Tomorrow mandatory Camp begins.
Three days, no contact, no pads what to expect?
After these three days everybody goes home till real training camp begins.
Monken said he would like to have his starter in place. It might not work out that way.
Given that DW and Shedeur are competing for the starter's job. Naming the starter when nobody is in pads and there is no contact could be hard to do. When training begins everybody knows things heat up. Eleven on eleven with pads and a rush means timing and competition is at play.
These three days there will talk from reporters but we shall see what Monken has to say.

One ting I think people should take notice of is the depth chart always changes during the process. From training camp through the pre-season and right up until opening day it's going to fluctuate. I don't think naming starters this early in the process has any actual meaning. But then Monkin is a first time NFL HC so there may be a bit of a learning curve here.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Honestly, I can't see the starter being anyone other than Watson. Shedeur's good days are in the ballpark of Watson's bad days (not his worst, but his average bad).

Apt way of comparison. Under pressure, we do what we practiced, easiest reaction is fastest. Improvements are suspect for SS who had a lot to correct.

DW has done next to nothing in years.
When he played for the Browns other than one game. He was awful.
He held the ball. He was late to recognize what was open. Moved from the pocket early. Then broke a bone in his shoulder.
That was followed by tearing his Achilles twice. There is nothing to be gained by starting him.
He will not be extended. No way.
The Browns have to find out what Shedeur can do with a team around him that has some weapons and at least an average OL.
This is now a young team. Myles is gone. Carson and Verse are new leaders on defense going forward.
It is time that a quarterback takes control of the offense and leads the offense.
That is not DW.

In general, I won't disagree. The flip side is that I doubt we have a QB on the roster that can be more effective than him and they may be tempted by that.
On a side note, I remember making the case that even in his best years in Houston, he never really did all that much (despite his numbers). I've always felt he was more a product of his system and the insane WRs he always had (and the years he had a solid defense).
