Man, the list of names in this thread.... lots of good folks. We lost a lot of these names to the incessant drama that seems to permeate every busy message board. I still see several of these folks around Facebook, but I think many just reached a point where they were "Browns weary" and devoting so much energy to this team just was just a case of the juice not being worth the squeeze any longer.

Clem; thank you, though I'm not sure I'm deserving of that top spot.

Browns is the Browns

I have felt that way at times purp .. especially the awfulness that was our 2015-2019 years ... we literally had no hope to even compete

At least the past few years I feel like we can win on any given weekend

Here's a name I remember:

RavenKiller

Follow this link to see why.
You'll also see other names that have been absent.
Every single Dawg I've ever known from this and The Original Site loved this kid. We still prop him up, every time CLE plays BAL.

Rave was a good kid.

We have lost lot's of real fans, we just don't know how many.

Does it mean when one stops positing mean they got tired of that board, or did they pass away???

I'm certain that it's a combination of both.

We'll never know which numbers represent which group.

Thanks, Clem! I mentioned him earlier in this thread. He was special, so I have tried to keep his memory among us. Like to thank Purp for the Archive and the link. RIP, RK. Go, Browns!

One other name that I haven't seen in forever was CalDawg. He is responsible for the invention of the laughing Brownie emoji.

Jaft received a lifetime ban.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

His last post. In the gameday thread seconds after the Chubb injury:

I try not to get into any details. Just try to inform people wondering what happened to people in regards to where they went and or why. I won't pass judgement one way or the other but I will say I understand why the decision was made as it was. I'm just glad I'm not in the position to have to make those calls. I've reffed on other boards before and it's not a position I envy people of having. It gave me quite an appreciation of what they actually do.

That must have been a screwed up board if you were a ref....just kidding.

After you mentioned it, I do recall Jaft being banned. I don't know what for and in the end I don't care.

Way back at the very beginning we had a poster with the name of WCD. (West Coast Dawg). It was so long ago we debated about the Browns drafting WR Peter Warrick in the 2000 draft. To make it clear which side I was on I called him "Lil Petey".

I haven’t seen Dave around in quite some time. (That was his user name: Dave)
He was a very calm cool and collected poster. He was/is a police officer, IIRC, or his father was. Good guy.

I think I joined the original DT board back in 2004 specifically to participate in the smack shack. I was going to school at Xavier University in Cincy and I had to smack talk all the fairweather Bengals fans who emerged like cicadas when Marvin Lewis finally brought the team back to 8-8 from years of just straight losing.

Side note: Bengals fans are some of the most fickle and uneducated fans in all of the NFL. I'll go so far as to say it expands to all Cincy sports..... the the absolute worst to be around and suffer through.

Good guy. He liked talking Tribe, too.

I remember Ammo constantly whining and wanting an apology letter from Randy Lerner.

He's around on social media and unsuprisingly, grew up to be a pretty douchey guy.

I remember him. He posted on here when he played football in high school and then when he was going to college. Had some pretty wild party stories IIRC, and by wild, I mean sketch.

There have been times in this board when the actual football and sports forums resembled the political forums, people just relentlessly fighting to fight. I personally can’t stand bickering and petty drama in any area of my life. It seems to me that a lot of the posters peeled off in those years. I know there was at least 4 seasons where whenever I popped my head in people were just going at it and I just bowed out. The team was terrible and there was just no reason to stick around. I only sorta waddled back into the periphery with any regularity when Berry and Staphanski came on board.

I’m surprised so many of you know each other outside of the boards. All but maybe 1 or 2 are completely anonymous to me and I don’t think any more than that know me.

I have tailgated, watched practice with, went to games with, went to dinner or lunch with, drank with, partied with, and even went to funerals of many members on the board.
