I agree with Memphis about what he's said about specific responses being disgusting. At the end of the day, at 31 years old he was killed because someone didn't like what he said.

Ultimately, the commentary says more about the people saying those things than the person who was killed. Spewing hate/spite instead of showing a little common decency does not isolate itself to any political party or demographic. I don't say that as a whatabout or anything like that, but moreso just to say that we are all responsible for what we say and do and our humanity isn't tied to political party or anything else other than who we are inside.


I'm curious about how people feel about a couple things he has said in the past that seem especially relevant now... but I'm going to ask that later. It's not my intent, but I know it's going to sound disingenuous/smarmy right now.

Thats not what trump said. So instead of helping and finding common ground to help the country move forward. He choses to blame and fuel the flames of hate. trump said it was the left wing radicals on all political violence recently.

There will be consequences no doubt. The shooter needs caught and executed. Then all Antifa needs to be labeled domestic terrorists and dealt with in severe ways to end their cycle of violence.

Can we move on to the KKK, the Jan. 6th rioters and white supremacist groups from there?

The idiot who shot POTUS helped him win the presidency and I’d bet the idiot who brutally assassinated Charlie Kirk will galvanize more people to take up what his mission was.

We don’t even know who the shooter is yet. If you ask me, I think the adults need to retake the room and shove all of the extremists back into the shadows where they are afraid to even mention anything again. We need to stop demonizing everyone who thinks differently than us, we need to remember how ti act like a country again, and, for the love of God, we need to expel media, whether social or mainstream, that keeps us falling down the slippery slope of dehumanizing other people for crying out loud.

I saw a quote today that said more evil acts are performed by people who think they are doing the right thing than they are the wrong thing. 24 years ago today that happened. It’s because of dehumanization. The more we push other people away, shout over them, refuse to interact with them, reinforce ourselves with echo chamber media propaganda, the more often that ish is going to happen.

I haven’t always been immune to that crap myself. But I think this is a turning point for me. I’m damn tired of it.

I agree whole Heartly. Allowing cities to burn because of extremists in this country needs to stop and we must allow our law enforcement agencies to act without having thier hands tied.

All extremist groups need dealt with severely. Antifa has been the most active lately and probably the most violent and dangerous lately.

I agree with the first part. Much of what happened with the ANTIFA protests was that criminals took advantage of the situation after the protests had already ended. Anyone engaged in such activities be they ANTIFA or not should face the justice system and be punished for their crimes. There's no excuse for it.

How many riots has Antifa been involved in. There were some in June. Quite a few in 2020 and since. They are not peaceful protests as you and others say they are riots and should not be allowed to happen. See what happened on a Cincinnati bridge this summer. The Cincinnati police sat back and watched rioters block traffic on a bridge and cause problems. When they went across the bridge the Kentucky police put a swift end to the riot. That is how it should be handled. Take them to jail.

Back to the topic, there are theories floating around, ranging from tangible to conspiratorial to outright nuts. I won’t float the ones that don’t seem plausible, one that bears some attention:

The old man who was initially thought to be the shooter kept yelling “Shoot me” as he was being detained. There is speculation that this may have been done to by time for the shooter to escape. Again, I don’t know if that’s true. There was a link under the Twitter account “Panda.” For some reason I can’t post it in here, but it may be because I don’t have the app anymore. If someone can find it, please post the video.

I believe this was the suspect who ended up getting the obstruction charges. Again, may just be a crazy old man.

I don’t know-I just think we are a broken country

Yesterday there was another school shooting.

Today, two more schools were on lockdown for about 3-4 hours because of a man with a gun. They had to do a room by room search.
Then, there were up to 8 black colleges that were placed on lockdown today for terroristic threats.
And the DNC got a bomb threat.

And there is now an active shooter was casualties at the Naval Academy

This is sad. First the Attempt on Trump, then the Killing of that Minnesota State Rep and her husband a few months back, then Yesterday a High Profile Political backer of Trump...

I don't like it at all. Not because Charlie Kirk was some kinda sage or anything. I honestly didn't like or believe much of what he said. He was Bigoted, Racist and Damn, he didn't seem to care who knew it. Disgusting really.

But, he was also a Husband and Father.. That is what I really hate. That's what is really sad.

They don't, as of this writing, know who did it. They have a suspect/person of Interest that they released the pics of. But they don't know his motives.. But already, Trump is out there yelling about Liberals being at fault.

That ass hat stirs his people up into a frenzy. So much so that when they detained a few people that they eventually determined weren't really involved, his supporters began harrasing them.

That is SICK...AND THAT'S what Trump does. Stirs the pot.

I just watched the PC by the Governor and others. It had some new video showing the shooter jumping down from the roof. Maybe 12 feet after a hang drop.

My question is where was the rifle? He clearly couldn't have made the drop with it stuffed in to his pants leg. He had a back pack so he could have broken the rifle down but everything I have heard was the rifle was found in the woods, assembled. It makes no difference if assembled or one found in parts.

I suppose the kid could have taken the time to reassemble, but why would he do that? Seems to me he would want to get the heck out of Dodge ASAP.

I assume the bullet was recovered. I haven't heard anything on that front. If so it will be easy enough to determine if the weapon found was used to fire the death bullet.

I wanted to let this one go… but ultimately felt a response was necessary.

1. Unconditional condemnation of the assassination attempt. Political violence is always wrong, full stop. It's tragic and should be universally condemned by ev everyone. Period.

2. Defending free speech means defending it for views we disagree with or hate. Period.

3. The "precipice of civil war" rhetoric - or the counrtry is about to collapse that we see spamming SM is fear-mongering hyperbole that intentionally insites fear and divides us. It's the same thing that much of the main stream media does on both left and right.

4. Genuiinely concerned that this along with all the other over blown sensationalism of 'crime and violence' will be used to justify undermining the upcoming election. As a betting man, I'd wager that Trump and the right wing media with all their over the top rhetoric about the state of the country, may well be positioning himself to cancel/delay the midterms.

The founding Fathers wrote the Constitution and other documents around Biblical principles, and progressive liberal wokeness is anti-Christian values and is destroying this country. Did you ever hear of the freedom of religion? You know accepting that people have different beliefs.

Whatever else may or may not be wrong with this country, your absolutism and others like you are at least an equal part of the problem, if not most of the problem. No matter which side left or right someone is, talking in absolutes just like this is the root cause of so much of our issues.

And yet, those same founding fathers enshrined freedom of religion (which is the opposite of what you are advocating). By doing that, they kicked off the topic of separation of Church and State which you are trying (and failing) to tip-toe around.

Just because right/wrong overlaps heavily with what is said in the Bible does NOT mean what you think it means. You are taking a coincidence and running with it to an obviously, factually wrong conclusion.

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution's Establishment Clause prevents the government from establishing a religion or favoring one over others, meaning laws cannot be passed based on a specific religious doctrine to endorse or establish that religion. While individual politicians may base their personal views on religion, any law passed by Congress must have a secular purpose and should not promote or inhibit any particular religion.

They purposefully made sure that you can't inflict your religious beliefs on others no matter how much you wish to force others to follow it. Your religion is yours. Jesus taught that all people should be cared for. So according to you Jesus was a socialist. I'm glad they caught the guy and that his dad did the right thing. But man, as you said, how hard would it be as a dad to find that out and being in that situation must have been.

Absolutely shattering. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but Trump also indicated that the Dad was a Mormon Minister as well.

Much like yourself I'll reserve what I believe until local and state authorities put the information out. I believe they would be a much more accurate and trustworthy source.
