I am just putting this out there.

Odell is a 30 year old free agent coming back from 2 ACL injuries.

We need a receiver. Did Odell burn the bridge? Would Berry even consider Odell?

Obviously we have new quarterback. Odell was popular with players.

I have no idea what his market value is. No idea if he is healthy? If he is he will play somewhere.

Is Odell a sideshow attraction? Or, could he really help?

I honestly do not have answers.

Odell was being courted by Dallas, the Giants, KC, and Buffalo late in the season. All were teams looking for someone to help put them over the top in the playoff race. Dallas was about to sign him, but then he took a physical. Obviously, he was not healthy.

When healthy, he is still a dynamic WR and he proved that once again in LA last year. He made huge catch after huge catch during the Rams' Super Bowl run and most people said he was on his way to winning the Super Bowl MVP before he blew the knee out.

Many fans and media types don't like him, but he's been well-liked by teammates in NY, Cleveland, and LA. It would be hilarious to see heads explodes from a certain segment of our population.........but, I don't see it happening.

The real question from the Browns is how did he really leave KS and AB?

I wonder if KS or AB would consider him? He is not going to get big money nor a long term deal.

I'd answer, but that question will just lead to another huge fight and I'm not into dealing w/that group again.

And comments like this aren't designed to start a fight?

NO WAY...he burned his bridges to Cleveland and that cannot be undone or forgiven.

I thought Odell was a lock to sign with the Rams...

frank..I agree...blowing out the same knee two years in a row might be a concern of the Rams and should be a concern for any team considering him.

I cannot fathom a world in which Berry and Stefanski are dumb enough to go down that road again.

Also, OBJ does not and never did want to be in a market like Cleveland. Landry made it tolerable for him.

I thought it was the other knee but I do think that have the Rams pause and that trickles out to other teams.

I wonder if there were any personality type things that added to the concern the Rams had. We will never know I suspect.

God. Please. NO.

And NO in so many ways. No, they wouldn't consider him. No, he wouldn't come back to bless us with his presence. No, he wouldn't make a difference; especially in $$ per reception.

Oh, wait. One YES.

Yes, he is a sideshow attraction.

Not even with a restraining order to gag his father? If the quality clubs are taking a pass on him, we should avoid all contact with OBJ. Put him in the same file as Josh Gordon and burn it. Shame for considering him.

Just say no... diva, drama queen,

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

From my understanding and according to Dallas, the only reason he wasn't signed last season was the knee wasn't ready. I think the Browns are in a position where they need a very productive WR on the cheap and short term. OBJ certainly fits that description. He provided proof of that in LA. How things were left between he and the FO, which nobody actually seems to know would be the only factor preventing it IMO.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I will likely be wrong, but I have a feeling that his career is done and he's headed to retirement.

Very productive WR?? He had 27 catches in a half-season.

With his usual low catch rate and his usual low Y/Tgt.

In one half season he complained about drug testing (I'm sure that has nothing to do with snorting coke off a chick's stomach), threw a punch at another player, and then blew out the same knee from two years before. He finished his days with the Rams (probably cemented the outcome) by dissing them in a Tweet and saying they weren't willing to pay him what he's worth -- while he was still injured.

The "high production" doesn't seem to match the headaches. And all of ^ that was while he was still gawking at the limelight during the honeymoon portion of his days in LA... we're talking about a player that notoriously pouts when things aren't going his way.

No thanks a million times over.

Including the playoffs he played in 12 games with 48 receptions for 593 yards and 7 td's. And the 12th game was the SB where he only played a small portion of it while still adding a TD on the scoreboard.

I know there are people on this board who hate players pouting and running their mouths. I understand that. Others think getting a bargain price for a good WR and winning are higher on their priority list. To each their own.

I rolled this out there because I knew what the reaction would be.

Pit makes a good point. He is short term and would be cheap. Odell did have talent. Does he still? I don't know.

Personally I don't think there is a chance for many reasons.

It means that watson needs another legitimate target to help the Browns win. I know it seems as though you wish to try and act like this is something else but it's not. A big bodied WR with a proven ability to catch tough passes and make great plays would certainly help fill a hole the Browns have. Of course the price and terms would be very critical in whether the Browns sign him but price doesn't seem to be that much of an issue for them these days.

It's no different than saying that signing better DT's means those who support it care about winning.

Signing watson doesn't "mean we will win". It means the odds are much, much better.

But you go ahead and do you.

A big bodied WR??

He'd be the smallest WR on the team lol.

Next he'll be "durable".

I probably don't "prioritize winning" the way you do. thumbsup

I think he would want to play with what he feels is a QB with the ability to maximize his numbers and skill set. He very well may think Watson fits the situation he's looking for.

And there's a reason why you think that.

He has also said he wants to play with an elite offense and with a team that is a Super Bowl contender.

We would have to pass his criteria first. Although I'm sure Stefanski and Berry will beg and beg, and urge to let "bygones be bygones", there's no way he's coming to Cleveland anyway.

Really the whole conversation is futile.

I agree.

But, as others have said, I can't imagine a lucrative 1-yr thing as a 2nd or 3rd WR playing in half the snaps would keep him away from a playoff-caliber team. More power to him, as long it's not with us.

As an aside - I wonder what "retirement" really means in the big scope of things to ultra-talented NFL athletes (especially WRs it seems) with tendencies of over-the-top narcissism issues and money for 5 lifetimes. A broadcaster? Living quietly in seclusion somewhere? A social media star? Showing up every now and then for photo ops and hinting at a return? Advertisements modeling clothes, his own cologne? I don't know.

And there's nothing wrong with any of those things.

What I do know is that we will be hearing about him in one circumstance or the other for quite awhile.

I'd hole up in Ibiza somewhere, have a kid or two (teach them how to swim in the ocean), eat good food, listen to good music and watch good movies with my wife in our home theatre. Maybe get fat and turn off all the phones.

A lot of that may very well hinge on whether the actual rift here was between He and Baker or He and the FO. If the FO is more concerned about some off hand comments from the past than getting a good WR then they're a little on the sensitive side. As far as begging and begging. Where did that come from? This would be conducting business not some melodrama.

The "begging and beggin" was just some artistic liberty in painting the picture that we actually want him here. We don't.

And it's not just some offhand comment. It's the entire sideshow that has followed him his entire career. Fighting with kicking nets, apologizing and asking the kicking net to marry him. Taking teammates on vacation during a playoff week. Acting like a dog urinating on the field -- and blaming Trump lol. The cocaine pic was a bad look.

With the Browns: Fighting with Kitchens on the sidelines, pouting on the sidelines and quitting the game. The wardrobe b.s.; first disciplined for wearing a watch... then pushing the envelope week after week with other uniform violations. Fights on the field. Handing out cash to LSU players after the NC... then smacking a cop on the ass in the locker room and being charged with battery.

It's never-ending. He wants the spotlight firmly on him -- and pouts when it's not. I'll pass, we'll pass, this thread is a basic waste of time.

I think you need to qualify who "we" are. I know you'll pass, but I have no idea who this mysterious "we" is. You raised points that neither addressed any real legal or moral issues that hold any gravity. OBJ didn't abandon his entire team for a full season. It's funny how things work around here.

"We" meaning the Browns. His non-stop drama holds no gravity with you -- that's fine.

Now we gotta play whatabouts??

Denial regardless of how much air play some give it. I understand how pointing out a double standard would be seen in a negative light by some.

We’re going to need a fast durable WR or two that demands double coverage. Odell ain’t it.

Odell wasn't a fast, durable WR that demands double coverage when we traded for him. Emphasis on durable.

Hell to the No. I want Watson focused on the defense and the game in general - not having to tell his has been prima dona where to line up only to run the wrong routes.

Agreed. 2 ACL tears to the same knee for a position of WR is damning, not only physically but psychologically. IMO, he will be an OK receiver but nowhere near what he was.
