Got lucky.

Tigers lose on a walk off.

Astros lose.

Need a win.

I think what win clinched their wild card position. Now I hope they don't start resting a few guys.

It just goes to show how every game counts and how a blown save or error back in April might be the difference maker.

This is the most Guardians thing to happen to clinch the postseason that I can think of happening. Hilarious!

Amazing accomplishment.

Truly historic.

Damn I am loving this.

I love October baseball. Every pitch drips with drama. My favorite time of year.

There really are no dominant teams this year. The playoffs are wide open IMO. Any team could win.

You gotta love the pitching the Guardians have delivered when it really mattered.

Ya never know with baseball. Magic can happen when you never expect it.

Pretty exciting.

Takes some pressure off of today but we should still play to win the division.

Getting hit by a pitch is an art. You can avoid it altogether, which makes sense if it is at your head. You can stand there like a dummy and get bludgeoned by the pitch which isn't good, or you can learn to get hit but take it in a way that doesn't cause much damage.

Learning to turn away just enough to take a glancing blow is being a good team player. Whatever it takes to get to first base is the goal of any at bat.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

2nd year manager S Vogt, has now taken this team to the playoffs his only two years as a manager. How much credit does he get? Is he the next great manager?

I think he gets a lot of the credit for managing this team, which keeps a low payroll, only really has a couple of veterans, tons of young ball players, playing many out of position, platooning multiple players. Managing a really young rotation and bullpen. To keep it all together for his two seasons, making the playoffs in both of his seasons as a manager. Are the Guardians possibly gonna lose him to money?

Anyway, congrats to the Guardians for another successful season!

Looks like it will be CLE vs DET most likely

How this team competes year after with the cheapness of the Dolan family is beyond me , imagine if we has a real payroll.

Me, my wife and son went last night-guessed on a whim about a week ago that they could be close this weekend and picked a day to go.
Was a fun night.

The Guardians are like the perfect team to cheer for.

They play hard and never give in.

They are not a super team loaded with the most expensive free agents like the Mets, Dodgers, and Yankees.

Yet they won the division. The Mets with their $360m payroll are out of the post season. Yankees are a WC team. The Dodgers were supposed to dominate. They didn't. They have the fourth best record.

Any team this year could win the World Series. It is wide open.

I never try predicting sports but this MLB playoffs I will give it a try.

I like teams who are playing there best ball at season's end. And I like recent post season experience.

So I pick the Guardians playing the Phillies.

Guardians winning their first World Series since 1948.

Completely gave that game away. Defensive miscues cost them. Uncharacteristic of the Guards.

Get the series back even tomorrow.
