I’m noticing on PFT and elsewhere that OLinemen are being signed and/or waived by other teams on the regular but we seem to be doing precious little. I realize there’s no viable starters, or even quality backups, just lying around but unless we want to start lining up TE’s in the tackle positions because we simply run out of actual OLinemen during a game, it seems we need to sifting through what’s out there. We had 3 OL injuries this past Sunday. It’s pretty clear to all with eyes that our OL is at the center of all our current ails. What the hell are we doing about it?

Fair question. We have Zinter, so that’s something.

Dunn is a quality backup.. Zinter can go back to Michigan. I hear chubb due to make his debut next week against cincy.. god I hope he's even 80% of what he was, which is 100% better than any back we have

I'd much prefer Dunn to Zinter

If he is anything other than 100% when they trot him out there in this offense I swear that will be the thing that breaks my fandom.

I don’t think that was what pit was saying. I think he meant 100 per cent ready to go physically.

Maybe an unpopular take but apart from the DW debacle, I’ve like the vast majority of AB’s moves and drafts. Yea, I know that’s kinda “apart from that, how was the play Mrs Lincoln” but it’s true. I also hated the lack of OL action this offseason but I at least understand why that didn’t happen. But I still think in my heart of hearts that Haslam, with Depo in his ear, had more to do with DW than they’re letting on.

This was kind of a Cooper like deal. Hopkins is 32 and was in the last year of his contract with the Titans. They weren't going to re-sign a 33 year old WR and got what they could for him while they could.

if we are being realistic about the direction of our season, this Sunday is a big game. There is a TINY chance to salvage the season if we can beat LA

It would at least set up the games against Pittsburgh as important for us

I think if we bring the word realistic into the conversation it's pretty unrealistic to think Winston can lead this team to the playoffs overcoming a 1-6 start to the season.

Don't get me wrong he is an improvement. However his recent history shows us that he has some pretty bad moments as well. I don't think we can count on opposing D's to drop easy int's the way they did last Sunday. There will be ups and downs watching Winston play. He's certainly the best QB on the roster but with that said it is what it is.

At least now the Browns have a chance to win they enter into a game. That's more than we had before.

That about sums it up. We will be good enough to ensure we don't have a good spot in the Draft for getting a new QB, and we will still definitely need a new QB next year because for whatever Winston is, I doubt he is the long-term answer here.

Agreed. We'll probably win enough games to put us out of position for one of the top QB's. I hope we don't reach for one that is not our 1st choice. I want us to try and win as many games as possible but the playoffs don't seem realistic at this time. BPA seems realistic now especially if it's a LT.

Maybe this is all a good sign of a larger positive coming?

I mean, COVID hit and next thing you know the world was crazy and the Browns were winning and going to the playoffs.
Well, now the Browns are back to the pre-COVID norm, so maybe the rest of the world is about to follow suit?

We really need them in that one game at a time mode. I want to see what we have at QB on the roster. If TB wins a bunch, good. If either of the other two play and win games, good. But if we finish like 4 and 13, they’ll lose the locker room, IMO. So for me, wins that hurt our draft position are better than tanking, just so the team keeps its confidence. Even if we only have a sliver of a shot and will need the help of the football godz to make the post season.

Secondly, I’d like to see them finish the season strong and dominating. I think we really need that to build off of next year.

I didn't see it anywhere else, but Denzel Ward is officially in Concussion Protocol with his 6th. He may have to hang it up or he is going to have Jell-O for brains by the time he's 35.

Quincy talked about it. He think’s the concussion doc’s for the team know things we don’t about the degree of risk, where he’s at, etc., else we would see him hang it up.

I believe the same thing holds true for Tagovailoa. If this doesn't make it more obvious to people that this fake "The NFL cares about head injuries" crap is just that, crap, I don't think anything can convince people. They control who plays and who doesn't. Until they don't when it matters the most.

Don't forget, we have 1st round draft picks again! We can use 3-4 years worth to move up or trade for another bust of a qb.

yeah it will be nice to have our 1st round pick. I feel like our depth has been affected a bit without the usual allotment the last few years

Browns' Jameis Winston named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Jameis Winston has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, the NFL announced Wednesday, becoming the first Cleveland Browns quarterback to win the award in four years.

Winston, making his first start since Sept. 25, 2022, passed for 334 yards and three touchdowns in the Browns' 29-24 upset victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Winston set a franchise record for passing yards in a Browns starting debut and tossed the go-ahead touchdown with 59 seconds remaining.

It marks Winston's first Player of the Week award since Week 4 of the 2019 season, when he was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He becomes the first Browns quarterback to be named Player of the Week since Baker Mayfield in Week 7 of the 2020 season.

Winston stepped in as starter for the injured Deshaun Watson, who suffered a season-ending right Achilles tear in Week 7.

Coach Kevin Stefanski said Winston will continue to start for the Browns (2-6), who host the Los Angeles Chargers (4-3) on Sunday.

In the excitement about having a competent QB, we forget that the D kept Henry under 80 yards, didn’t allow Jackson to go off.

Our run D was very good, the interior played tough. Anyone follow Hall, Jr?
