I know people who think the election was stolen. I think we may have posters on this board - intelligent, normal people - who think the election was stolen. There are certainly MANY posters who believe that there are questions about the elections and we need to introduce election reform laws to make it harder to vote based on this election result. smh.

To add - I haven't watched any of the hearings or news since this public part of the hearings has started. I did read an article about part of the testimony.
What stood out - it was a member of Trump's team - or a former GOPer - talking about how the elections were not even close. He mentioned that AZ was the closest state - and Biden won by more than 10,000 votes. (It was a GOPer who was involved in the tight FL election result between Gore and Bush).....
This made me think - in Arizona the CYBER NINJAS were given what was essentially an unregulated "Audit" - carried out by a team of amateurs who had a predetermined effort to find voter fraud. They even actively recruited election deniers. Any fraud - bamboo or otherwise was never found or substantiated. It was not a transparent process and conducted by agenda driven amateurs and it found NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE.
And that was the 'closest' state. smh

Steve Bannon Threatens Bill Barr Will Be Put on Trial If GOP Takes Power
Right-wing strategist Steve Bannon floated the possibility that former U.S. Attorney General William Barr could face trial if Republicans return to power, urging the staunch conservative to "preserve evidence."
Bannon served as the chief executive of former President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign and went on to work as a chief strategist in his White House. During his War Room podcast on Wednesday, the Trump loyalist blasted Barr, who was the former president's attorney general, and his new memoir entitled One Damn Thing After Another, which was released in March.
Although Barr was widely viewed as one of Trump's most loyal Cabinet officials during his tenure serving under the former president, he has drawn substantial right-wing backlash for repeatedly pointing out that there is "no evidence" to support claims of widespread fraud surrounding President Joe Biden's 2020 election win. Barr resigned as attorney general in mid-December 2020, just over a month before the end of Trump's White House term.
The show notes for War Room's Wednesday episode explained: "Bannon concludes that Barr's book will be used as evidence against him in a trial after the GOP takes back the White House." During the episode, Bannon described Barr's memoir as "shocking," knocking the former attorney general for acting like "some big hero."
"Dude, you are a wimp and a loser," the podcaster said. "And I gotta tell you, that books going to be used as evidence against you."
Later in the segment, Bannon slammed Barr for "the lies he tells about election fraud, the lies he tells about misleading President Trump."
"I would tell to Bill Barr, 'Preserve your documents, preserve your documents, OK?'" he said.
Trump has criticized Barr publicly, calling him "weak" and "ineffective" in a March statement.
"Former Attorney General Bill Barr wouldn't know voter fraud if it was staring him in the face—and it was," the former president claimed. "The fact is, he was weak, ineffective, and totally scared of being impeached, which the Democrats were constantly threatening to do. They 'broke' him."
While some Democrats did call for Barr's impeachment, a serious effort to do so never moved forward or appeared to have enough support to succeed. Even if an impeachment had materialized and succeeded in the House, the former attorney general would have all but certainly been acquitted in the Senate, which was controlled by Republicans during the entirety of Trump's presidency.
Trump and many of his allies continue to insist that the 2020 election was "rigged" or "stolen," despite a lack of proof corroborating the extraordinary allegation. Barr said publicly in December 2020 that there was "no evidence" to back the claims after he had the Justice Department investigate. Barr wrote in his memoir that he told the former president directly to his face that the allegations were "bulls**t." Other prominent Republicans and former Trump administration have made similar public assessments.
More than 60 election challenge lawsuits brought by Trump and his supporters in the aftermath of the 2020 election failed in state and federal courts. Even judges appointed by Trump and other Republicans consistently dismissed the legal challenges. Meanwhile, audits and recounts across the country—including in areas where the election was overseen by pro-Trump conservatives—have consistently reaffirmed Biden's win.
Bannon was arrested and charged by the Justice Department in August 2020 for alleged fraud connected to a crowdfunding campaign in support of Trump's long-touted border wall. Barr was serving as attorney general at the time. Trump later pardoned Bannon on the last day of his presidency.

WASHINGTON — A document, titled “1776 Returns,” which federal prosecutors said was used by the leader of the Proud Boys, lays out a plan to occupy Capitol buildings on Jan. 6, 2021, using covert operators to let "patriots" inside government offices in an apparent effort to force a new election.
Enrique Tarrio, the former leader of the Proud Boys, and four other members were indicted on seditious conspiracy charges this month. Tarrio has twice been ordered detained until trial.
The nine-page document, filed in federal court Wednesday, lays out a plan to fill buildings “with patriots and communicate our demands." It's stated goals include maintaining control "over a select few, but crucial buildings in the DC area for a set period of time" and getting as "many people as possible inside these buildings."
“These are OUR building, they are just renting space,” the document reads. “We must show our politicians We the People are in charge.”
The New York Times in March reported on some of the details contained in the document. It's full text was shared in a Wednesday court filing by one of the Proud Boy defendants.
A lawyer for Proud Boy Zachary Rehl, who is seeking release from pretrial detention, included the document in a motion, which maintains that Rehl “had no knowledge of the document.”
The document lists eight targets: the Supreme Court, the Russell Senate Office Building, the Dirksen Senate Office Building, the Hart Senate Office Building, the Cannon House Office Building, the Longworth House Office Building, the Rayburn House Office Building, and CNN.
Under a section titled "Manpower Needs," the document lays out five different roles: (1) Lead: “Covert Sleeper, sets up fake appointment — is expected to spend the day as our insider and let people inside the building”; (2) Second: "Takes the place of the lead in case of being discovered”; (3) Hypeman: “leads chants, must maintain energy / presence"; (4) Recruiter: “in charge of getting patriots for starting point for each building, share the ‘patriot plan’ document, spread the word"; and (5) Patriots: “Maintain a presence while handing out ‘patriot plan.’”

The document calls for “leads and seconds” to scope out entrances and exits on Jan. 6, encouraging "patriots" to use Covid-19 protocols to their advantage.
"Pack huge face masks & face shields, protect your identity," it reads. "If possible, be in building first thing in the morning. Be dressed in suits and unsuspecting, do not look tactical at all."
When it's time for "patriots" to storm the buildings, individuals might have to cause "trouble near the front doors to distract guards," the plan states. "The goal is to ensure there is an entry point for the masses to rush the building."
It demands a new election — "not a recount" — that involves "paper ballots only, no mail in ballots, no absentee ballots," with the National Guard monitoring the process.
The Justice Department has filed criminal charges against at least 825 defendants in connection with the Jan. 6 attack. Hundreds more rioters have been identified by online sleuths. Over 300 people have pleaded guilty on charges ranging from misdemeanor offenses to seditious conspiracy.

Today's hearing was incredible and extremely damning. Anyone who still supports Trump or who is complicit in this should be considered traitorous, IMO. They absolutely planned a coup and simply failed in its execution. How anyone can deny this is beyond me. Old school Republicans need to clean house. The federal judge who testified confirmed what I was warning about these MAGA candidates taking over state positions to steal the 2024 election at any cost. This isn't over by a long shot and we need to weed this cancer out of our political systems ASAP. Crazy all the crap they tried to pull. No wonder they all wanted pardons. I wonder how many secret pardons Trump handed out.
These are Republicans providing the evidence, and boy are they providing it. No wonder the J6 committee is holding these hearings. The release of the Mueller report showed what happens when people don't get the facts straight from the witnesses. Well, nobody can deny these facts unless they just don't give a damn about our democracy. The republicans in this country have some serious soul searching to do, and the rest of us need to watch carefully and make sure they are doing it. This is the single worst attack on America in our history, period. And a third to half of the country has partisan blinders on and can't see past Trumpian lies to see the truth.

When you watch what the Judge closes with, you will be leary of ANY MAGA candidate in ANY position. Local, State, and Federal levels are all at risk and ongoing targets to steal power. It's vile and anyone can see it if they just open their eyes.
Also, the DOJ has an informant saying the Proud Boys planned to or would have killed politicians including Pelosi and Pence that day, had they found them. AOC and Schumer were also targeted.
He knew that the plan to have Pence stop the electoral process was illegal.
He knew precisely what he was asking for in Georgia was illegal.
He wanted to stay in power and he did not care what the cost was to the country or democracy.
Yet here we are with people supporting his actions. They don't care as well. They will parade around with flags and pretend they are patriotic. They are complacent and share his guilt.
And there is the real danger. Power corrupts absolutely and there will be sheep who follow.
I'm amazed by what Pence did. He was subservient to Trump for four years, but in the final days of Trump's presidency, HE MAY HAVE SAVED OUR DEMOCRACY. I never thought I would type those words.
