How does RTO (or anything DOGE is doing) meaningfully push towards getting this done? DL05, in particular, has shown that their plan of attack will not accomplish their stated goal simply because the portion of govt spend that they are going after isn't going to move the needle.

They are going to have to go after aspects of things like defense spending, and they've shown absolutely zero interest in doing that. Surely, someone with Musk's alleged intelligence and acumen realizes their plan isn't going to accomplish the stated goals... right?


So that's a lot of words to say, do YOU actually think what they're doing is going to help? Seriously... I want to know if you honestly think what they're doing is going to be a positive (and if so, why). This approach loosely mirrors what Musk has done so far with Twitter, and that company is well on its way to being run into the ground.

There are so many other simple solutions, too. Again, just coming out with a mandate, or hell - even an EO - that says "All major legacy production programs are required to use an FPIF contract type vs FFP" would do wonders in terms of putting money back in the treasury. Far more than what DOGE has done to date. It would ding any exorbitant margins that contractors are making off the government, though. It doesn't seem that anyone leading this initiative wants to stop that, though.

Can you give any possible explanation for why that matters? We all know that it's Republicans that rail against EV's. We all know it's Republicans that want to end subsidies for EV's. We all know it's Republicans on social media that mock EV's. The vast majority of his consumer base are liberals.

Elon Musk’s support of right-wing parties ‘is really disgusting,’ German Chancellor tells CNN

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz took an opportunity on the campaign trail Tuesday to criticize Elon Musk, telling CNN that the US billionaire “is intervening in favor of right-wing politicians all over Europe. And this is really disgusting”.

Ahead of Germany’s February election, Musk has been controversially inserting himself into the German election campaign in favor of the far-right party, the Alternative for Germany (AfD).

Speaking to CNN, as he came off stage after an hour’s talk with voters in Berlin, the Chancellor said, “I disagree completely with Elon Musk and what he is doing.” He explained as a political leader he is no stranger to media owners intervening “in politics in Germany, they started in 19th century… that’s not new.”

He added: “What is new is that he is intervening in favor of right-wing politicians all over Europe. And this is really disgusting, and it is not good for the democratic development in all (of) the European Union.”

In early January, Musk held a conversation with the leader of the AfD, Alice Weidel, on X. He has also regularly tweeted his support for the party, calling Scholz “an incompetent fool” on his social media platform.

On Saturday, Musk appeared virtually at an AfD campaign rally in the city of Halle. But it is what Musk said about the German need to move on from its historic guilt over the Holocaust that has particularly irked the Chancellor.

In the week that the world, and Germany, commemorated the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, Musk told the crowd there is “frankly, too much of a focus on past guilt, and we need to move beyond that.”

The Chancellor, in an unusual burst of emotion, told CNN: “This is why I’m so angry about Elon Musk intervening for the far right and Elon Musk also not acting adequately to this killing of so many Jews… this is the historic responsibility we will continue to take in the future as well.”

CNN has contacted Musk’s lawyers for comment.

It couldn't possibly have to do with the fact that you don't pay utility bills, property taxes, workers compensation, match social security paments and have virtually zero overhead with a taco truck. Plus there's the franchise cost and being contracted into buying all of your products and ingredients from the parent company in a fast food environment.

Breads most expensive ingredient is energy. With that in mind, I’d guess corporate greed. I’ve been shopping at the commissary on WPAFB about a year and a half now. Things like yogurt, ice cream, meat, and several others are consistently less expensive. Brand name ice cream averages $1.75 cheaper than all grocery stores near me. I haven’t paid over 3.90 a pound for 80/20 hamburger for that entire time. And it’s normally closer to $3. My wife likes those greek yogurts that come in 4 packs. 3.29 a four pack on base, $3.99-4.99 off base. It’s price gouging.

And btw, freshest meat you can get. If I let Kroger meat set in the fridge a few days before freezing, it’s sus. I could wait almost 10 days and did one time for meat from base, and it was still fresher looking and feeling that some meat I just brought home from Kroger. It sat that long because I tore my quad, and the wife forgot about it.

There are zero details on the functions of any of those programs.

I'd be curious to know how they are terminating these contracts. That can only be done by a warranted contracting officer. I guess it could be done by EO, but that would be breaking new ground AFAIK.
