It's early, but I see him as a guy who is going to be a very good player for quite some time and he will get more recognition if the Browns find more success.

I see people do that a lot when breaking down plays. I'm thinking, "well it's easy to see that when you already know the result of the play!".

Interesting insight there...the author said BJG was a little late in recognition...when in reality he was doing his job. The "slow in pursuit" was not only undeniable...but painful.

Yeah, the replay shows how the one WR to the left of the formation crosses Goodson's area. I think it was Hardman, but not sure. I get Goodson's first read. But, you are dead on that it was painful to watch how slow Goodson was to the ball.

Btw......I'm not knocking the guy who put this video together. He did a very nice job.

Back to JOK. I didn't realize he had a heart condition or maybe I just forgot about it. Maybe that explains why he slipped to us. He was a great value at where we got him. I think he is going to be a fantastic player.

I wish knew how to get coaches tape and then do breakdowns.

I know how to breakdown plays. I don't how to do it with tape and then be able to post it.

JOK is just fun to watch. He is on his toes like a tennis player waiting for a serve. He sees the play and then cuts it off. He does it explosively.

When he drops into coverage. He flips his hips like a db and he is on the guy.

When he tackles. He stops the guy right there.

When I watch a game most all the time I am alone. I rarely get to do it with my son. So, I watch a play rewind it and watch again. Because tv film is limited sometimes it hard to see what I want to see. On defense you can only see so far. Usually JOK is in the camera field so I can see him.

I find myself often just saying out loud. "Damn." "He cut that play down." Some players you like their game. Chubb and Hunt are also guys I love to watch.

Once the roster is set it will be time to dig into more about position depth.

D'Qwell Jackson was on the local radio being interviewed.

He said DW taking the the offense to the Bahamas was some jester showing leadership and team building. He was asked about the linebackers.

He stated that JOK will be one of the best in the game very soon. That he will have his own role when they figure how to use all his skills.

It is interesting to listen to the comments made about JOK from teammates ever since he came to the Browns. You can not fool other players when you practice with them everyday.

Every player I have heard says he is the real deal.

This year will be interesting.

Jackson hasn't played for the Browns since 2014 and has never been a team mate of JOK or even played under the same coaches in the same system. Much like yourself I think JOK has the potential to be great.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

It was his observations of JOK given when asked in an interview.

I mentioned it because he played linebacker and that is all.

Not to speak for him, but I read it as each was a separate statement. Jackson spoke about seeing him play, the team mates comment was about actual comments from JOK teammates from last year. Unless I read it wrong.

I had to read this sentence 3 times before I got it. "jester" threw me off. Completely changed the tone of the sentence.

As to JOK, I am still in shock we managed to draft him after opting to go with Newsome in the 1st.

How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

LOL, me too. I was wondering if Watson was playing a joke on his teammates by saying he was taking them to the Bahamas. Imagine the uproar that would have created? LOL

Those guys all hanging out and working together is great news. Watson is a great QB, and a true team leader. This time spent together will build a bond amongst the players, plus it is a good time to get used to how each guy operates. I am jacked about what we are going to see with this offense this year.

I am in good shape. Never spent a night in a hospital. I am not a any medication.

But damn I find myself making mistakes that I have never made especially writing. Spelling damn, I will proof something and leave words out that I thought but never typed.

Oh well no complaints here.

JOK🔥

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is PFF’s highest graded rookie defender.

I might be wrong, but I think that ranking might have been after 4 games. I just went to PFF and looked-up player grades for linebackers. Micah Parsons had the best overall grade. With that said, JOK was ranked 9th overall of ALL LBers, and that includes veterans. His overall grade is over 78, which is very good.

I found this from PFF as part of another article that was talking about how Newsome and JOK made PFF's all-rookie team. This excerpt is what PFF had to say about the duo.

Quote
Newsome was excellent in single coverage this season for the Browns. He allowed just 14 receptions on 31 single-coverage targets as a rookie and was PFF’s highest-graded rookie cornerback on those targets. Cleveland has a promising young cornerback tandem to build around between Newsome and fellow former first-round selection Denzel Ward.

But the speed JOK plays with, and his ability to handle a wider variety of coverage assignments than your average linebacker, has made an immediate positive impact on Cleveland’s defense. PFF charted Owusu-Koramoah with just 168 passing yards allowed into his coverage on 300 coverage snaps this season. That rate of 0.56 yards allowed per snap ranked third among off-ball linebackers with at least 250 coverage snaps during the regular season.

Impressive.

Boy Bone getting a lot of flack on a simple post... I didn't think twice and read it as GESTURE
Any ways one thing for sure JOK is a very special LB he has GREAT INSTINCT combined with Explosion and amazing game day speed. We got a winner for sure. Cap/Vers One of the videos I watched recently said that he fell to us due to some Chatter out there about a Heart Condition and that is why he dropped.

I'm wondering if we were the ones who put that rumor out there so we would get him...lol laugh

The D with Taven, Garrett and Clowney - man I hate to be redundant but with NO TRADE we would have had Jordan Davis to add in there. Actually a DL of Best ever proportions add in our formidable DBs and then JOK at LB. Why I didn't like the Trade it had nothing to do with Baker it had to do with us building a DYNASTY with a defense that wins championships. Done with 3 years of first round picks.

I wasn't trying to be mean. I just thought it was funny given the context of Watson being involved in the sentence. But bone.....if I offended you by laughing, I sincerely apolotize. I wasn't making fun. Hell, I still struggle on occasion when to effect or affect.

https://www.brownsnation.com/jeremiah-owusu-koramoah-looking-to-take-a-big-leap-in-2022/

This is from this morning but maybe it is dated. I don't know. I just saw it. Rookie defender.

It does not matter really. Parsons is a good player. He will get the nod most likely because they use him as a pass rusher more and he will get sacks.

Sacks are nice but every down counts. Playing linebacker is more than sacks and rushing the quarterback.

The trend to be a three down backer is being able to play in space. Being able to drop into coverage and not just zone coverage. JOK is 6' 2" 220.

His versitility is unique. I am really curious to see him this year and watch him play the full schedule.

No need to explain...and it had nothing to do with ONE poster it was the collective response to Bones post. No biggie. Did you hear about the bogus rumors about a heart condition???

I was trying to think why did I type "jester?"

I figured it out. As I was scrolling down the page I saw "jester" the poster's name. I came to the spot to type gesture and jester was in my mind.

When I typed it even though I was looking at "jester" I was thinking gesture. Oh well 74 years on the planet your mind plays tricks on you.

We can only imagine Davis. I have high hopes for Perrion. Playing next to Myles or Clowney will give Perrion some space to attack guards. Perrion is quick. I think we will see some pressure from DT.

We have enough at tackle to keep guys fresh. We will be very good at all three levels. Woods should be happy. I think we have the personnel to execute his vision for the defense.

Get your rush from the front four. Have linebackers who can play in space. The secondary is interchangeable from corner to corner and safety to safety. Delpit and JOK can be true rovers. Not limited to traditional roles of safety and OLB.

I am excited about the personnel on defense.

Watching us play WITHOUT him and then WITH him … man, he makes a huge difference. He’s the prototypical LB for today’s NFL

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I can see that.

Also Ed Reed.

Jeremiah is small for linebacker. But he is not small. He really is a hybrid guy. Somewhere between a safety and linebacker.

That is physical.

What I see is his instincts. He reacts quickly and moves with purpose and explosiveness.

That for me is JOK in a nutshell.
