ITA. I'm just sick of these guys dissing the Wii when they've probably never even played one. I don't care what people play...just enjoy it and let other people enjoy their systems. Easy.

Konami issued a statement in December to address the rumors about Metal Gear to the 360 and said that they had no plans to put the game out for the 360 at that time. But......most likely there is probably some agreement that they won't port it for three months or so after the release on the PS3. Usually rumors like this start because an exec tells somebody by accident before they were supposed to. The same thing happened with Assassin which was said to be a PS3 exclusive but is now announced for the 360. It is dumb for a developer to only market their game to one console if they don't have to. And, given the costs of developing Metal Gear and the limited number of PS3's out there to play the game they would be even dumber not to bring it to the 360. jmo

DawgMichelle, this thread was titled comparing the three systems and thats what people are doing. No one here is knocking you for enjoying the wii, but comparing it to the 360 and PS3 is crazy. It has interesting controllers, but nothing more IMO.

Yes and no. It's a different kind of system, for sure, but wouldn't it be something if that different kind of system which was supposed to be the "2nd system for everyone" ended up running away as the industry leader?

Wii's gonna win in Japan. The Japanese like that crazy stuff (see: Nintendo DS and DDR...it's a way of life in Japan).

In the United States its created a much bigger buzz than any had anticipated.

I'll get a 360 or PS3 down the road (whoever wins the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD war), but for now I honestly can't go back to the old Madden control scheme. The Wii's control scheme is THAT intuitive.

Your right on with Japan liking the control thing. We saw a glimps of intuitive design with guitar hero, Japan has had games for GameCube and Ps2 where you are swinging a Katana sword controller and many other types of motion sensor games for years now. Nintendo saw this and they knew making the Wii controller the way they did would be huge. Congrats for them, just when a lot of people were saying it would only be Xbox and Playstation this time around Nintendo just may vault back to #1.

And that's fine...except when people poopoo one of those systems.

How many games have you played on the Wii?

i haven't played the ps3 yet...

i bought a 360 over the summer, i wanted to wait until the ps3 came out, but i was offered the premium 360 for 250 bucks brand new... i couldn't pass that up... i have the original xbox and ps2, and the xbox blew that system out of the water, so i had faith that even though i hadn't seen the ps3, i still made the right choice...

a lot of people are screaming blu-ray, and while if you buy the ps3, you are actually getting a hell of a deal because a blu ray player alone will cost you close to a grand, the 360 offers (or will offer) hd-dvd capability...

not to mention that i've heard that blu-ray will not be making porn dvds... i'm not saying this because i'm a huge porn fan, but you have to admit that with the billion-dollar business that porn does, the blu-ray people may have shot themselves in the foot... i wouldn't be surprised if blu-ray flames out and hd-dvd becomes the standard...

i can't speak for the ps3, but i have the 360 and i absolutely love it...

the person that said if you want online gaming, buy the 360, you couldn't be any closer to the truth, xbox live is by far the best online community that any console can and will offer... sony will never have an answer to microsoft's xbox live... bill gates has that aspect down pat... and only 50 bucks a year? i'll take that, it's more than fair... 24/7/365, and they are rarely offline, when they shut down xbox live to update and improve, it's usually in the middle of the night, and always up the next morning...

there are so many games on the 360 that are coming out... and halo 3 isn't even here yet...

also, gta4 releases on october, and for the first time, sony won't be exclusive when it's released...

i'm sure a lot of games will be available on both consoles, i know oblivion is being released on ps3, but in my opinion, the exclusives for the xbox 360 will far outweigh those of the ps3...

but again, i have not seen the ps3 played in person... actually most people i've talked to about it, went out and bought one only to sell it for a big profit...

but from articles i've read and people i've talked to (that have played both) say the 360 is still the better system, and it's cheaper...

what sucks is that games are 60 dollars, that totally blows...

i could see some games being priced at 60, games that will have a great shelf life, like halo 3, like gears of war

but sports games at 60 bucks? that's completely unfair...

Not poopoo the system; just providing facts. The wii is fun; no doubt about it, but it is a less powerful system then the 360 and PS3 and in my opinion I would buy the 360 over it.


I played the sports games for a while; it was fun but not that great IMO.

If anyones wondering, im selling my Wii on ebay, the system hasn't been used in like 2 weeks, its a waste for me to have......i dunno if i am even gonna buy another system for a while........i got to save up for college.. LOL

i love my 360 more and more everyday, so much i convinced 3 people to get one and they all love it too. it can do more than any of the other systems and it can really be the center of your entertainment. cant wait for the new dvr updates for the dashboard.

Thanks! I can't believe I didn't know this was here. That BrownsChat was painful, I think I went on their 5 times since it switched over.

I have a ps3 and I must say it is one polished machine. So far there's been no bugs or overheating, everything is working great.

And yes, it is worth the price. It just comes down to what games the buyer likes. If you like Halo, etc.... the 360. If you like FF, MGS, GT, you go with Ps3.

when you say GT are you talking grand turismo or grand theft....cause if you are talking grand turismo then i would say the wii....

i've got it and it came with a steering wheel that you snap the controller into....works sweet.....

I have a PS3 and I love it. Just started playing some RFOM online. What a blast. I'm used to Socom on PS2, and Resistance is completely different, but intense. And unlike playing Socom, I don't get booted, people don't hold the rooms up, games start quickly and there aren't any bugs at all that I've seen. I also have NBA 2K7 which is fun. Looking forward to getting Motorstorm in early March. The demo is sweet.

GT Pro Series != Gran Turismo. Not even the same developer.

oh....didn't know that....i played grand turismo a long time ago on the playstation...and this is extremely similar with the same set up.....win races...upgrade your cars....get licenses...its identical from what i remember....

i would like wii always have had a nintendo system every one since super nintendo i would get zelda (love the series ) and other games for it i love the idea of it.

xbox 360 continuously amazes me with the games that comes out on it id get gears of war probaly with oblivian like those shooting games and if grandtheft auto goes on it again which im sure id get it...

so what do you think?

the wii is really cool...and zelda is pretty good....i'm hardly into it and i've played alot of hours...

the controls are cool, and they will be what makes or breaks the system imo...in-other-words....how well will the software companies use the controllers....

in zelda (which i guess was originally made for the cube) the controls are neat, but i think if it would have been made for the wii originally they could come up better controls..for example there a few moves to swing the sword...the sword doesn't move with the controller....i saw a video of red steel, and it looked like it did...

aiming is sweet...just point and shoot....kinda like a mouse....

if you play a game like trauma center then you realize that the controller while like a mouse is alot harder to keep steady...

GT pro is cool too as it uses that steering wheel...just makes it pretty neat...i passed all my beginner and most of my intermediate licenses on the first try...its just that easy to steer....

call of duty is neat too....aiming was harder than i thought (alot of spray and pray) but i got the hang of it pretty quick....i think it was more me than anything....


the controls are neat...the sports games are cool that come with it..

the graphics aren't anything like the ps3 or xbox but they are plenty good enough....


i don't own an xbox 360 but i've seen my cousins...the graphics are great...and from what i've read they are the hands down winner for online gaming...

Not sure if I responded to you about COD before or not.. I found turning down the sensitivity in the option in COD3 made it much easier to aim. Damn shaky hands <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I can only speak on behalf of the 360 since that's what I got for Xmas, but I have to say that it is awesome. I was coming from a GameCube, so this was a huge step up for me.

What sold me on the 360:
