Curious where Jack Sawyer is going to go today. I always liked his motor.
Looking to see if we add some OL depth. I'd say WR too but don't know of any good ones.
Also curious if my fellow Bearcat, RB Corey Kiner, goes today. I'd like to add Skattebo but don't think he'll be there at our pick. We could always trade up, I suppose.

D'onte Thornton and Brashard Smith are some dart throws I'd like to try to inject some more explosiveness into the offense.

Being biased here, but I would love to see us pick TE Luke Lachey from Iowa with our 6th rnd pick, he's my cousin (former NFL player) Jim Lachey's boy.

We need some playmakers IMO for offense. Flacco can spin the ball well enough to spread it around. But our offense needs help.

Think Wright and McGuire can kick inside, too. Also have the CFL guy (Holley?). There's not a ball of clay OL that grabs me this year (still on the board.) I'd just as soon keep working with last year's developmental guys. Cohen/Lorenzo. Added FAs in Jenkins and Lucas. Safeties in this class also don't do much for me. I wonder if Needham (recent-ish FA signing) slots at safety for us. Wouldn't hate Malachi Moore, but not really the backend eraser I'm looking for. I'm looking at WR and RB, too. Think we could use a real burner with a bit of size at WR. Think we could use a move around RB that can create in space. Looking for specific/individual complementary traits at this point.

After thinking things over
The Wr I want is Restrepo Saw him and he was uncoverable
I love Scattebo Culture changer But also bring in 1-2 UDFA Rb's
Round 7 I would take a chance on Deone Walker He is a 1st round talent in my mind Most thought high round 2 But has dropped 2' concerns about his back As a round 7 lottery pick? Count me in
Top UDFA Mitch Richmond I like him as a round 6 guy but the more I see, he likely goes undrafted As a run blocker he seems like a shield the defenser guy But as a pass protector, he doesn't get beat

I'd love to see the Browns take either Jalen Royals or Elic Ayamanor at the WR position.
I'd also like to see them take another RB, preferably Jordan James or Dylan Sampson. Lots of good RBs left.
Some options at OG that I like are Miles Frazier and Marcus Mbow. At OT Chase Lundt is an intriguing option.
Jah Joyner is a DE that I like. Deon Walker is a DT with freakish size.
I'm convinced Sean McVay is going to draft Xavier Restrepo in the 6th round and he'll catch 85+ balls per year.

I know this isn't going to be popular, but free agency hasn't been kind to some former Browns. Once the draft is over we could bring back some players familiar to the offense to hold us over until we can get some more players next year...
WR Elijah Moore, played pretty well with Flacco two years ago OT Jedrick Wills, we know he isn't elite at this point, but he will also be the best option we currently have for 2025 RB Nick Chubb
If we fail to get a second RB, Chubb should be one of the first calls on Sunday. I don't think any other teams are going to give him a starters contract, which is what I think his agent was asking for. A $3M, incentives to get him to a max $7M should get him back in the building.
Wills should be even cheaper than that
I don't know what Moore is thinking at this point, but not everyone is going to come away from the draft with a WR, the way they will RBs.

I thought Sanders was overrated and didn't like the idea of the toxic environment that may come along with the pick but there was simply no call for that. I certainly don't wish he or his family any ill will.

I'm surprised that Deone Walker is still on the board myself. Which gives me pause to think that NFL FO's may know much more than we do about his back issues. From a March 12 article - only pasting the pertinent part: Kentucky's monstrous defensive tackle, Deone Walker, was one of the most impactful players in the country in 2023. However, the 6-foot-6, 345-pound junior struggled to repeat his performance in 2024, and he saw his NFL Draft stock plummet. This week, Walker revealed he was dealing with a fracture in his back this past season. Yes, he had a broken back, and was not always featured on the injury report. 0:07 / 5:00 Texas Football Might Do Something VERY Different This Spring...Texas Football Might Do Something VERY Different This Spring... “It was a pars defect,” Walker said. “That’s big terminology for me. I don’t know what that means, but it healed itself up. Now, I only gotta do PT to keep it right.” Evaluators were wondering what was going on with Walker this past year. His shocking blend of power and speed for his size was zapped, and his leverage was even worse than before. He went from a top 10 projection to late Day 2 range. https://atozsports.com/college-foot...op-3-time-all-sec-defender-deone-walker/

Later Rb's to consider
LaQuint Allen Syracuse - former Wr Would be a great 3rd down back
Kalel Mullings Michigan Former Lb - runs the ball like one
Damien Martenez Miami Runs like you would expect a Damien to run
Raheim Sanders South Carolina Run like he is a torpedo
Multiple others I would wait a round or 2 but I would definitely grab a 2nd Rb

Top remaining Wr - per NFL.com and their scouting report
Jalen Royals
Overview Skilled and instinctive, Royals might lack the desired explosiveness, but he makes up for it with his body control and feel for the game. He has good size and is keenly aware of defenders around him, which allows him to adjust routes and improve his chances on contested catches. He’s a decent route-runner but doesn’t have the short-area foot quickness and burst to open wide windows for his quarterback. He’s excellent as a zone-beater and uses plus body control and play strength to bring in catches in traffic. Royals is a smooth athlete who can play inside or outside and is best suited for an offense that will value him as a possession target over the first two levels.
Strengths Keenly aware of where defenders are positioned. Smooth insertion of wrinkles and leverage into his routes. Fights hard for his catch space on contested throws. Works aggressively back to the throw. Impressive body control and coordination to get catch-ready. Gets into run mode before the ball touches his hands underneath. Can be hard to bring down by first tackler in the open field.
Weaknesses Just two seasons as a full-time player and producer in college. Lacks desired suddenness to shake an NFL press. Early vertical push fails to concern defenders. Shows slight rounding of the break at the top of the route. Average foot quickness and burst to separate.

My plan is to go with what NFL FO's are actually doing rather then press releases and articles. My main reason for doing so is I can't think of a single player coming out in the draft who wouldn't put the most positive spin as possible on an injury. I place my belief on motive. A player has every possible motive to put the best spin on it as possible. NFL FO's only do research and make their draft picks on what they feel is in the best interest of their team. It's just hard for me to believe that he is still sitting on the board going into round 4 if the injury checked out okay. But hey, that's just my opinion and an explanation of why I believe that.

Great moment for Barryn Sorrell. Waiting in the Green Room through day three and getting a hero's welcome from the Green Bay fans when drafted. Awesome seeing him walk out in the crowd for the love and admiration.

Dylan Sampson is a good back. He is explosive and can hit home runs out of the back field or in the passing game. Good pick. The Browns are going to get back into running the football. I think they need an Olineman and a blocking tight end to finish this draft off.

Well, the lady wore a Chubb jersey to announce the end of Nick Chubb in Cleveland. Yep. That sucks. It's hard to get past the "business" sometimes. Probably the only other jersey I'll always wear with equal pride is my Kevin Mack original.

Dylan Sampson is a good back. He is explosive and can hit home runs out of the back field or in the passing game. Good pick. The Browns are going to get back into running the football. I think they need an Olineman and a blocking tight end to finish this draft off. Best blocking TE in the draft is still available CJ Dippre Alabama Luke Lachey Iowa also still available Oline and Wr would be nice as well We have needed a ball hawking safety for a decade Several were available in this draft though most have been taken already

Sampson was an excellent pick. I always felt we need to draft 2 backs in this deep class.
He had a late season injury that led to a drop. He has 2nd round talent.
Judkins and Sampson, our Thunder and Lightning.
As for Nick, I don't think this precludes him being signed back. At this point it would be a more symbolic signing than anything, but teams carry 4 backs, so would he want to carry Chubb over Strong?
For me, I say Strong. I think Nick has given enough and about all he can give. He is already on his way to knee replacement in his 40's and walking with a cane by the time he hits his late 50's. Thats what his future is today. I won't be alive for any of that but sure wouldn't want to see him in a wheelchair in his early 70's.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

Something that really has nothing to do with the ability of the players we drafted, but I noticed when we drafted Dylan Sampson, he was pick 126. Using simple math, it occurred to me that pick 126 when Jim Brown was drafted was the 10th round. Makes you wonder how many good players never got a chance back then.

... and that's it for the Browns 2025 draft. Like some picks, but don't like either QB we took.

So with the trade up here in the 5th rnd to pick Sanders it looks like we are now done in this draft.

The draft is over for the Browns and as much as I like most of the picks, not a single OL person selected and no WR. With LT still being a huge question mark and the other 4 north of 30 and in the final year of their contracts, not addressing any portion of the line seems like a huge fail to me. I particularly don't care how good the Browns skill players are, if you don't have a good line they will struggle especially any young QB. As many pundits claim, a team should draft a QB every year. I firmly believe you should be adding at least 2 OL persons every year also. If you can't open holes and pass protect, it doesn't matter who your QB is or skill players. Last year should have been a warning and it was clearly ignored by the Browns.

I think it's pretty obvious to most that you aren't going to make up for losing 3 1st round draft picks and more in a single draft. It's also obvious that once you get to the later rounds of the draft most players selected are fliers and projects you simply see some potential at developing. The fact they couldn't address everything in a single draft doesn't mean they "ignored" anything. It means that to address the needs will take at least this year and next years draft. But this is the spin i expected from you. Flo should be along shortly to share your view.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I don’t like seeing Sawyer and Howard get taken by the Steelers.

Have a feeling this isn't going to end for someone. Pretty dumb to post this and show your face wearing an Ole Miss shirt. Be curious if they find out who gave them the number.
