Belle, our 14yo Border Collie. The most intelligent dog one could hope for. It really seemed that her only purpose in life was to please us. She was so good, I honestly can't remember ever getting angry with her. She was so easy to train. It was painfully sad to see her body increasingly not respond in the way she wanted it to these past few months.. What made the decision really difficult was that her cognitive functioning, hearing and eyesight were all intact....and it really seemed that she wanted to say something to us this morning. She truly was a great friend and family member. We've lost other dogs, but this one really hurt.
And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.

Sorry. It never ceases to amaze me how MOST pets are loved and cherished, and their death/loss feels similar to losing a human.

Damn bro. I'm so sorry to hear this. Gabby is the only dog I've had since I was a child. She's 11. I can't even imagine the day, I get choked up just thinking about it.
RIP Belle Belle. Mom and Dad loved you... unconditionally. Now it's your turn to watch over them.

I am so sorry to hear this. It is amazing how these little creatures manage to just love us so much, and how we love them in return. A fact of having a dog is that we are often going to outlive them. It's painful, but their love throughout the years that we share together makes it worthwhile. Painful as it is to lose a dog, I don't know one person who would give up the love of, and for, their our legged friend.

Losing a cherished pet is one of hardest things.
It is up to you to make that decision and then implement it.
I have owned a dog for most of my life. But putting the last one down was the end. I decided not own another.
There are times I think about it but I have finally accepted it.
I know it hurts and I am sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I know first hand exactly exactly how hard that can be. In time the wonderful memories of her life will outweigh the grief. Hopefully for you and your family that time will come sooner rather than later.

Very sorry to hear.
We've had to "put down" 3 over the years(all miniature schnauzers) .
It's never easy as they truly are family. Maxwell(Max) is most probably our last and is "getting on" in years.
Let this sink in..... On 12-31-23 it be will 123123.
On the flip side, you can tune a piano but you can't tune-a-fish.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I've been surrounded by cats since I was an infant.
One of the things I've found most amazing and mysterious about them is that they seem to intuitively know when you're not feeling too well in the body or mind. They come to you, stick close and monitor things until the affliction has subsided. I think the same is true of dogs as well.
I sincerely believe that when we pass on, we'll see them again.

I lost my dog, Roxie- German Shepard, at the age of 12. She couldn't control her body functions anymore and we decided to put her down because we didn't want to be mad at her. She was the best dog ever.....hurts my heart to this day AND I've never had another dog or pet- hurts the heart to much. I hope to see her in heaven. Peace.

It is really amazing the relationship the can develop between humans and our pets.
Different than human to human but just as deep.

Those who have never had a pet like your Belle can never know how deep the connection goes, nor can they know how deep the hurt is when they leave us.
