Since the draft ended I have gone back and looked at more tape.

So far I have only dug deep on Fano, KC, Boston, and Eman.

I am fired up about their potential for many reasons. All four have college tape to be excited about.

I know the NFL is a different stage but these prospects look damn good to me.

In addition all four have a real passion for football. At least it comes across that way.

Camp should be really fun this year because with last year's draft class which looked good and played well can improve this football team. These two drafts can do wonders to move the Browns forward.

I am in a kind sports glory fog. Braves have the best record and have yet to lose a series. Shocking to me to have an eleven game lead over the Mets and Phillies.

Cavs win last night. Guardians have a good team to watch.

2026 is looking good so far.

Look, if KC has any trouble catching the ball I have a very simple solution. Put some of that Alien tape on his fingertips. He'll never drop a pass again!!!! thumbsup

I agree with you. Which has me confused as to why everyone is gushing over the players that were picked in this draft as if they're already all pros.
So, everyone is just supposed to stop talking about the Browns now that the draft is over? No opinions because they haven’t played in an actual game?

Opinions have been formed for over a year on these players and then strengthened or weakened based on this past season and the current offseason.

Not knowing what their career holds doesn’t change the potential you either see or don’t see in the newest players.

If you don’t have an opinion either way until they play a game, what draws you to these message boards in the first place?

That's really odd because some of the very same people who were questioning both Fano and KC have suddenly fallen in love with them since they received a Browns jersey.

Did someone put soured milk in your coffee?

People aren't talking about opinions so much as projections. Remember how "masterful" you claim this draft was? Yet we have no idea.

I understand what potential is. I know what that means. And every year I see all 32 teams draft players with that potential or those teams wouldn't draft those players either. I also see a lot of those players who never reach that potential in the NFL. Draft busts litter the league from the first round on down. This FO and team are not exempt from that. That's basic reality.

It seems you think everyone else has a right to their opinion yet I don't have a right to mine. Just because you don't like it and don't agree with it isn't a me issue. rolleyes

I think you picked up my coffee with the sour milk.

I didn’t want either of these guys, but where they were rated and ranked, to get four of the consensus top 30 guys, how can you be so bah humbug?

I didn’t question your opinion, I questioned your negative demeanor against others with a positive opinion.

So a differing opinion is "negative"? I get it. It's the "step in line with others!" club. Yeah, no.

For years on this board the consensus was that you can't judge a draft for three years. That everything is an unknown until we see the players in the NFL. That even elite talent often times doesn't transfer to the NFL. People never considered that "negative". They considered that reality because it most certainly is.

None of that is "bah humbug". It's obvious that you have missed many of my comments. Much of it has not been negative. Simply put, trying to pretend or convince yourself these players are going to be great and this was somehow a master class in drafting is very premature. But I will say that we now live in a world where being realistic and pragmatic is often times not received well. This is one of those times.

Drafting a player at what is called "a value position" only matters if that player produces well in the NFL. When you draft a player at a "value position" it means one of two things. Either you really pulled one over on the other teams who aren't able to see what you did or the other 31 teams saw something you didn't.

It could go either way. Let me guess. That's negative too?

We as fans only hear the talking heads and have no idea what 32 NFL GM's actually see in these players. Remember how Shedeur Sanders was a first round pick according to the "draft experts"?

So drafting players "consensus top 30 guys" is taking the word of the very same people that said Shedeur Sanders was a projected first round pick. None of us have any idea how NFL teams had any of them ranked.

If you consider reality "negative? That's not my problem.

Seems the times they are a changin.. That doesn't seem to be the consensus any longer.

Look, we are talking about two completely different things.

WE ARE ALL talking about the draft... YOU are talking about judging the draft class.

At this point in time it has everything to do with the players as they are perceived today.

Again... With your way of thinking, we now have absolutely zero to talk about. The draft is over, nothing else can be talked about until they have 3 years under their belt. Turn off your keyboard when it comes to the draft, discussion over.

That's ridiculous.

I'm not going to get into a personal attack.. It is what it is. We disagree on whether or not we should be allowed to have an opinion on the draft before 3 years from now.

There's only one problem with that. I never said anyone isn't allowed to have an opinion different than mine. Mine is just different than some others and it seems you are having at least a mild tantrum about that.

And once again, the perception of who? As best as I can tell people are basing their perceptions on what sports reporters and draft gurus have said about these players. By stat sheets and workout statistics. Even trivializing the stats they don't like while accentuating the stats they do like. The same people who claimed for the most part that Shedeur Sanders was a first or second round pick.

Nobody is trying to prevent you or anyone else from traveling down that bumpy road. Just don't be surprised if you spill your Big Gulp again when you hit the pot holes. It won't be the first time and certainly not the last.

I get it. Many are looking for every reason possible to be giddy about the draft. But gravity is real and at some point you will come back down to earth. But in the mean time, knock yourself out by blaming me for that.
