You actually seem to be saying pretty much the same thing I am. I stated that "it looks good on paper". I've stated they did well at addressing the teams needs. I haven't even gone as far as you did when you stated that it probably won't work out.

I've stated that it's a compete unknown at this point. Which it is. It seems the actual problem some have with my opinion on the draft is that I haven't fallen in love with every single player they drafted and made some bold prediction of how successful they will be in the NFL. While I think my reasoning is sound in that department. We haven't seen them play a single down in the NFL. In case anyone hasn't noticed, I also haven't degraded the picks or predicted any of them will be a massive failure either.

It all boils down to this. I'm neither rubber stamping nor finding guilt when the jury has just begun its deliberations.

You hit on the right word, Bull Dawg, but it was buried in your reply. The word you both have been looking for is...."potential". We can only forecast, or convert. what the player has shown in college to what we believe he is capable of in the pro's. You are both correct....

I said that it probably won't all work out. Someone will probably get hurt at some point. Late rounders have low success rates.

Yes, you stated that the player outcomes are unknown. You were replying to a post that had an opinion on the process of the draft. Those are two different things. What he did in the draft is known. People are allowed to have opinions on what he did and how he did it. Telling people they can't have an opinion on what happened because we don't know how it works out doesn't really work for me. It would make a message board rather pointless if we operated that way. I'll leave it at that.

Where did I say other people couldn't have their own opinion? Don't worry, I'll wait. Your problem seems to be that I have a different opinion and you don't like it. In case there is any confusion, I don't give a damn.

Now all you need to do is show anywhere that I told anyone they weren't allowed to have an opinion. That's something you invented in your own mind.

You're saying people have a right to their own opinion while making some feeble attempt to grill me for posting mine. Practice what you preach.

It certainly appears to this point that he had a great draft last year because we do have some results to base that on.

There are no results on the field in the NFL to base anything on in this draft. Everything is pure speculation. That doesn't mean it may not pan out to be a great draft because it certainly may. Or it may not.

The fact of the matter is ROI is the gauge of success. There's no way to know what the return is on that investment until we see the payoff.

He did manage to address the areas of great need and that's one thing we can certainly give him credit for. Everything else at this point is a question mark.

I get it. You "feel good" about this draft and it seems a lot of people do. There's nothing wrong with that. But the lady that won the blackberry cobbler contest at the fair didn't win that prize when she put her cobbler in the oven. It had to be baked and tasted first.

Right here is where you said someone else’s opinion doesn’t matter.

You asked, there you go, didn’t have to wait too long.

Just because you , and it seems you alone, are of the opinion you can’t rate a draft based on the draft itself, doesn’t make it moot. The act of the draft and those who are concensus picks in certain orders are a valid means of giving a viable opinion of the draft in real time… for everyone but you.

“I’m not sure how you can say” it’s a direct deflection of having a valid opinion.

This is a very different statement from.. “I can’t form an opinion on the draft until the results are in”

That's ridiculous. That's a difference of opinion. You know, that thing that would make a message board boring if they didn't exist. Keep going keyboard warrior! I'm not going anywhere.

All we hear from before the draft are these "draft gurus". That's who you are basing your "consensus picks" on. You know, the same "consensus" they came to last year saying Shedeur Sanders was a first round pick. Yeah, rest your argument on that bunch.

Here is what getting one of those type picks mean. It means either you saw something the other 31 NFL GM's didn't see or they saw something you didn't see. In case you missed it that's not a one way street.

You're going to continue to miss the point that everyone has been trying to explain to you... When you don't understand or know others are right about something you start saying things like "Keyboard warrior".

You aren't worth discussion anymore. Go ahead and ignore my posts and I will do the same.. Thanks for playing

Thanks for playing? I'm sorry reality is not your strong suit. "Others are right"? All two of you? rofl

I don't ignore people or put them on ignore. I reply to people as I see fit, when I see fit. Taking your own advice is one thing, directing others to take it is quite another. Sometime we agree on things and sometimes we don't. That doesn't mean every time we disagree it makes you right. rolleyes

There's a word for that.

Let me clarify some ridiculous notion being presented as though it means something that it certainly does not. Saying "it takes three years to evaluate the draft" doesn't mean there is nothing to be said or commented on about players selected in this or any draft. There will be players drafted we will be seeing on the field either right away or very soon. The tangible results seen on the filed by them is certainly comment worthy IMO. How players are developing and improving is also something tangible and worthy of comment. What it means is you can not evaluate a draft in its entirety for three years.

And the reason behind that is quite simple. Many drafted players come into the league not a finished product. As is often the case it will take time for some of them to develop as players. Some do it faster than other players and some never reach that level at all. So you have to allow that process to play out before you can evaluate such things. It's actually allowing leeway for these players to develop, allowing time for them to mature. That's not a negative. Actually that's a positive. Not rushing to say a player is a bust before he has time to develop happens all too often.

Let's take Fano for example. He was the first LT selected in this draft. He was selected at #9. As the first LT selected he should be able to play the LT position pretty soon if not right away. He should be able to play the position at least as an average NFL starting LT. Indications are he can play multiple positions but if you spent the #9 draft pick on the LT position that player should be a starting NFL LT. If he is or is not achieving that goal it's quite worthy of discussion. Fano is not the "2026 NFL draft". He is one player in that draft.

KC was the 4th WR taken in the 2026 draft. As such he should fall in line with that level of production among the WR's selected in this draft. He is a first round pick and as such that should be expected. Discussing if he is meeting or exceeding that projection is certainly worthy of discussion.

Point being "the draft results in its totality" can not be measured until all players selected have an opportunity to develop.

Please don't allow someone trying to make some preposterous allegation to the contrary fool you. As far as I'm concerned people can make any comments they want about any player or players drafted they so choose. But the fact of the matter is none of us really know what they will be in the NFL until we see them suit up and take the field.

Hopefully that clears up that nonsense.

And just to avoid even more nonsense that's JMO. tsktsk
