You weren't asking me, but he strikes me as an innovative coordinator but just doesn't have the leadership ability to be a good HC.

Schwartz is low on my list of choices. I really do not see the point of hiring him as HC. I would rather see a new voice to lead the team. Schwartz has had two elite defenses with us the past two years. How many HC interviews has he had in that time? One? Is that correct? Hm, why is that. Agree. I like Schwartz. I have zero interest in him being named HC. Are you counting his interview with the Browns as his lone HC interview? I do not recall any others, including prior years as the Browns DC. Might sound crazy, I think McDaniel is my top choice at the moment. Same. Landing the guy that penned the 32 point Power Point for Shanahan is also near the top of my list. Sign me up for Miami Mike (and his eyewear). I don’t consider Harbaugh a realistic option. Yes, I am counting Schwartz's interview with us as his only one. Edit: I am not 100% if that is true or not. The question would be…was he and is he either of those? Couldn't agree more. Sometimes situations become untenable and only a change will paint an accurate picture. There is no clear evidence in the NFL until "fool me twice". That said, Oobs, that seems to be the consensus after a quick look under the hood.

What's the scoop with Mike, anyway? He was lauded as an offensive genius, and I know things have been very inconsistent, but how did he end up on the scrap heap so quickly?? That is a good question. Oober brought up one of the main reasons I want him. Offensive innovator. That offense was dangerous when Tua was not being concussed. He had them going with a run game too. He had a vision of what he wanted his offense to be (speed) and it was put in action. IMO, I think he is good to excellent in play development. What I mean by this is the spacing of WRs, routes, and overall execution of the players. The Browns routes just looked sloppy and overall execution has looked rough (though I give them some leeway regarding young players).

I would not feel bad if it ends up Schwartz and Rees stays as OC.
It would be ok with McDaniel as OC.
But really I like Tommy Rees and he knows the roster. I am uncertain about Shedeur but Rees might be his best choice.
I don't think he is ready to be head coach. It would be hard to hire a staff. He doesn't have experience at all on defense.
I sure don't see Schwartz under Rees.
So Schwartz and away we go.

I would consider Schwartz, It would depend upon his plan forthe offense and special teams, but if he has a good plan, heck yeah.

If Schwartz has expressed real interest and is even remotely opposed to staying at DC, I'm slow-playing my lukewarm interest until I've interviewed everyone on my list. I think Schwartz is a clear Plan B in a field of Plan As.

DYK? In 2014, the Browns "made a real play" for then-49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, offering a pair of third-round picks, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer. All these coaches' names being thrown around by the media, for all the teams searching, not just the Browns, sort of reminds me of the draft hype and smokescreens that teams throw around. I would love to have a favorite but I have no idea who the best candidate would be, much less if they would be interested in the Browns.
I hope the guy they hire is the right one and we have another solid draft like last year, but to me we need several OL, WR help, maybe even another CB, before we draft a QB high.
Regarding Stefanski, I liked him, and did questions some of his decisions, but I remember thinking how creative he was when during the 2023 season, the variety of 4th and 1 plays they used when Harrison Bryant came in to take snaps. It almost seemed like a different play each time. So much so, I don't know how you defend that formation to stop one yard. I have heard rumblings he was too easy on players and wasn't enough of a disciplinarian regarding accountability.
I also don't blame KS for Baker's situation. I think Baker was not mature enough at the time. I think it took a couple of teams sending him away to give that chip on his shoulder.
He has played well at TB, but I also think he has been inconsistent. Saying that, with the way our teams' D played the last 2 years, I think he might have been a guy who could have taken us deep in the playoff had his head been right if he stayed.
Anyway, just my 2 cents.

If that is the plan, draft capital for a coach, just save time and award the HC position to Watson. Already wasted it on him once, can average down his salary, just makes Browns sense. I am kidding, just don't consider it too long.
