As an abundance of caution, WNBC.com is no longer posting the list as we work to make sure each and every name that were originally posted on our Web site will be the ones Mitchell will be name later today. Yet another source suggests WNBC.com was given a draft copy by our two original sources, not the final copy being released today.
b.s.
At this stage of something this big, there are no draft revisions... if anything is being toted around, it is a final version. I would very interested to know which names were on the "draft" revision that don't show up on the "final" revision..... and why.

Clemens won't be alone. It will be full of yankees. Current and past yankees.
Are you saying the only reason for that will be is that Mitchell's associated with the Red Sox? Nice to have an excuse handy in advance.
An excuse?? Excuse for what? An excuse for MLB....Like I care aobut them? For the Yankees?? Look over 75% fo these guys juiced at one time or another. I think it is enexcusable for MLB to let it go this long. Then to get some guy (From one of the teams in the league) to come in and do an investigation....It's all a load. IMO It's just as tainted as everybody claims these records are.
What these people tell us is only what they want us to know...Remember that.

Prp..
Honestly, I did waffle bout posting that because I would say it falls under the auspices of rumormongering.. however, the story does not name the players rather it discusses the "arrival" of the story. This will all be moot shortly tho.. my cell says it's 2:03pm..

Remember
Sen. Mitchell was also the one who leaked Paul Byrd's name on game 7 of the ALCS...I would expect to see ZERO Red Sox names on the list.
I think some of the tin foil from your hat fell off.
Perhaps...we shall see if i'm right or not
Edit: And I can see i'm already wrong...there is a chapter in the report that said roid were found in a Red Sox player's car...so i'm wrong

I thought you were making an excuse for Yankees names appearing on the list. I didn't think you'd (or anyone) actually believe Senator Mitchell would not include Red Sox names just because he's associated with the club.
I agree that we'll get as much info as they want us to have and that someone not related to any team should have lead the investigation. Oh well, Selig muffs another one...

Can't wait to see the public reaction to this. Is Clemens going to get the same treatment Bonds has? My guess is no.

It looks like he got these names mostly from 3 or 4 "distributors" who have been busted. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg of who's actually using.

Mo Vaughn and Eric Gagne were on the list, there's 2 Red Sox.
Sheffield is listed and so is Tejada, and Matt Williams, but other then those no one else had star power.

Exactly. All those names are just from the few guys Mitchell was able to get information from, because no one else would co-operate. What happens now that this report is released and the problem is officially exposed? Maybe more people are either sought out or are willing to provide information...
Unless baseball somehow tries to put a lid on all the steroid talk now that a handful of players have been exposed, I have a feeling this is just going to start the ball rolling downhill.

I always knew Clemens was a roider. People told me I was crazy and had an bias toward him (since I'm a Indians fan). Whooohooooo! Roider!!!! And I know Manny was a roider too......even though his name may not be on this list. Overall, big, big, big, big, big, big day in baseball history!

You would be right. Clements doesn't have the problems with the media that Bonds has. Bonds gets what he gets because he has made enemies of those that write the stories for the fans. They are biased, and that shows in their writings.
Also, Bonds has been reported to have lied to a grand jury, Which makes his story bigger than that of a star athlete using roids. I am waiting to see how the press treats Clements. IMO they should go after him hard. He is an icon in the sport and should be dirtied up as much as the others.
Also, No McGuire on the list? They should vote him into the Hall of Fame now.

j/c.... from NY Times....
Mitchell’s List By The New York Times
Here is a list of most of the names of former and active Major League Baseball players named in the Mitchell Report on performance-enhancing drugs. These names were based on incidents in the past, information from the BALCO investigation and original reporting by the Mitchell investigation including information from Kirk Radomski, a former Mets’ clubhouse attendant who pleaded guilty in April to steroid charges, Brian McNamee, a former trainer for Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte, and from an investigation led by the Albany County district attorney into Signature Pharmacy. As we review the report, names may be added to this list.
Chad Allen Manny Alexander Rick Ankiel Mike Bell David Bell Gary Bennett Jr. Marvin Bernard Larry Bigbie Barry Bonds Kevin Brown Paul Byrd Ken Caminiti Jose Canseco Mark Carreon Jason Christiansen Howie Clark Roger Clemens Jack Cust Brendan Donnelly Lenny Dykstra Bobby Estalella Matt Franco Ryan Franklin Eric Gagne Jason Giambi Jeremi Giambi Jay Gibbons Troy Glaus Jason Grimsley Jason Grimsley Jose Guillen Jerry Hairston Jr. Jerry Hairston Jr. Matt Herges Phil Hiatt Glenallen Hill Darren Holmes Todd Hundley David Justice Chuck Knoblauch Tim Laker Mike Lansing Paul Lo Duca Nook Logan Josias Manzanillo Gary Matthews Jr. Cody McKay Kent Mercker Bart Miadich Hal Morris David Naulty Denny Neagle Jim Parque Andy Pettitte Adam Piatt Todd Pratt Stephen Randolph Adam Riggs Brian Roberts John Rocker F.P. Santangelo Benito Santiago Gary Scheffield Scott Schoeneweis David Segui Mike Stanton Miguel Tejada Ismael Valdez Mo Vaugn Randy Velarde Ron Villone Fernando Vina Rondell White Todd Williams Jeff Williams Matt Williams Steve Woodard Kevin Young Gregg Zaun

Well ESPN has been talking about other names not on the list too. This report wasn't built to detail every player that used steroids in the MLB. Mitchell only had so much time and focus. Some players weren't "in scope" or hid their sources better. Not being on this list doesn't clear your name.

I think Thome used something while with the Indians. Same thing with Manny. What proof do I have? None. I just have a feeling.
