It must be terrifying that the truth is coming out with tons of info to back it up with data and screenshots of emails/chat conversations etc that the dems/fbi/dhi and Twitter along with others were colluding to falsely manipulate Americans and interfere with the election.

What should be front page news about this twitter dump is only covered on a small group of news outlets. In the world of CNN, NBC, and ABC, this never happened.

What we do get is a steady stream of 'Musk Evil' and 'Musk Bad' from a group of media outlets that serve no other purpose today other than to sow political discord.
Musk is Snowball from Animal Farm - a man who has actually accomplished things that are benefiting the little guys. The Media is Napoleon, slowly but continuously painting Snowball as the villain, turning the very animals he fought for, against him.

And what we get from the other side is that misinformation and lies that has led to violence should never be silenced and anyone attempting to do so must have nefarious intentions. You are also getting that Musk is some kind of hero for allowing lies and hate to be spread unchecked under the disguise of calling that free speech.

There was nothing rude about the comment you quoted. I find it annoying how easily offended people get over nothing. And yes, conspiracy theorists flock together and in general believe multiple conspiracy theories.

Neither side has an excuse for lying to the public or outright trying to manipulate the information that the public is receiving except in extremely rare circumstances.

I consider trying to kidnap the governor of Michigan, Jan. 6th, the rapid rise of far right violent extremist groups and undermining efforts to combat Covid as extremely rare circumstances. Maybe our idea of what constitutes rare is just different than my own.

There are crazy people and extremists everywhere. The notion that further spreading these messages does not encourage such people I find to be either disingenuous or extremely naive.

Part of the way we think as a society is by having open disagreements, so it is usually in our best interest to have open disagreements, which includes hearing out opinions that we hate.

For me, the rare cases for censorship would be to prevent specific harm, like protecting the identity an undercover officer or preventing the spreading of information about the designs of vulnerable and critical infrastructure. It is almost always a bad idea to censor political information because it just creates mistrust and probably leads to the violence that you are looking to prevent.

When it comes to the Covid stuff, they were wrong a lot. Maybe its not a good idea for a group of 20 year olds with liberal arts degrees to think that they are the ones to be censoring scientists and medical experts. If the moderators are not 99% sure of the facts, they should err on the side of not blocking information. At a certain point the censorship decisions are so embarrassingly incorrect that it becomes a matter of just offering a professionally managed product, which leads me to the next point, which is that people should stop reading/watching media sources that constantly lie to them. That is not what is happening. People are embracing media that lies and misleads them, as long as it does so in a way that promotes the narratives that they like. That is a big problem because none of this is going to get better as long as people do not hold their media accountable and choose to consume media sources that work hard to be accurate and fair.

I think the problem becomes what is media? Is Twitter media? And having disagreements I don't see quite the same as furthering lies about stolen elections which have created actual violence and an attempt to stop our election process. And in this case it's not really a debate or disagreement at all. Over 60 court cases and trump's own hand picked AG made it very clear the election was not "stolen". There are also terms of service agreements that people enter into when using social networks. In many of these cases, such as trump, the terms of service agreement was broken over and over again.

arch in his wisdom didn't include one key factor. If you aren't going to follow the rules of Twitter, don't create a false narrative of why you got kicked off of Twitter. I'm not sure why people think racial hate speech and threats of violence increasing at an alarming rate makes Twitter better.

And quoting Gym Jordan as a source about how well Twitter is "working great" speaks volumes. I guess that must be why Musk started asking for those he laid off to return. Because things are going so well.

Those are the reported people. That in no way means they were even close to all the people. I suppose the fact that he now has had to demand that his remaining employees work much longer hours and even built bedrooms at corporate headquarters means nothing. But that's what happens when you focus on one part of a story in a feeble attempt to discredit the big picture.

Wrong, it was 3700 employees and roughy 200 recalled. But it was a huge layoff. 90% of the India staff wiped out.

It does not include any resignations, so 5200 could include those as well. But the number you are reporting from is an article almost 3 weeks earlier to the one I posted.

Actually Musk told his employees to either commit to long hours or leave and take a months severance pay within 24 hours on Nov. 16th. Many chose to leave at that time and were not a part of any actual layoff. Your source is dated Nov. 21st which was well after that deadline.
