I am going to assume we DON'T draft a QB in the first round in 2026 and that either Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders will be our starting QB for that year. Not because I want it that way but because the cap being what it is we can't even afford to sign a 1st round QB even if we wanted to. So the premise is that since the team needs at least 1 STUD WR nad 5 offensive lineman that our first pick of the draft will be either a WR or a LT. For now, lets focus on possible WRs.
I kind of hope to learn from you guys on this one because I am not a great judge of WRs. I got stuck playing offensive line so that is what I know. What I do know about WRs is that I LIKE tall WRs who are at least 6'2 and can out fight CBs and safeties for the ball. I like for them to have big huge hands that swallow up the ball. Think Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, Harold Carmichael, etc. I also know those big guys are pretty rare. Also, if he can't run at least a 4.5 then let's not talk about him because he most likely will never be open unless he is a giant and is always open like Harold Carmichael was.
So who can we find in the 2026 upcoming draft to be our Big Number One WR? I honestly don't know so tell me what you guys think and if you have been paying attention to any.
Nyck Harbor seems to fit the prototype that I like most. He is 6'5" and runs a 4.24. He doesn't have much play time so maybe we could get him later in the draft. I would attach this kid to the jugs machine for 2 years until he can catch anything.
Chris Brazzell II is 6'5" and runs a 4.48. He is a bit lean but he is a good route runner with decent hands.
So who would you like to see the Browns draft at WR assuming we don't go with a QB?

I haven't watched enough CFB to know any prospects (other than the BIG names like the OSU kids), but I think it's apparent the entire WR room needs a complete overhaul. We are asking Bond to be our #2 ... and frankly, he doesn't even look like a practice squad ready type guy right now. Jeudy is incredibly inconsistent and/or checked out, Tillman can't stay healthy.
We need to probably draft 2 WRs in the top 4 rounds, with QB and OT being the other positions focused on
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

IMO we are going to draft a quarterback in the first round.
The cap will not matter because rounds are now slotted to a known number.
29 is when the new stadium is supposed to open. The plan is to back into that date with a new QB ready to play. That would give a new QB a ramp to be ready.
There are a number of solid QB prospects in this draft. We will have a high pick. The second first round pick provides leverage if they need it to move up.
Gabriel and Sanders were low picks for a QB. If one becomes a solid backup that would be ok.
The Browns have to get a quarterback first. No other position matters till they get that right.

I don't think the above parameters are important. We could (and will) draft a QB and still have enough assets to go after any WR in the draft.
I'm going to say it for the millionth time. I want a big-bodied QB that will fight for a ball. I want to foster a rapport between QB and said WR that gives the QB confidence for a few "in the neighborhood" throws from time to time. I'm tired of midgets and I'm tired of WRs that play small. Berry blew it when he handed Nico Collins to the Texans. We missed out on the 2022 WR Sweepstakes because we had no assets.
It's time... it's waaay past time.
I haven't studied the class (we shouldn't have to this early in the season. Geez... this sucks... again) but I feel like it's another position group where either they are can't miss and require a top 10 pick, or they may take a season or two before you see the full potential; yes, even 1st round picks. I think that is one reason Berry has been hell-bent on WRs through FA. That has to stop this year because we're back (once gain) to a point where nobody worth their salt is coming to where careers go to die.
So, now that I've added nothing to the conversation other than doubling down on what you said, I triple down, because you nailed it: big body, big hands, decent speed. Doesn't need to be a sprinter, doesn't need to make acrobatic catches.. needs to track footballs in the air and go up and get them like his life depends on it. Period.
Who was the last Browns WR to do that? Freaking Dave Logan?? C'mon guys.

I'll go with Josh Gordon. What a waste of a great ability and career that guy was.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I said this the other day, we've probably had the least amount of true #1 WRs of anyone in the NFL ... Cooper was borderline for about 1/2 a season, Gordon for about 1/2 a season ... then who? Braylon? KJ? Slaughter? It gets real dire to look at.
We need a game changing #1 WR to pair with the QB
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Not too be negative, but it doesn't matter how many skilled position players you have if your o-line sucks. Four of the five Browns current o-line starters have expiring contracts after this season along with TE Njoku. The only starter still under contract is Jones and he's missed 3 seasons in a row with knee issues. All of the current backups are extremely weak and not even close to being replacement starters. Oh, one more item, Berry's mindset that tackles are tackles and moving a guy that has never played LT in their life can just be switched there. How's that worked out for the Browns with Wills and now Jones?
Berry has had 3 first round picks as the Browns GM - Jedrick Wills Jr. (2020), Greg Newsome II (2021), and Mason Graham (2025). Jedrick Wills Jr., OT: Selected 10th overall, Wills was considered a controversial pick due to other players available at the time, such as Justin Jefferson and Tristan Wirfs. Two of those guys are not with the team anymore with Wills out of football and Newsome traded. Graham is starting but the jury is still out on him after only 8 games and remains to be seen if it's a solid pick. To make matters worse, Berry has not drafted a solid quality starter at QB, WR, or OL in any round the six years he's been the GM.
IMO, even considering Berry and Stefanski coordinating the rebuild of this team is a wasted cause. The team that's on the field right now is a collaborated effort whose 6-years together has possibly given the Browns the worst offense the team has ever had. To be honest, contemplating what the Browns needs are an effort in futility until the two are fired. Whomever us as fans consider for picks or direction the team might go isn't anything close to what will happen with these two bozos still in charge.
Besides, after 6 seasons with a collaborated 6 year losing record, why would Haslam allow Berry to make any draft decisions that will be rebuked by new management which going to happen sooner than later? Final word, I want the Browns to bring in a new team before they draft or pursue FA's. A new management/HC team couldn't do any worse than what we've witnessed the last two seasons.

Berry is so over rated as a GM. He made one good trade to acquire Amari Cooper And he lived off that for years. His talent evaluations overall have been porous He didnt nothing to upgrade the WR room in 2025.

It's not healthy to be obsessed by it either. It's not as if it's a matter of national security or anything.

The truth doesn't hurt at all, Slide Rule.
Football is a damned game. Acting like I'm "ignoring" it, like it's a leaky roof on my house, is absurd. You sit here, day after day, with your hindsight takes as if every perfect decision that wasn't made is one that YOU would have made. B*tch and moan all you want, scream for Berry's head in the middle of the street if you want. Doesn't change a thing, never will.

I like two WR's
Ofc an Ohio State guy
Carnell Tate 6"6 191 lbs
Chris Brazzell 6"5 195 lbs out of Tennesee
Currently the Browns have 7 WR's
Carter and Laravadain at 5'8
Bond and Corley at 5'11
Trash at 6'0
Judy at 6'1
Tillman 6'3
I wish Tillman could stay healthy
The league top 10 WR's are 6'0 or over

Collins is like one of the biggest studs in the NFL haha ... he's 6'4 and huge. Puka is a stud too. London as well.
Unless you are an elite separator and hands guy, you need the size IMO

Glad to see the conversation is lively =) Do we have more names? I ask because I want to watch some videos and get familiar with more WRs for this upcoming draft.

honestly I almost never watch college football. I will watch Notre Dame once in a while since my daughter goes to school there and she will sometimes score free tickets. I will just hear about this player or that player and then watch games for that player just to see what they are about.
I'll take a look at the guy you mentioned.

Looks like Coleman was a favorite in Nebraska when he transferred to Minnesota (not Maryland as I posted). I'm in AZ so I'll see Williams Saturday against AZ. I'd be happy to see any one of them join us.

(after his best game as a pro), I'll go ahead and predict that draft slot at 15-20. If Tate is within five slots and a 2nd round pick may stamp the ticket for a trade-up, I might go ahead and gamble. Unfortunately, I don't think Berry will be comfortable with that kind of gamble this year. Maybe he can play Haslam into telling him to go out and get him. That said, I'm guilty of falling in love with WRs and often being wrong.

There are a lot of guys who are the size of receivers.
College teams all have a bunch of receivers on the team.
IMO good scouting should be able to find receivers in every round. That does not mean you will find HOF'ers.
It means take a lot of shots and some will score.
We need a quarterback badly. Like since forever.
There are a number of promising guys in this draft. Moore, Simpson, Mendoza standout but there are others as well. We have to find our guy.
We must get this right. The Browns must study this class until your eyes bleed.
If we do not find our guys in this draft we never will.
