I am not saying the guy can't be the "guy". I just think it a bit premature.

Kelly Holcomb, Charlie Frye, Brady Quinn, Colt McCoy, Johnny Football, DTR.... do we count Cody Kessler & RG3?
I mean, the number of times there has been Late Spring Overreactions toward Browns QB's is just absolutely mind boggling, yet it still continues to happen.

But has the earth moved while watching any of them throw yet?

What I noticed about Sanders, is the ball comes out low. I see many batted passes in his future

I didn’t think Sanders could be the guy when he was a projected first rounder. At this point I’m just trying to figure out if he’s good enough to beat out Pickett or Gabriel for a roster spot.

At the end of the day, I think this front office is trying to win as many games as possible and will want Picketts experience over taking the time to develop TWO rookies. So, I really think the is a Flacco starter, Pickett back up and the only real competition is who to keep as the 3rd string development. It’s Sanders v Gabriel.

Not sure Sanders is even decent trade bait after so many passovers in the draft. Finding a partner to move him might be a challenge. However, we don't need to get too much for him to make it a plus for us. Using him as part of a swap deal for a position we need more provokes some thought about options. Trading dad as well, I suspect.

This makes me think that part of the plan may be to simply build up and show off Sanders and turn our 5th into like a 3rd or 2nd next year. Make him look good enough and some team will bite. Someone has a QB go down early every year.

Listening to a few interviews, I think I agree with you, Purp. This "find" could help us if the pick is two or three rounds higher, maybe a working OL utility player. Or swap for a proven "tush push" specialist or a big WR. I want to see him when the NFL bullets are pressuring him. Waiting for reality. We don't need no steenkink controversy in the QB room.

IMO Joe will start. I hope I'm wrong but to me none of the other 3 QB's we have will be anything more than mediocre and backups. Again, I hope I'm wrong and we can develop one.

I think "develop" is they key here. I don't believe either of the two rookies can possibly be ready by the regular season and both will take time to develop if they are ever worthy of being NFL starters. I don't claim to have any idea if either of them can become NFL starters. Only time can answer that question.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
