They want to make people think they take poor behavior seriously. Hand out the "big" suspension now. Slip Judkin's minimal punishment under the radar later once actual football is back and fans are busy focusing on their teams. It's likely about PR and their bottom line, competitive fairness be damned.

I try not to get too hyped up about rookies but it's hard not to with this kid.

Both of these rookies, Graham and Schwesinger are why I'm so excited to see this defense play this year. I think they have elevated the defense to another level. This team really missed JOK and I think Carson will get us back to where we were before he was hurt. I don't think we have had as good a D-lineman as Graham in quite awhile, it should make Myles life easier since they won't be able to shift the line to his side quite as much. I think he is going to demand double teams in the middle.
I think it's going to be a fun year... we need it, last year was brutal.

There's a lot to be excited about (or at least interested in seeing) with this team.
Not to be a wet blanket, but even if both of these guys do ball out, they are going to hit the rookie wall shortly after midseason. I'm working hard to keep my expectations in check, but I'm beginning to wonder if we're going to have they type of seasons good teams have right before they're good (very competitive but haven't yet figured how to close out games).
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

This kid really excites me. Can’t wait to see him play. right there with you. Completely different type of player than JOK but the vibe im getting is uber positive. Trying to think of a guy we drafted i was as high on as him rookie season .... Maybe Baker. Maybe Njoku. Hope he pans out better than both ...
The more things change the more they stay the same.

I'm excited for him too. It seems like he has the athleticism, motor, and smarts
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Is the rookie wall still that prevalent? I feel like since the NCAA increased the number of regular season games to 12, now teams are regularly playing 13 with a championship game, those teams given a bowl game makes it 14 and those in the championship series increasing to as many as 16 for the championship teams. That as well as increased training programs at almost all levels of college play have college athletes coming in almost better shape than many veterans. Schwesinger who has always played with a high motor probably won't see it as much as Graham who's energy is spent in spurts. I would have worried more about Judkins if he came in and became a workhorse after spending his last year at tOSU on a RBC system. Regardless, it's going to be exciting for the opening to the season.

You may be right. I always thought it had more to do with their final year through off-season and going into training camp. They (some more than others) are flying around doing interviews and prepping for the underwear olympics and the draft, and then have to flip right around and pack on some more weight (especially the big fellas) for the upcoming season.

JMHO, seems the player won, he got FULLY Guaranteed contract-- I'm against that. He could be as screwed up as DW. Why give money away if he attacks another woman. DUMB.

There is nothing that would indicate "He could be as screwed up as DW" and there's video evidence that he did not attack that woman.................... The assistant state attorney assigned to review the case wrote, “Although the victim had photos showing injuries sustained, there were also videos in that same time frame where no injuries were observed to the victim. Additionally, the victim’s injuries depicted in the photos could be explained by either account of the incident,” the memo said. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/08/14/sport/football-nfl-quinshon-judkins

I think we were dragging our feet waiting to get an idea about the NFL's possible suspension. We'll see

So she fabricated everything trying to get money, why then is the NFL taking so long to finish his case-- the truth is hard to find.

Video proof makes the truth in this case easy to find. I won't speak to her motivation because I have no way of knowing that. She could have just been mad and was being vindictive for all I know. As has been mentioned already, the NFL is a conglomerate entity of 32 corporations. They have a public image to protect. We've seen many times where groups from all sides have boycotted and the press has given a lot of bad coverage based on how a corporation handles many social issues. One such issue, not nearly the least of which is how thy handle the abuse of women.
No corporation wants all of that negative attention. It simply isn't good for business. So no matter how clear cut a case may or may not be, they have to give it the time and consideration people expect. They can't simply rush things to give it the appearance they didn't do their due diligence. That's what's going on here.

Nice of Roger to wait until he is scheduled for his first day of practice to summon him to his office.

Wouldn’t a Zoom hookup work just as well?
Big Swingin’ Roger could have done this two weeks ago.

I have a feeling they told the Browns they were waiting for him to officially be a player in the NFL. They’ve had precedent to do it with rookies pre-contract, but it’s happening pretty fast now that they made it official. Maybe something that was written into the last CBA prevented it??

Am I the only one that remembers that struggles of one Mr. Phil Dawson when he first came to the Browns? I seem to remember him missing a number of kicks and fans being pretty down on him. But they stuck with him and damn if he didn't turn out to be one of the best ever.
I'm not saying this guy will be the next Phil Dawson. But I am saying give him some time to develop. KS sees something in him. For the life of me, I don't know what, but he must.

I remember it that way as well. I would add that a couple years after he got here, his leg strength went from being...meh...to being very good.

Yeah, Dawson wasn't real reliable until like 2003 or so. I do think our stadium has something to do with the struggles at first

Dawson actually went to great lengths talking about getting used to kicking in our wind and stadium. I think he even consulted a sniper at one point and said it was very helpful.
