This QB class has really fizzled out from where we were when the College football season started hasn’t it?

Mel Kiper is a good example of what we are discussing. You could add Todd McShay and a host of others to that list. But we will have to disagree on that.
You see, other than a couple of months before the draft and during the draft these guys have near zero media presence. That are designated "draft experts". It's like having a part time job. I mean if they are smart enough to know they're nowhere nearly qualified to take such a job and know they would never make it at such a position in the NFL what you're suggesting makes perfect sense to me. And I'm sure many of them do realize that.
But anyone who seriously thinks they're qualified to take such a job I think would do so. I mean otherwise they're stuck in their part time gig a few months a year.
But I do think most of them as well as all 32 NFL teams know that aren't qualified to take on such a job. So to that extent we would be in agreement.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Shedeur?
I don't know the whole story. Maybe he turned teams off for any number of reasons. In the end he was passed over.
Obviously there is no maybe about it. He was a dud in the pre draft meetings. Players don't drop like that unless they are found with drugs or something like that near the draft. Prior to that everybody had him highly rated. All of the draft prognosticators make mistakes, but not all at the same time. I don't recall anybody saying Sanders was a late round pick at best. He went in to the meetings and couldn't answer questions. Team after team dropped him from their draft boards. They put him in the UDFA category.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

I think there's a little more to that Peen. Sanders was and is a media darling. It was and to some extent still is almost cult like. The story of Deion Sanders and his son at Colorado had people almost spell bound. As was mentioned these so called draft experts have no accountability after the draft is over. They have a couple of months before the draft and the draft itself to garner attention, get hits on their web sites and ratings on their shows. The best way to do that is to promote "the story of the day". To cover what gets the most attention and ratings. That story was Sanders.
Pimping and promoting Shedeur was like the Soup Du Jour. The flavor of the day. It helped them reach their ultimate goal. Ratings.

This QB class has really fizzled out from where we were when the College football season started hasn’t it? I'm no QB guru but this is not how I think others see it. The QBs who were the darlings last year definitely fizzled: Beck, Nussmeier, Allar et al. But I think most who's opinion I think carries something think Mendoza, Simpson and Moore would be real in any year.

But I think most who's opinion I think carries something think Mendoza, Simpson and Moore would be real in any year. I think Mendoza has solidified his spot as top QB and #1 overall pick in 2026 draft. Tonight is a huge night for Simpson. He struggled down the stretch. Bama's run game has struggled, and teams have been pinning their ears back and pressuring Simpson and finding success doing so. He is on the road facing a really good defense and pass rush tonight. With a big game he could end some fears and solidify his spot in the 1st round. With another bad game he may end up coming back to college for another year. Current projections have him predicted to go mid to late 1st at this point in time. Dante Moore can also solidify his spot with a couple nice games in the playoffs. He has the size 6'3 and arm talent but is seen as far from a finished product and still possible could go back to Oregon another season. If drafted he may not be a day 1 starter. Mendoza is the only sure-fire top of the draft QB right now. If the Browns bring Berry and Stefanski back and do not take a QB in the 1st round I would not be surprised if they took Drew Allar somewhere in the draft. They were on record last year as saying if he would have come out, they would have taken him early in last year's draft.

I remember us saying that about Allar. He does have the size and arm strength. He has that Josh Allen look about him but needs to be developed. I remember that there were a few so called draft experts that weren’t high on Allen too.
